Essay Generation Gap
Writing an essay on the topic of the generation gap can be both challenging and thought-
provoking. This subject requires a delicate balance between personal experiences, sociological
insights, and a deep understanding of the dynamics that exist between different age groups. The
difficulty lies in capturing the essence of a phenomenon that is inherently complex and
multifaceted.
To start, one must delve into the historical context, examining how societal changes over time
contribute to the widening gap between generations. This involves extensive research to
understand the various factors that shape the perspectives and values of different age cohorts.
Additionally, addressing the psychological aspects of the generation gap requires a nuanced
exploration of individual and collective identities.
Moreover, the essay should incorporate real-life examples and anecdotes to illustrate the impact
of the generation gap on relationships within families, workplaces, and communities. Balancing
the presentation of diverse viewpoints is essential to avoid a biased narrative, adding another
layer of complexity to the writing process.
Crafting a cohesive and insightful essay on the generation gap demands a skillful use of
language to convey complex ideas clearly. The writer needs to navigate through the intricacies of
intergenerational dynamics, employing a mix of empathy, analysis, and critical thinking.
In conclusion, while the topic itself is inherently fascinating, writing an essay on the generation
gap is a task that demands a thorough understanding of social, psychological, and historical
dimensions. It is a challenge that requires a writer to skillfully weave together research, personal
reflection, and illustrative examples to create a compelling and comprehensive narrative. For
those who find themselves grappling with this complexity, seeking assistance from resources like

Owl City Interview

Adam Young is definitely humble. As soon as I asked him about his latest album
Mobile Orchestra, the 29 year old turned my attention to the myriad of duets on
studio album number three. It s actually taken me quite a bit longer to make this
album than it has to make any of my earlier albums, probably just due to the fact
that this album has so many different collaborations and so many different vocal
features on it, he shares with PPcorn. It felt so good to get everybody on the same
page and to have everyone contribute, and again, I feel so lucky to have all of these
collaborations... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s so cool for me to meet those people out and about, it makes things like that so
fulfilling, just to write music and just to be honest, shares Young. Still living in the
mid west, Young maintains a fairly normal life considering he has sold over 2.5
million albums. I still live in a small town, I still live in the area that I grew up in. In
a lot of ways life is not very different now than it was before I started to do music and
gained some sort of success. It s always a little bit weird when I come out with a
new album and suddenly there are all these opportunities to do interviews and to
do press, and to play music live, and to do all these things....I didn t move to LA or
New York, I didn t do that whole kind of route. So everything is still pretty normal
for me, but strange. But it s very cool, it s strange in the best way that I can describe I
guess, so I m very happy. So after all his work on Mobile Orchestra, what does Young
want his listeners to take away from it? It s always easy to forget that there s
probably scenarios and situations in everybody s life that are sad and that are scary,
that nobody else knows
Disc-Jockey s Influence On The Music Industry
The history of DJ ing is a long path all the way back to the early 1900 s. People had
stated to discover that you could have the same effect on a crowd as bands and
orchestras but only some sound equipment and songs by yourself. Many people
have no idea how long DJ s have been influencing the music industry and what is to
be played on radio stations worldwide. The first known disc jockey took his place
in history in 1909. Ray Newby of California played records from a small transmitter
while he was a student in college at the age of 16. By 1910, radio broadcasts had
become a very normal, but still exciting part of life. The world s first DJ dance
party was thrown by Jimmy Savile in 1943; he mainly played jazz records for the
people who attended these parties. A few years later, Savile became the first
person to use turntables live at a dance party so that he could a continuous flow of
music playing. In Kingston, Jamaica, promoters would call themselves DJs which
would throw giant dance parties in the streets, and DJs would blast their music from
huge PA speaker systems. Jamaicans called these party entrepreneurs sound systems.
The city of New York became the breeding ground for experimentation with the
music and style of DJs. In the 1970 s, DJ Kool Herc and Afrikan Bambatta were
deemed the fathers of hip hop , throwing huge... Show more content on

How Technology Has Impacted The Political System
The acronym PERSIA denotes the categories Political, Economic, Religion, Social,
Intellectual and Aesthetic into an easy way of remembering one of many systematic
models. These six categories are used to organize and explain technology s effect
and changes over a long period of time. By categorizing a specific topic or idea, one
may easily be able to understand the importance that topic, idea and technology has
impacted a person, culture, country, and even history. Thus, providing a new outlook
and perspective on history and the factors that contributed to the change in history.
Firstly, the PERSIA model breaks into the category, political. Political describes how
technology has impacted the political system. Throughout history, technology has
caused government, whether it be state and or federal government, to update its laws
to accommodate and regulate the use of said technology. Many technological
advancements and inventions need to be regulated or added to the law because it
causes chaos and interruption and many of the times it causes danger to society. The
next category, economic, defines how technology influences the financial market in
society and not so much on individuals within society. Rather, it looks at the
economics of the society as a whole. By looking at how technology has impacted the
economy at a macro level, it is clearer to see how large corporations and big business
are affected than the individual consumer. Continuing on, technology effects
Thermo-Chemical Storage Systems Essay
Thermochemical heat storage can be physical (sorptive) or chemical based on the
material used. The storage system which does not involve the production of new
compound is called sorptive storage while those which involve formation of new
compound are called chemical storage. The successful thermochemical storage
system is sorptive storage system that works on utilizing the heatof reaction enthalpy.
Thermochemical storage has considerable benefits when compared to sensible and
the latent heat thermal energystorage systems since it is easily controllable which
prevents the heat loss. The features of sorptive heat storage technology enables the
implementation on a large scale.
Firstly, charging process of the thermochemical storage method... Show more content

The features like increased storage capacity, decreased heat loss to the environment
and flexibility of heat storage over a wide range of temperatures makes the
thermochemical storage system superior to other storage systems.
The sorptive technology involves the absorption or adsorption of molecules through
a reaction thereby storing heat. This kind of sorption system results in the formation
of physical bond between the reaction pair, adsorbent (A) and adsorptive (B), which
has a preferably high energy turnover. The preferred reaction is mostly reversible in
order to perform many charge and discharge cycles.
A + B ↔ AB + heat (see Figure 2) Figure 2: Schematic diagram of sorptive thermal
energy storage technology
When charging the compound, heat is applied to substance AB which dissociate into
separate A and B molecule/compound. The storage is facilitated by using certain
inhibitors that control the reverse reaction. To release heat, the A and B components
are reacted by removal of inhibitors, ultimately favoring the reaction, resulting in the
formation of compound AB and releasing heat. During this cyclic process, when the
reaction between A and B is prevented, the heat which can be stored due to chemical
energy cannot be released. The adsorbent such as zeolite (see Figure 3) react with
water thereby act as a sorptive storage material where adsorption of water
Importance of Early American Women Writers Essay
What could be said to early American women s writers except, thank you? The first
American women s writers opened doors and laid the foundation for future women s
writers and readers. Today s women raise children, supervise households, and work
outside the home with every modern convenience available, and as you would expect
do not find the time to write, except for a grocery list. Early American womenraised
children and supervised households without the modern conveniences of today and
in some way made time to write the first poetry of the New World. For example,
Everette Emerson gives a picture of Anne Bradstreet a housewife who stole hours

Bradstreet poetry was considered plain style. She offered the reader a look into the
private world, her world. Upon Burning in Our House was a simple style poem
about the truth put into simple words, as were all of Bradstreet s poems. Bradstreet
tells about faith in God and belongings lost in the poem. Bradstreet addressed her
husband, children, God, and community in her poems. Her maternal instinct and
dedication were present in her writing. In the poem, The Author to Her Book,
Bradstreet compares the poem itself to a child, her child:
Thou ill formed offspring of my feeble brain,
Who after birth did st by my side remain,
Till snatched from thence by friends, less wise than true,
Who thee abroad, exposed to public view,
Made thee in rags, halting to th press to trudge,
These errors were not lessened (all may judge).
At thy return my blushing was not small,
my rambling brat in (in print) should mother call,
I cast thee by as one unfit for light,
My visage was so irksome in my sight;
Yet being mine own, at length affection would
thy blemishes amend, if so I could:
I washed thy face, but defects I saw,
And rubbing off a spot, still made a flaw...(Meridian 33.1 14)
Bradstreet wanted her poetry to remain private. She accepted her poetry
unconditionally, like a mother accepts her child, because if she tried to correct the
poem s flaws more flaws appeared. A distinct expression of Bradstreet true love to her
The Similarities Between Spanish And Basque In Catalunya
If you encounter a native of France or Spain, he will most likely speak French or
Spanish, as the national language of his home country. However, a notable number of
people speak a cultural language as well. The salience of these languages on the north
vs. south side of the Pyrenees Mountains is substantial. Catalan, spoken in
northeastern Spainand southeastern France, and Basque, a language isolate spoken in
northern Spain and southwestern France, are minority languages. Both are distinct
from Castilian Spanish with their own literature, people, and culture. While Basque
and Catalan are prevalent in their respective Spanish autonomous communities, the
border of the PaГЇsos Catalans (Catalan Countries) and Euskal Herria (Basque...

In Catalunya, Catalan is spoken fluently by 85% of the population with 97% claiming
they understand ( Generalitat de Catalunya. 6). This mutual intelligibility between
Spanish and Catalan suggests that Catalan is only a dialect of Castilian. While many
people would like to say this is true, and Spain under Franco attempted to integrate
Catalan into mainstream Spanish culture this way (Alguera 89), the Catalan is a
distinct language with it s own lexicon, literature, grammar rules, etc. It is a
mandatory subject for children in public education in the autonomous community (
Catalans. 109). This contrasts the Basque Country where only 30% of the population
is fully fluent in Basque (Gobierno Vasco 17). Interestingly, although Basque is
classified as a vulnerable language ( Data on the Basque Language. ) and is spoken by
less than a third of the population, the highest concentration of speakers exists in
young adults, where nearly 60% of people age 16 to 24 claim to be fluent (Gobierno
Vasco 21). I think this trend is interesting because one would think the older
generations had the higher percentage of Basque speakers, and the lowest among the
younger age groups owing to assimilation to Spanish language and culture. Although
Basque and Catalan are recognized co official languages and enjoy considerable clout
and use, the situation is very different in France.
As the symbol for the national identity of the Basques, scholars have

According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM V),
the symptoms of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) include: lack of motivation,
oppositional to others, irritability, feelings of guilt and worthlessness, as well as
suicidal thoughts and/or tendencies. (Beidel, 201). In fact, William Faulkner s The
Sound and The Fury(TSATF) portrays the internal struggle of a man with Major
Depressive Disorderthrough the character of Quentin Compson. Throughout TSATF
there is a ceaseless sense of meaninglessness. However, according to Kaczmarek,
Quentin displays William Faulkner s use of the stream of consciousness: Quentin is
the stream of consciousness technique itself ...Also it is hard to disagree that his
narrative exemplifies stream of consciousness, so the reader cannot expect
grammaticality as if it were a for and against essay. (Kaczmarek, 126). Many
excerpts in Quentin s chapter start and fail to end or end abruptly often altering into a
different scene or state of mind. The reader often feels a lack of motivation through
Quentin, because it is as if he is walking a journey without an end. He is incapable of
action and the actions he does commit have a meaningless sense to them. Throughout
Quentin s chapter, actions halt and transform into different scenes, never completing
the first. For example, when Quentin is at Harvard and his roommate, Shreve, leaves
for class he starts to get ready, but then the scene switches to him thinking of Caddy s
A Research On The Kansas State University Housing

next step is to go to college. A week later, I started to think how am I going to live
on my own? Where will I stay at, for my existing 4 years or maybe years? So, I did
my research on the Kansas State University housing homepage. As I am looking

Renaissance Impact
Although there are many controversial views in the area the Renaissance had the
greatest impact, it is evident that the art was fundamental to further advancements.
We believe that the following information clearly, gives our opinion on how the
Renaissance impacted art more than literature, music etc. Some may say that the
Renaissancehad a major development in astronomy, humanist philosophy, the printing
press, vernacular language in writing, world exploration, etc. however, according to

of fact, the impact the Renaissance had on art allowed for exciting new techniques

improvement in culture and expression of oneself in art first by attempting to
recapture some of the greatness of the forgotten civilizations of Ancient Greece and
Rome, then proceed to other areas as claimed by the video, All about the
Renaissance: Part 01: Historical Background, Beginnings, and Art from Discovery

influential areas during the Renaissance because it provided a profound impression
on people s worldview, nonetheless History Channel states that this great revival of
interest in classical learning and values of ancient Greece and Rome, was

fact that Renaissance art sought to capture the experience of an individual, but also

Metamorphosis By Kafka
When I was younger my fear for insects was nonexistent. Growing up I didn t see
many insects till I moved to the East Coast. Some of the insects I came across was
beautiful, for example at night fireflies would light up, and that fascinated me.
Other insects such as flying ants and roaches made me no longer enjoy the idea of
insects as once before. In today s American society it s common that people
deveolped their own perceptions about insects. In Kafka s Metamorphosis, the story
explained how Gregor s family didn t accept his transition. Gregor was practically
disowned and treated differently. His family viewed him as
disgusting. Therefore,Gregor s experience directly correlates with how people today

African Americans With Hiv ( Hiv )
African Americans with HIV
HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is viral infection that weakens the immune
system of the body and eventually causes AIDS (acquired immune deficiency
syndrome) the last stage of the disease where a person can die. The virus has plagued
the African American communities and continues to disproportionately impact the
black race more than any other racial or ethnical group.
The brunt of the impact of HIV has taken over the African Americanpopulation due
to complex set of social, individual and environmental factors. The spread of the
disease is the number one cause of death in African Americans, both male and female.
It is alarming and at the same time devastating for the African people throughout the

Art of the Italian Renaissance
One of the greatest stories from the Italian Renaissance is the one of Fillipo
Brunelleschi and Lorenzo Ghiberti. In 1401, the directors of the art of the Santa
Maria del Fiore Cathedral held a contest for artists; to create panels for a the doors
on the east entrance (Kleiner, 560 2). Because the east doors faced the cathedral, the
people thought it extremely prestigious to be able to participate in such a massive
creation. After the first competition round, two finalists remained; Brunelleschi, an
accomplished and experienced artist, and Ghiberti, a younger artist, but one with just
as much talent. The two competitors were required to create a panel (or square) of

It is said that history repeats itself, and in some instances this is true. Many
Savonarola situations happened around the world, but one in particular stood out
to me as I have read about it before. The Boxer Rebellion, which occurred in China
from 1899 to the early 1900 s. A large part of the Western world considered China
as less developed than them, despite the fact that China had existed long before
these countries. Certain people in China grew very tired of being treated as
underlings as they felt that the people of the western world were taking advantage of
them. Because of this a secret alliance began; a dangerous union which grew into a
desperate attempt to purify China from all western thought. Hence the Boxer
Rebellion, which was a formation of young people bent on destroying any and
everything to do with western thought. Like the situation involving Savonarola and
the destruction of classical texts, participants in the rebellion harmed and killed
many missionaries, destroying homes, people, and even hospitals; they burned a
racecourse built by the English, and were involved in many lengthy battles. It is
evident that the Boxers thought all Western ideas were evil, and they assumed the
only way to save themselves was to rid their country of foreign ideas; something that
is familiar when compared to Girolamo Savonarola and his frantic actions to purify
Florence from humanistic ideas. My
Ethical Decision Making In American History
There are many examples of ethical decisions throughout American history yet few
have had a more profound impact on shaping our country then the paths chosen by
the American Revolutionaries. Let s face it, had it not been for their actions our
country would probably look much different today. If it were not for the foresight of
our founding fathers, men like Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, or Thomas Paine
(1776), who authored arguably the most compelling piece of political propaganda
the world had seen to date, Common Sense. After reading Paine s work I believe
that many of the ideals and philosophies are still relevant in modern society, so much
so that I was drawn into the relevance and found myself pondering the moral palaver

Representative James Warren wore a toga while orating for the Boston Massacre, still
others such as Joseph Hawley declared he would not accept a governmental

Americans capacity for virtue (Wood, 204). Revolutionary leaders showed several
times over their objective was federal development, not personal achievement.
Applying my own ethical philosophy to historical events, I find myself with the same
mindset as our forefathers. Colonists found themselves in the gravest of
circumstances and while the situation was not at the cusp of catastrophe per se, the
British Crowns purpose was clear. With the implementation of the Sugar Act, Stamp
Act, and other duties coupled with sustained occupational constraints such as
Quartering and Impressments, it s simple to see how colonists likened the British
Crown as masters with the colonists as
People Who Supported Tattoos
Tattoos are being commonly observed as criminals like killing someone or robbing

groups, signaling time spent in jail, punk status, or membership in a motorcycle
gang. The popularity with who supported tattoos decreased but were in group
situations. People used to get tattoos for peace, with beautiful or calm designs, and

involving puncturing of the skin from the tattooartist. Tattooed people were less likely
to claim a religious denomination than the non tattooed. Little is known about the
prevalence and consequences of body art application. (Amy J. Derick 2006). That

much money you had, your social life, or any other reason. Fight Club is literally
fighting for something real, putting everything about you aside to focus on one
central goal. Two men to a fight, one fight at a time, no shoes, no shirts, fights go
on as long as they have to... if this is your first night at fight club, you have to fight
(50). Fight club was a way for everyone regardless if you were a doctor, lawyer,
cashier, or business man to escape your troubles in life, your worries, and do
something real. Fight club has real consequences, and it is a way to offer an
escape from who you think you are to learn who you really are. During Fight Club,
you have a new persona, and it makes you realize that you are unhappy with your
life, and gives you a way to change it. Fight Club does this by abandoning all social
aspects, creating guided rules, and giving people a chance to start living.
However, Fight Club never solves any issues or problems, it just gives people a
way to deal with the stress of their regular life. Ever week men got to fight, using
their frustrations to kick the living hell out of each other. It is almost like Fight
Club was an out of body experience for the participants, and turning them into a
whole other person for the entirety of the fight. Fight Club was the start to finding
out who you really were, it was a recruitment for the men willing to escape the
consumer culture, and strike back to those who held you down. Fight Clubs were
appearing all across the United States, they were becoming a social movement that
would further evolve into Project Mayhem (a group of elite people willing to
abandon normal social life to stick it to the system by any means
Tupac Influence
Rap an influential style of music developed in the late 1970 s that spoke poetry
and slang on the topics of life and overall society. One of the monumental artist to
make rap known was the one and only Tupac Shakur. Throughout this essay we will
dive into the origin of Tupac s rise in the music industry, learn about the music
released by Tupac, discuss his style of music, and end on the controversial early
death of Tupac.
To begin with, Tupac Shakurwas raised by his mother Afeni Shakur who was a
Black Panther activist. During that time when she was pregnant with Tupac was in
jail for bombing charges and the father was no were in the picture even when
Tupac grew up to be an adult. Tupac s actual named was Lesane Parish Crooks by
was changed by his moniker to Tupac Amaru Shakur. An interesting fact is Tupac
Amaru means shining serpent. Being raised in New York City in the area of
Brooklyn and the Bronx he witnessed an abundance of hardships by yet found

During Tupac s career his music was influenced by the West coast and East coast
rapper feuds even though Tupac was not even born in West coats he still
represented them with his music. Through the feuds he developed enemies due to
him dissing them on his tracks. It was September 7, 1996 when Tupac was shot
while he was riding in car and from his injuries he died six days later in Las Vegas
Nevada dying at the age of 25. Tupac is still a topic to this due with even after his
death an abundance amount of albums were released which sold millions of copies
and becoming successful. With technology today, he was able to appear at the
Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival through 2 D image. Tupac performed and
appeared by other great rap artist Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg which caused Tupac to

Environmental Impacts Of Environmental Disasters
Introduction Environmental damage that is caused by just one individual is
exclusively minor which causes it to be unnoticed, whereas a major group of people,
such as a large corporation harming the environment at once causes major harm to
society. More than a century of industrial development has caused negative
environmental impacts such as global warming, ozone depletion, and air and water
pollution. These are recognized as global environmental problems that need
immediate solutions. Climate change, as an international environmental issue, is
getting a great deal of attention as it has become a global issue. In the last few
decades, there has been a heightened awareness of environmental issues by
governments, policy makers, advocacy groups, business firms, and the public all over
the world. The corporate role in this, the potentially most severe and all encompassing
of environmental disasters, is quite clear as business activities are effecting climate
change negatively. This paper will argue that in order to minimize the negative effect
of environmental harm and climate change, the undertakings of corporations should
be structured and encouraged to perform in a socially responsible manner. This will
be examined through the discussion on the legal structure of corporations and the
desire of regulators and victims looking to hold them accountable for their
environmental harm. It will be followed with a description of the importance of
corporate social responsibility. This
The Between Interest And Action
The definition of provocation in dictionary is an action or speech that makes
someone angry or causes a strong reaction. However, in Tilden s opinion, the purpose
of interpretation is not to control people s mind, but rather inspiriting visitors to think
actively and find out deeper truth. Specifically, there are two main aims of
interpretation. First and most important, people need to have desire to increase
interests and acquire knowledge. People s interest is an important element to decide
not only whether they like to go to museums or not and the topic and trend of
exhibition in the museum, but also what visitors can gain and their feeling of
experience in the museum. There is a close relationship between interest and action....

In other words, interpretation in the museum needs to provoke the mind and spirit of
human and enable them to think the essence and further things. In the museum, as an
operator of history and culture, interpreters can make an effect on how visitors think,
feel and their attitude. The responsibility of interpreter is to develop the objects from
the apparent to the essence, from a part to the whole, from the fact to its value and
potential truth. This is also the reason why Tilden regards provocation as the prior
aim of interpretation.
Nowadays, the main aim of museum has surpassed education. It is certain that the
real meanings of interpretation are stimulating visitors and having a further thinking.
And only provoking visitors can achieve this purpose. The essay below will mention
several reasons that why provocation should be the chief aim of interpretation.
First of all, initiative of thinking of people might be provoked in the museum. For
interpreters, the prior thing they want to achieve is that visitors can be attracted and
give a feedback about their exhibition. In terms of visitors, Michael Baxandall
divided visitors purpose of engaging in the museum into two aspects. Interesting
objects and partly culture are the aims of coming to the museum for people. During
the period of exploring the objects what they are interested in, people might have
desire to know some more relevant objects. In psychology, William
Evoloution of Polar Bears (Lamarck vs Darwin) Essay
The Polar Bear (Ursus maritimus) is a bear native largely within the Arctic Circle
encircling the Arctic Ocean, its surrounding seas and land masses. Although it is
closely related to the Brown Bear, it has evolved to occupy a narrower ecological
forte, with many body characteristics adapted for cold temperatures, for moving
across snow, ice, and open water, and for hunting the seals which make up most of its
diet. Though there are many theories surrounding evolution, the two stand outstanding
hypotheses applying to the modification from Brown Bearto Polar Bear are Lamarck s
theory of Use and Disuse, and Darwin s theory of Natural Selection. The intention of

In 1977 a drought reduced the number of small seeds available for the birds,
forcing them to rely on larger seeds and nuts, which were difficult for birds with
smaller beaks to open. The number of birds unable to eat reduced as they died and
gave way to harder beaked finches. Within a couple of generations they had
evolved larger beaks. In 2003 another drought struck the Galapagos and as there
were many large beaked finches, the food source of nuts dwindled, making the
ability to eat smaller seeds an asset. The numbers of larger beaked birds dwindled
as food became scarce, leaving the smaller birds to survive and reproduce. Darwin s
theory was not well received when first written in On the Origin of Species, though
many scientists today use it as a basis for research in evolution.
Both theories suggest that a species changes over time to be able to better adapt to
an environment. Though Lamarck thought that the entire population of that species
would evolve as one, i.e. all offspring changes together with same adaptation.
Darwin concluded that only the specimen with the mutation or an altered version of
a feature to evolve a species as they would be able to adapt and survive easier than
those without it, thus causing the unevolved to die off while the evolved lived. Over
many many generations the species keeps evolving until it has perfected the new
trait, also becoming a new

Introduction:
An Electronic Institution contains different types of agents playing different roles in
a given scenario. Every scenario is composed of coordination protocol by specifying
their roles in that particular scenario. Every Electronic Institution [2] is composed of
dialogic framework which will establish the language and nature that has to be

Traffic control system here employs police agents to monitor the activities of
vehicles and impose fine for any offence committed by the car agents. Car agents
will follow the norm if they are aware that a police agent is watching and may or
may not obey if they realize the absence of a police agent. To generalize, traffic
control system may setup secret cameras at first to see how many are following the
norm irrespective of the presence and absence of police agent. Depending on the data
collected a decision can be made whether to use a police agent or reduce the
monitoring using a police agent. An Electronic Institution is said to be more
successful if it can adopt itself to a changing environment and such an Electronic
Institution is called Adaptive Electronic Institution and hence the ideal characteristic
of an Adaptive Electronic Institution is it should initiate and control by itself. Some
of the characteristics of an Adaptive Electronic Institution are it should be able to
configure and reconfigure itself under varying conditions; it must be able to optimize
its inner workings; monitor its components and adjust its processing to achieve its
goals; it should able to identify the malfunctioning if any and should be able to repair
itself. Why only an Adaptive Electronic Institution? We have already defined an

Organizational Change Essay
After reviewing and researching the literature with respect to organizational changes,
I have come to the conclusion that organizations have always changed. When
everything in the world is changing, organization cannot remain islands. They must
change to face new challenges. Bolman and Deal (2008) claim organizations have
changed about as much as in past few decades as in the preceding century. Bolman
and Deal (2008) claim means that the change organizations have experienced in the
last decade are almost similar to those they experience in at the end of the twentieth
century. However, in my opinion this is not entirely true, although some of the
changes organizations have experienced in the last decade are a product of changes
and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result of the success these practices have realized, employees tend to embrace
them and reject any changes that do not conform to what they consider the way they
have always done things. Employees usually become conditioned to the idea that the
activities and procedures of the past will continue to be fruitful in future. As a result,
they may reject new development and advancements that they feel would threaten
their value system. It is important to change various aspects of organization culture
when trying to institute change in organizations (Kavita, 2005). The aspects that such
changes should target include the balance of power in the organizations, the
organization structure that supports the framework, leadership and management
styles. Organizational history is also very critical, especially if it has a progressive
track record success. However, if the culture despite the changes remains aligned to
the organization goals and mission the employees will adopt it and embrace change.
Specific societal needs and accountability measures have strongly influenced changes
in organizations throughout the 20th and the 21st centuries. Societal needs are
dynamic and ever changing and, as a result, the push organization to find new ways
of meeting their demand (Kezar et al, 2011). For instance, employees and customers
no longer appreciate being the last to know about new research and development,
Policy Making Analysis
The first three chapters of the Introduction to the Policy Process talks about how our
society makes policy and how different events in the country s history can have
drastic effects on policy, and how these different kinds of policy s can have an effect
on the American people as well. In this country policymaking has been there from the
start after the signing of the Declaration of Independence and our separation from
Great Britain. The readings mention what policy is and its purpose in our government
and the population at large, why policy making is important to study, the elements of
the policy making system, the different environments that can affect policy, and the
historical and structural contexts of policy making in this country.... Show more

One thing that the readings mentions that when we look at the policy making
process, we should look at the separation of powers. The separation of powers in our
government, is the balance that was put in place so that no branch has too much
power, and that each branch can override a decision, that one branch makes when
it comes to policy. The three branches are the executive branch, which deals with
the president, the legislative branch which deals with the House of
Representatives and the Senate, and the Judicial Branch, which deals with the
Supreme Court. Each branch has a separate job to do, and can influence policy in
different ways. For example, the Supreme Court had overruled a policy that had
said that schools could separate kids due to the color of the skin. The Famous
court case of Brown v. Board of Education changed this policy and allowed kids to
go to the same school, regardless of the color of their skin. Many people across the
country knew that the separate schools policy was wrong and the government did
nothing to change it for many years. The court case changed this and overruled a
policy that had been put in place many years ago and created a new policy in its

Transcultural Literature And Contemporary World
Literature
Arianna Dagnino in her essay Transcultural Literature and Contemporary World
Literature points out that with the denationalizing wave of globalization, even
national literatures are under pressure to find new arrangements of form and content
to adapt to a changed cultural and social paradigm. In other words, a mutation is
under way within the global acumen of letters where new notions of belonging, as
well as definitions of selfhood and identity are externalized through new creative
artistic and literary processes. Within this emerging social, cultural, and literary
scenario, scholars feel the urge to identify new relevant literary paradigms, especially
when dealing with the so called New Literatures in English represented by the works
of, say, Zadie Smith, Hanif Kureishi, Kamila Shamsie, Michael Ondaatje, or Joy
Nozomi Kogawa or recently through Animewith its heavy borrowing of motifs from
western canonised literature and its gradual popularity as an emerging form of
literary creativity.
According to Merriam Webster dictionary, anime is a style of animation originating in
Japan that is characterized by stark colorful graphics depicting vibrant characters in
action filled plots often with fantastic or futuristic themes. While Oxford Dictionary
dictates anime as A style of Japanese film and television animation, typically aimed
at adults as well as children , the Urban Dictionary explains anime as a style of
animation that originated and is still heavily centered in

One can also consider why there are now so many overnight mail carriers such as
United Parcel Service and Airborne Express. The second example pertains to the exit
from an industry, specifically, the airline industry in the United States. Pan Am, a
pioneer in public air transportation, is no longer in operation, while some airlines
such as TWA (Trans World Airlines) are on the verge of exiting the airlines industry.
Why, then, have many airlines that operate on international routes fallen on hard
times, while small regional airlines seem to be doing just fine? Managerial economics
provides answers to these questions.
In order to answer pertinent questions, managerial economics applies economic
theories, tools, and techniques to administrative and business decision making. The
first step in the decision making process is to collect relevant economic data
carefully and to organize the economic information contained in data collected in
such a way as to establish a clear basis for managerial decisions. The goals of the
particular business organization must then be clearly spelled out. Based on these
stated goals, suitable managerial objectives are formulated. The issue of central
concern in the decision making process is that the desired objectives be reached in
the best possible manner. The term best in the decision making context primarily
refers to achieving the goals in the most efficient
The Importance Of Life In My Life
Life is like a game of volleyball, unpredictable yet predictable at the same time. The
game of volleyball reflects the same ideas of what happens in my life. Thus, I
created a setup of a volleyball game inside a shadow box to represent the parts of
who I am. I made the volleyball net with white plastic canvas mesh, court lines with
ribbon and players with some of my favorite pictures in the past. I chose this type
of model because there are multiple sides to it. Only one side of it can be shown at
a time but they are all there, this relates to how I present myself to others. In my
opinion, the most meaningful part to the model is the frame. This represents my
foundation, the part that makes me who I am. My parents have taught me
important things in life like character and work ethic from their own experiences.
Both of my parents lead strong examples for my sister and I. They have always
shown me how to be the bigger person by caring for one another and doing the right
and honest thing. For example, if a cashier forgets to scan an item my parents will
either tell the cashier there is another item to scan or go back through the line to
check out. Work ethic is also very important because my parents say, that s where
success begins . Ever since I was a little kid, things haven t come easy to me. I work
hard for everything I do, I m a person who goes the extra mile on each homework
assignment and studies for every single test. My parents give me inspiration and
drive to do

Introduction/Background
Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs) are infections that are caused by a wide
variety of bacteria, fungi, and viruses during the course of receiving medical
treatment or surgical procedures in a health care facility. Bacterial contamination on
various surfaces in the patient s environment, such as door handles, tables,
intravenous (IV) poles, bed rails, or sinks, can be a source of transmission. Pathogens
that cause HAIs including methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA),
Acinetobacter spp., vancomycin resistant Enterococcus spp. (VRE), and norovirus can
survive on environmental surfaces for days to weeks. Clostridium difficile (CDI)
spores may survive on surfaces for months. Treating HAIs has become more difficult
as antimicrobial resistance has increased and the number of effective antibiotics has
declined. Regular surfaces made of plastic, stainless steel, coated metal, and wood are
quickly re contaminated after cleaning. Studies have shown that fewer than 50% of
hospital room surfaces are adequately cleaned when standard chemical disinfectants
are used. Similarly, inadequate cleaning of portable medical equipment has also been
demonstrated. There is evidence that the risk of hand or glove contamination with
antibiotic resistant organisms is high after contact with the surfaces in a patient s
environment. Furthermore, a lower compliance with
A Response to Field Notes from a Catastrophe
The debate is over. Yes, Earth s climate has always fluctuated and drastically variable
eras of weather is far from an unusual notion, but it is the unprecedented pace at
which it is all currently occurring that is of most potent concern. Even the dastardly
right wingers, who ve tactically denied climate change for so long, have joined an
overwhelming scientific consensus about anthropogenic atmospheric deterioration.
Data from the past century has revealed blatant indications of natural systems
breaking down; i.e.: the oceans, used by Earth as a primary mechanism in cleansing
atmosphere of CO2 and seemingly slight temperature shifts are ensuing extreme
consequence.
For Field Notes From a Catastrophe, Elizabeth Kolbert journeys to Alaska,
Greenland, Iceland, Yorkshire, Oregon amongst other places introducing her readers
to a slew of individuals either studying or simply experiencing, aspects of global
warming.
Kolbert s approach involves detailed discussion of excursions with scientists
specializing in specific ecological declines with thorough introduction of each
authority s title, which to many will (hopefully!) authenticate their point of view and
/or legitimatizing their findings.
She also took the time to paint proper pictures of each setting in question, further
enticing an audience to first relate personally before dropping any appropriate
hideous truths to be told. In Iceland, for instance, Kolbert encountered ice sheet
advance and retreat where glaciers

How Did Paul Klee Influence Contemporary Artists
Paul Klee s artwork remains a constant controversy in subject matter and validity of
uniqueness. In order for one to analyze and critique his work, one would have to
understand the metamorphosis of his life experiences, which influenced his creative
philosophy and images he chose to express. His diverse body of work cannot be
confined to any particular artistic movement. In seeking to develop his personal style,
he produced a body of work embodying Impressionism, Cubism, Constructivism, and
abstraction which influenced the works of 20th century contemporary artists. Evident
throughout his oeuvre, the inspiration of contemporary artists and his ideologies of
rhythmic structures and the spiritual nature of artistic expression determined the art...

Kurt Lewin s Theory Of Organizational Development
1.0Introduction
Organizational development can be defined as any situation in which two or more
persons are involved in a common pursuit or objectives. (McLean, 2009) It is a
process that applies a broad range of behavioral science knowledge and practices to
help organizations build their capacity to change and to achieve greater effectiveness,
including increased financial performance, customer satisfaction, and organization
member engagement.(Republic, 2012). Organizational development also can be
defined as a systematic process of unleashing human expertise which must be
supported by the top management. Organizational development is very important

(Ehrich Hansford, 1999). If the mentee is one of the new employee, it is not possible
for the HR managers to know and understand his/her personality. This might cause the
unrealistic expectation from their mentor. Thus, it will affect the performance of the
mentee because of the unrealistic expectation and goal.
To the mentor, according to (Ehrich Hansford, 1999), there are many potential
concerns, for example, do they have the capacities required? Are they to be
rewarder? How will they be selected? Other than these simple issues, those who are
qualified and standout in the organization are already burdened by other job or task.
It must be considered, what if they been selected to be a mentor, can he/she perform
well? Is he/she able to engaged and commit to the new task given?
To the organization, the first main concern is about budget. It is unknown whether
the cost to do the program can be cover by the anticipated outcomes (Ehrich
Hansford, 1999). Other than budget issues, it is also a main concern of the HR
managers, commitment from both parties. The mentoring program cannot be done if
either one of the parties do not commit. It is a waste of time and budget.

Vaccines Vaccine Benefits
Vaccines should be required for children and adults all over the United States
because of all their beneficial purposes and benefits. According to the article, Dear
Jenny McCarthy, Here s How Many Lives Could Be Saved Cheaply By Making
Vaccines More Widely Available, Immunization is one of the most cost effective
public health investments (Matthew Herper). It takes more money to save a child by
giving a vaccine, then to pay for their medical bills when they become sick with a
disease or virus. Usually parents when their child is sick they have to stay home and
lose hours of valuable money and time because their child is seriously ill. If the
parents got their child vaccinated then either the illness would come as strong or not
come at all.
Why Fraternities Should be Banned Essay
Recently, the idea of partaking in a fraternity has become more prevalent. Young
adults are captivated with wanting to live the Greek life. The clothes and parties
seem to drawn in teens like a magnet. However what these teens do not realize is the
terrible things associated with fraternities. Many fraternities have a reputation for
turning college students into drunks, treating women vulgarly, enacting violent
hazing against other fraternity members and disrupting the true reason why students
go to college. For these reasons fraternities should be banned altogether on college
campuses. First of all, fraternities have proven to be a serious reason for underage

Men taking advantage of women is considered a social norm. Also, When
fraternity members admitted to doing things that by law are considered rape they
did not believe that they were rapist. They insist that if a girl is intoxicated then
they are still able to consent to sex. Granted not all Greeks are this way. Many
fraternity members treat women respectfully and contribute greatly to bettering the
college experience. The problem is too many offenders do exist and they have
ruined the once credible reputation of fraternities everywhere. Furthermore,
fraternities are infamous for their requirement to pledge in order to join the
brotherhood. Although the specific acts inflicted on pledges is known only by
members of fraternity, it is commonly known that hazing is part of the initiation.
The pledges have to complete a series of humiliating and sometime dangerous
rituals in order to join. They could be forced to consume excessive amount of
alcohols and drugs, or be physically beaten or be publicly humiliated. Little known
fact, white fraternities generally use alcohol for hazing while black fraternities result
to physical violence. In a survey conducted by Dr. Susan Lipkins 31% of Fraternity

Reformers looking to improve the working conditions of the progressive Era made

by the decisions of the supreme courts. Muckrakers (people who wrote critiques on

Improvements through laws were also made regarding the right to represent oneself
in government as well.
Multiple voices in the United States called for the betterment in the ability for the
people to be self governed which they achieved to an extent, even when limited by the
failure to fully honor and take advantage of the reforms they passed. Blacks received
the right to vote after the civil war, though this success was limited by the fact they
were still not treated as equals (Document I). However women were furious their
suffrage was not included in the amendments; the fury led to a long and hard
campaign for their rights. They felt cheated that the government of the United States
was sympathetic with people around the world who weren t self governed, but turned
a blind eye to the fact that significant number of their own citizens could not vote
either (Document H). Through unions and associations, marches on the capitol and
works of literature despite the reluctance to grant them their rights in the
governmental branches they work of the reformer eventually resulted in the passage
of the Nineteenth Amendment, the right for women to vote. A limitation in the eyes
of the reformers to this success was the lack of complete enthusiasm for women s
suffrage by women, and the lack of a drastic change in the government despite their
argument the addition of women to the ballots would make politics less corrupt.
Another issue that campaigned for the
All Men Are Created Equal Research Paper
Culture and ethnic groups have many strict values and principles when it comes to
war. Most ethnic groups tend to focus on themselves rather than taking into account
the international issues that are occurring. With the advancement of society, these
groups often stand by their morals instead of trying to engage in new ones and
accepting the worldwide conflicts. More often than not, ethnic groups are
discriminated against even after the rise of the concept All men are created equal
(The Declaration of Independence). Yet, this idea is neglected especially in regards
to social status and race. These people have different intentions and repeatedly are
being encouraged to blend into American society and leave their values behind. In the
past, equality and individual rights were portrayed in an extremely different matter
which impacted people s views on freedom today.
In today s generation, converging viewpoints make it difficult for an individual to
speak their own mind without prejudice. Politics have a huge range of diverse
opinions; however, international affairs need to be decided by a nation as a whole.
In the past, politics led to rivalry between the north and the south because of distinct
aspects of slavery and land disputes. Constitutional amendment 15 allowed all men to

Realistically in war, men use all of their willpower to fight for what they believe is
correct, in relation to their moral standards. Even if the outcome is not always
positive, they feel they are doing the right thing. Romantically, war is not seen as
what it really is, and what it really symbolizes. Generally, God is seen a source of
light or guidance. People are very reliant on God, and hope that he will deliver them
from their troubles. These people do not perceive war to be as serious as it truly is,
and often international problems are far
Essay On LDL
2.METHODOLOGY
The current examination was to discover the impact of yogic practices and aerobic
training on low density lipoprotein (LDL) among middle aged women. To get the
reason for this research, 45 middle aged women were randomly chosen as subjects.
Their age was 35 and 45 years. Subjects were teachers of various schools in
Ananthapuramu, Andhra Pradesh, India and, consequently, there was no
distinction in the patterns of daily life, and was later well thought out as a
standardized group. They chose isolated subjects in 2 experimental groups and one
control group with 15 subjects in each (n = 15). Experimental Group I (YPG)
undergoes yoga practices, Group II (ATG) is subjected to an aerobic group and

The National Salvation Front
The National Salvation Front (FSN), led by Ion Iliescu, comprised the new
provisional government. Iliescu gained popularity by proclaiming his role in the
death of CeauЕџescu and championing a new one party democracy (Wolchik and
Cury 318). CeauЕџescu s legacy and the lack of political competition in Romania
led the citizen s of Romania to believe in the empty promises of reform made by
the FSN and Iliescu. The National Salvation Front promised to be a transitional
government and to offer free and fair elections (Wolchik and Cury 317). In May
1990, they offered free, but unfair elections in which Iliescu won the presidency
with over 85% of the vote and the FSN won a majority of parliament with 66% of
the vote (Vachudova 41). Iliescu quickly proved to be anti CeauЕџescu, but not anti
communist. Immediately after his election in 1990, Iliescu began to concentrate his
power by appointing communists to government positions, ousting non communists,
and taking control of the media (Vachudova 45). Anti Iliescu demonstrations in
Bucharest began in response and Iliescu sent miners to violently oppress the
demonstrations (Linz and Stepan 361). Iliescu continued to demonstrate that he
would not allow a strong opposition. A small number of opposition groups managed
to exist in Romania; however, they were small and fragmented. Iliescu was reelected
in 1992, despite his repeated manipulation of illiberal democratic processes such as
rent seeking and partial economic reform. Under
Swot Analysis Of Mac Ride
1.0Introduction
In this capstone integrated project report, the project team explored the firm Ride
More Innovations Ltd. (RMI) and its first product, Mac Ride . Mac Ride is a unique,
front mounted, child seat for mountain bicycles. This report begins by analyzing the
child bike seat industry. Subsequently, RMI s current strategy, potential markets and
competitors across various geographical locations are investigated in detail. Based on
this analysis, different strategies are analyzed before a final recommendation is
suggested. The report also includes an implementation guide for the recommended
strategy as well as a description of the finance required to execute the strategy and
expected results of the strategy execution.

Accordingly, the child can participate in the ride, stand on the stirrups, all while
having fun and learning about balance and speed. Additionally, parents benefit by
having the opportunity to have a real conversation with his/her child without
distractions or having to continually look back. Mac Ride facilitates a closer
connection between parents and children in their bicycle riding experience.
Mac Ride seats are easy to set up and suitable for off road riding, and, therefore,
support an active, engaged experience for children. Once the Mac Ride seat is
removed, the only thing left on the bike is a small spacer ring which blends into the
bicycle design and may go completely unnoticed. Easy removal and installation also
allows parents to exchange the Mac Ride child seat quickly so parents may take turns
exploring and sharing their bicycling adventure with their child.
There do exist conventional front mounted bicycle children s seats. However, they
have limited space and children quickly outgrow the plastic seats which are usually
clunky, aesthetically unpleasing, and difficult to maintain. However, Mac Ride has
extendable legs and a movable seat, allowing children to use the seat for a longer
duration than other conventional front mounted seats. Depending on the size of the
bike and height of the rider, children as old as 6 can easily use and have fun with
Mac Ride.
Furthermore, other front mounted child carriers often force the

the poem up to the reader.
Where did it originate from?
The concept of rearranging previously published works has been around since the

Similarities Between Lenin And Stalin
Lenin and Stalin were similar in a few ways, Lenin s ultimate goal for the Soviet
Union and the Communist party was World Revolution. World revolution was led by
the working class called the proletariat. With that Stalin has some of the similar ideas
but went down a different road to establish his idea and goal. When it comes to
Stalinism, there are essential features that are unique. Stalin used some ideas of
Marxismand Leninism along with his own spin in it. One big difference that makes
Stalin different from Lenin is the policy that each had. Lenin s idea was world
revolution, where Stalin used his idea of socialism in one country. Stalin s socialism
in one country focused more on building up the Soviet Unionand the Soviet Union is

The Five Year Plans were set up by Stalin and his right hand men; they set up these
goals in a few categories of the Soviet Union. It was called the Five Year Plan
because they hoped to achieve everything they set up in five years; once the goals
were achieved they would discuss and set up the next Five Year Plan. In the first
Five Year Plan, it focused on agriculture. Before the plan, the farmers and the
workers essentially worked on their own farms that were run by their families,
allowing them to have the freedom to do as they pleased, but with Socialism on
the brink everything changed. Socialism includes the government in charge of
everything, meaning that collective farming was the new thing. With that farmers
and the peasants were taken away from the farm and then everyone was combined
into what they called a collective farm. This meant that everyone on that farm had
to work together to get the outcome that they wanted. People didn t have the choice
of having their farm put into a collective farm. In the case if anyone didn t like the
idea or spoke out against the actions they would be shipped to Siberia where they
would work for hard labor or they could be shipped to concentration camps. The
idea of dekulakization happened to the kulaks, meaning that if there were villages
that had too many peasants would be liquidated. It was the same concept as
collective farming. A key thing with the Kulaks was that a Rich peasant was a bad
peasant. Stalin s reasoning behind the planned economy and the use of collective
farming would make the Union a better place. With that the government would be in
control of everything. That was supposed to make the Union more efficient and
effective, allowing everyone to have access to and produce more food in order to
feed the growing number of people and
Hitomi Cinderellana Alternate Ending
Konoha was in bloom. And Hitomi Hane hadn t seen anything so beautiful in a
long time like this village. From the banners waving slowly in the summer breeze
to the decorations and tender feeling of love radiating from every citizen, Hitomi
couldn t imagine anywhere she would rather be. Not even her homelands. Her eyes
were wide behind the fabric that covered half of the genin s face, a small smile
appearing on her face as she walked through the streets alone. She would have to
fly up later and get a better view, before they did the fireworks, since she couldn t
remember what the village looked like from the air. Every village was different and
if she wanted to train and become a scouting shinobi, a kanchi taipu, practicing now

She could buy Kiyoshi some flowers, maybe one of those wreaths she saw people
wear? Would he like that? Maybe...but if she got one for herself and then some for
Kiyoshi? Or if she got one for herself, found him, asked if he wanted one and then
got him one? That way she could spend more time with him. The teenager s face lit
up as she jogged over to the flower shop s door, tugging it open. Hitomi s senses
were bombarded from all the blossoms and plants that filled the store. This is so
beautiful... Hi there, can I help you, sir? Too engrossed by the colors and scents of
the flower shop, Hitomi didn t realize that the employee was addressing her. It
wasn t till the shop worker spoke again, looking directly at Hitomi with a smile that
the genin figured it all out. Sir. Suddenly Hitomi was painfully aware of her brown
robes, short hair, and...well her body. She knew she looked like a young boy but
she hadn t been called a guy in a long time as most in Kumokagure knew who she
was as heiress to the Hane Clan. But Konoha didn t know that. Hitomi s face
flushed as she looked down at her feet, shifting nervously, feeling confined in the
shop, too stuck without the sky above her. But to correct the shop worker would be
even more embaressing, for both of them, so Hitomi said nothing to the other
woman. I m...I m looking to buy one of the flower crowns that people are wearing
for the festival... she muttered, trying to make her voice low,

Essay Generation Gap.pdf

  • 1. Essay Generation Gap Writing an essay on the topic of the generation gap can be both challenging and thought- provoking. This subject requires a delicate balance between personal experiences, sociological insights, and a deep understanding of the dynamics that exist between different age groups. The difficulty lies in capturing the essence of a phenomenon that is inherently complex and multifaceted. To start, one must delve into the historical context, examining how societal changes over time contribute to the widening gap between generations. This involves extensive research to understand the various factors that shape the perspectives and values of different age cohorts. Additionally, addressing the psychological aspects of the generation gap requires a nuanced exploration of individual and collective identities. Moreover, the essay should incorporate real-life examples and anecdotes to illustrate the impact of the generation gap on relationships within families, workplaces, and communities. Balancing the presentation of diverse viewpoints is essential to avoid a biased narrative, adding another layer of complexity to the writing process. Crafting a cohesive and insightful essay on the generation gap demands a skillful use of language to convey complex ideas clearly. The writer needs to navigate through the intricacies of intergenerational dynamics, employing a mix of empathy, analysis, and critical thinking. In conclusion, while the topic itself is inherently fascinating, writing an essay on the generation gap is a task that demands a thorough understanding of social, psychological, and historical dimensions. It is a challenge that requires a writer to skillfully weave together research, personal reflection, and illustrative examples to create a compelling and comprehensive narrative. For those who find themselves grappling with this complexity, seeking assistance from resources like HelpWriting.net could provide valuable support in crafting well-rounded essays on this or related topics. • 2. Owl City Interview Writer: Jessica Morris Category: Interview Title: Owl City: Just a day at a time Body: For one of the most well known electro pop artists in the world, Owl City s Adam Young is definitely humble. As soon as I asked him about his latest album Mobile Orchestra, the 29 year old turned my attention to the myriad of duets on studio album number three. It s actually taken me quite a bit longer to make this album than it has to make any of my earlier albums, probably just due to the fact that this album has so many different collaborations and so many different vocal features on it, he shares with PPcorn. It felt so good to get everybody on the same page and to have everyone contribute, and again, I feel so lucky to have all of these collaborations... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s so cool for me to meet those people out and about, it makes things like that so fulfilling, just to write music and just to be honest, shares Young. Still living in the mid west, Young maintains a fairly normal life considering he has sold over 2.5 million albums. I still live in a small town, I still live in the area that I grew up in. In a lot of ways life is not very different now than it was before I started to do music and gained some sort of success. It s always a little bit weird when I come out with a new album and suddenly there are all these opportunities to do interviews and to do press, and to play music live, and to do all these things....I didn t move to LA or New York, I didn t do that whole kind of route. So everything is still pretty normal for me, but strange. But it s very cool, it s strange in the best way that I can describe I guess, so I m very happy. So after all his work on Mobile Orchestra, what does Young want his listeners to take away from it? It s always easy to forget that there s probably scenarios and situations in everybody s life that are sad and that are scary, that nobody else knows
  • 3. Disc-Jockey s Influence On The Music Industry The history of DJ ing is a long path all the way back to the early 1900 s. People had stated to discover that you could have the same effect on a crowd as bands and orchestras but only some sound equipment and songs by yourself. Many people have no idea how long DJ s have been influencing the music industry and what is to be played on radio stations worldwide. The first known disc jockey took his place in history in 1909. Ray Newby of California played records from a small transmitter while he was a student in college at the age of 16. By 1910, radio broadcasts had become a very normal, but still exciting part of life. The world s first DJ dance party was thrown by Jimmy Savile in 1943; he mainly played jazz records for the people who attended these parties. A few years later, Savile became the first person to use turntables live at a dance party so that he could a continuous flow of music playing. In Kingston, Jamaica, promoters would call themselves DJs which would throw giant dance parties in the streets, and DJs would blast their music from huge PA speaker systems. Jamaicans called these party entrepreneurs sound systems. The city of New York became the breeding ground for experimentation with the music and style of DJs. In the 1970 s, DJ Kool Herc and Afrikan Bambatta were deemed the fathers of hip hop , throwing huge... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 4. How Technology Has Impacted The Political System The acronym PERSIA denotes the categories Political, Economic, Religion, Social, Intellectual and Aesthetic into an easy way of remembering one of many systematic models. These six categories are used to organize and explain technology s effect and changes over a long period of time. By categorizing a specific topic or idea, one may easily be able to understand the importance that topic, idea and technology has impacted a person, culture, country, and even history. Thus, providing a new outlook and perspective on history and the factors that contributed to the change in history. Firstly, the PERSIA model breaks into the category, political. Political describes how technology has impacted the political system. Throughout history, technology has caused government, whether it be state and or federal government, to update its laws to accommodate and regulate the use of said technology. Many technological advancements and inventions need to be regulated or added to the law because it causes chaos and interruption and many of the times it causes danger to society. The next category, economic, defines how technology influences the financial market in society and not so much on individuals within society. Rather, it looks at the economics of the society as a whole. By looking at how technology has impacted the economy at a macro level, it is clearer to see how large corporations and big business are affected than the individual consumer. Continuing on, technology effects
  • 5. Thermo-Chemical Storage Systems Essay Thermochemical heat storage can be physical (sorptive) or chemical based on the material used. The storage system which does not involve the production of new compound is called sorptive storage while those which involve formation of new compound are called chemical storage. The successful thermochemical storage system is sorptive storage system that works on utilizing the heatof reaction enthalpy. Thermochemical storage has considerable benefits when compared to sensible and the latent heat thermal energystorage systems since it is easily controllable which prevents the heat loss. The features of sorptive heat storage technology enables the implementation on a large scale. Firstly, charging process of the thermochemical storage method... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The features like increased storage capacity, decreased heat loss to the environment and flexibility of heat storage over a wide range of temperatures makes the thermochemical storage system superior to other storage systems. The sorptive technology involves the absorption or adsorption of molecules through a reaction thereby storing heat. This kind of sorption system results in the formation of physical bond between the reaction pair, adsorbent (A) and adsorptive (B), which has a preferably high energy turnover. The preferred reaction is mostly reversible in order to perform many charge and discharge cycles. A + B ↔ AB + heat (see Figure 2) Figure 2: Schematic diagram of sorptive thermal energy storage technology When charging the compound, heat is applied to substance AB which dissociate into separate A and B molecule/compound. The storage is facilitated by using certain inhibitors that control the reverse reaction. To release heat, the A and B components are reacted by removal of inhibitors, ultimately favoring the reaction, resulting in the formation of compound AB and releasing heat. During this cyclic process, when the reaction between A and B is prevented, the heat which can be stored due to chemical energy cannot be released. The adsorbent such as zeolite (see Figure 3) react with water thereby act as a sorptive storage material where adsorption of water

The first American women s writers opened doors and laid the foundation for future women s writers and readers. Today s women raise children, supervise households, and work outside the home with every modern convenience available, and as you would expect do not find the time to write, except for a grocery list. Early American womenraised children and supervised households without the modern conveniences of today and in some way made time to write the first poetry of the New World. Upon Burning in Our House was a simple style poem about the truth put into simple words, as were all of Bradstreet s poems. Bradstreet tells about faith in God and belongings lost in the poem. Bradstreet addressed her husband, children, God, and community in her poems. Her maternal instinct and dedication were present in her writing. In the poem, The Author to Her Book, Bradstreet compares the poem itself to a child, her child: Thou ill formed offspring of my feeble brain, Who after birth did st by my side remain, Till snatched from thence by friends, less wise than true, Who thee abroad, exposed to public view, Made thee in rags, halting to th press to trudge, These errors were not lessened (all may judge). • 8. The Similarities Between Spanish And Basque In Catalunya If you encounter a native of France or Spain, he will most likely speak French or Spanish, as the national language of his home country. However, a notable number of people speak a cultural language as well. The salience of these languages on the north vs. south side of the Pyrenees Mountains is substantial. Catalan, spoken in northeastern Spainand southeastern France, and Basque, a language isolate spoken in northern Spain and southwestern France, are minority languages. Both are distinct from Castilian Spanish with their own literature, people, and culture. While Basque and Catalan are prevalent in their respective Spanish autonomous communities, the border of the PaГЇsos Catalans (Catalan Countries) and Euskal Herria (Basque... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Catalunya, Catalan is spoken fluently by 85% of the population with 97% claiming they understand ( Generalitat de Catalunya. 6). This mutual intelligibility between Spanish and Catalan suggests that Catalan is only a dialect of Castilian. While many people would like to say this is true, and Spain under Franco attempted to integrate Catalan into mainstream Spanish culture this way (Alguera 89), the Catalan is a distinct language with it s own lexicon, literature, grammar rules, etc. It is a mandatory subject for children in public education in the autonomous community ( Catalans. 109). This contrasts the Basque Country where only 30% of the population is fully fluent in Basque (Gobierno Vasco 17). Interestingly, although Basque is classified as a vulnerable language ( Data on the Basque Language. ) and is spoken by less than a third of the population, the highest concentration of speakers exists in young adults, where nearly 60% of people age 16 to 24 claim to be fluent (Gobierno Vasco 21). I think this trend is interesting because one would think the older generations had the higher percentage of Basque speakers, and the lowest among the younger age groups owing to assimilation to Spanish language and culture. Although Basque and Catalan are recognized co official languages and enjoy considerable clout and use, the situation is very different in France. As the symbol for the national identity of the Basques, scholars have

According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM V), the symptoms of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) include: lack of motivation, oppositional to others, irritability, feelings of guilt and worthlessness, as well as suicidal thoughts and/or tendencies. (Beidel, 201). In fact, William Faulkner s The Sound and The Fury(TSATF) portrays the internal struggle of a man with Major Depressive Disorderthrough the character of Quentin Compson. Throughout TSATF there is a ceaseless sense of meaninglessness. However, according to Kaczmarek, Quentin displays William Faulkner s use of the stream of consciousness: Quentin is the stream of consciousness technique itself ...Also it is hard to disagree that his narrative exemplifies stream of consciousness, so the reader cannot expect grammaticality as if it were a for and against essay. (Kaczmarek, 126). Many excerpts in Quentin s chapter start and fail to end or end abruptly often altering into a different scene or state of mind. The reader often feels a lack of motivation through Quentin, because it is as if he is walking a journey without an end. He is incapable of action and the actions he does commit have a meaningless sense to them. Throughout Quentin s chapter, actions halt and transform into different scenes, never completing the first. For example, when Quentin is at Harvard and his roommate, Shreve, leaves for class he starts to get ready, but then the scene switches to him thinking of Caddy s

According to the Kansas State Universityhousing and dining home page, 020 Forming a Committee, Every College must have an active safety committee. This must be a goal of each Dean. If the Dean desires, departments within a College may also have safety committees. The University Environmental Health Safety Committee recommends that large departments or departments with high hazards have a safety committee. . The people in the car ahead of me with the terrified eyes never even pulled over, they just kept on going. I sat there atop the shrubbery in my sleek black Charger, first laughing and then weeping. In today s American society it s common that people deveolped their own perceptions about insects. In Kafka s Metamorphosis, the story explained how Gregor s family didn t accept his transition. Gregor was practically disowned and treated differently. His family viewed him as disgusting. Therefore,Gregor s experience directly correlates with how people today view insects now. The virus has plagued the African American communities and continues to disproportionately impact the black race more than any other racial or ethnical group. The brunt of the impact of HIV has taken over the African Americanpopulation due to complex set of social, individual and environmental factors. The spread of the disease is the number one cause of death in African Americans, both male and female. It is alarming and at the same time devastating for the African people throughout the world not able to organize and work together to combat the reality of HIV that is invading the black communities. With this alarming epidemic, this paper will identify the internal and external risk factors or challenges affecting the prevention /intervention that has been developed for the African Americans with HIV. African Americans make up 12% of the United States population. Yet, as a group, they are 50% living with HIV. They are the number one group that are affected by this life taking disease and the number one cause of death for HIV/AIDS. • 15. Art of the Italian Renaissance One of the greatest stories from the Italian Renaissance is the one of Fillipo Brunelleschi and Lorenzo Ghiberti. In 1401, the directors of the art of the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral held a contest for artists; to create panels for a the doors on the east entrance (Kleiner, 560 2). Because the east doors faced the cathedral, the people thought it extremely prestigious to be able to participate in such a massive creation. After the first competition round, two finalists remained; Brunelleschi, an accomplished and experienced artist, and Ghiberti, a younger artist, but one with just as much talent. The two competitors were required to create a panel (or square) of Abraham readying to sacrifice Issac. Before reading which was which,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is said that history repeats itself, and in some instances this is true. Many Savonarola situations happened around the world, but one in particular stood out to me as I have read about it before. The Boxer Rebellion, which occurred in China from 1899 to the early 1900 s. A large part of the Western world considered China as less developed than them, despite the fact that China had existed long before these countries. Certain people in China grew very tired of being treated as underlings as they felt that the people of the western world were taking advantage of them. Because of this a secret alliance began; a dangerous union which grew into a desperate attempt to purify China from all western thought. Hence the Boxer Rebellion, which was a formation of young people bent on destroying any and everything to do with western thought. Like the situation involving Savonarola and the destruction of classical texts, participants in the rebellion harmed and killed many missionaries, destroying homes, people, and even hospitals; they burned a racecourse built by the English, and were involved in many lengthy battles. It is evident that the Boxers thought all Western ideas were evil, and they assumed the only way to save themselves was to rid their country of foreign ideas; something that is familiar when compared to Girolamo Savonarola and his frantic actions to purify Florence from humanistic ideas. Ethical Decision Making In American History There are many examples of ethical decisions throughout American history yet few have had a more profound impact on shaping our country then the paths chosen by the American Revolutionaries. Let s face it, had it not been for their actions our country would probably look much different today. If it were not for the foresight of our founding fathers, men like Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, or Thomas Paine (1776), who authored arguably the most compelling piece of political propaganda the world had seen to date, Common Sense. The Revolution became a test of the Americans capacity for virtue (Wood, 204). Revolutionary leaders showed several times over their objective was federal development, not personal achievement. Applying my own ethical philosophy to historical events, I find myself with the same mindset as our forefathers. Colonists found themselves in the gravest of circumstances and while the situation was not at the cusp of catastrophe per se, the British Crowns purpose was clear. Environmental Impacts Of Environmental Disasters Introduction Environmental damage that is caused by just one individual is exclusively minor which causes it to be unnoticed, whereas a major group of people, such as a large corporation harming the environment at once causes major harm to society. More than a century of industrial development has caused negative environmental impacts such as global warming, ozone depletion, and air and water pollution. These are recognized as global environmental problems that need immediate solutions. Climate change, as an international environmental issue, is getting a great deal of attention as it has become a global issue. In the last few decades, there has been a heightened awareness of environmental issues by governments, policy makers, advocacy groups, business firms, and the public all over the world. The corporate role in this, the potentially most severe and all encompassing of environmental disasters, is quite clear as business activities are effecting climate change negatively. This paper will argue that in order to minimize the negative effect of environmental harm and climate change, the undertakings of corporations should be structured and encouraged to perform in a socially responsible manner. This will be examined through the discussion on the legal structure of corporations and the desire of regulators and victims looking to hold them accountable for their environmental harm. It will be followed with a description of the importance of corporate social responsibility. This

However, in Tilden s opinion, the purpose of interpretation is not to control people s mind, but rather inspiriting visitors to think actively and find out deeper truth. Specifically, there are two main aims of interpretation. First and most important, people need to have desire to increase interests and acquire knowledge. People s interest is an important element to decide not only whether they like to go to museums or not and the topic and trend of exhibition in the museum, but also what visitors can gain and their feeling of experience in the museum. There is a close relationship between interest and action.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In other words, interpretation in the museum needs to provoke the mind and spirit of human and enable them to think the essence and further things. In the museum, as an operator of history and culture, interpreters can make an effect on how visitors think, feel and their attitude. The responsibility of interpreter is to develop the objects from the apparent to the essence, from a part to the whole, from the fact to its value and potential truth. This is also the reason why Tilden regards provocation as the prior aim of interpretation. Nowadays, the main aim of museum has surpassed education. It is certain that the real meanings of interpretation are stimulating visitors and having a further thinking. And only provoking visitors can achieve this purpose. The essay below will mention several reasons that why provocation should be the chief aim of interpretation. First of all, initiative of thinking of people might be provoked in the museum. For interpreters, the prior thing they want to achieve is that visitors can be attracted and give a feedback about their exhibition. In terms of visitors, Michael Baxandall divided visitors purpose of engaging in the museum into two aspects. Interesting objects and partly culture are the aims of coming to the museum for people. During the period of exploring the objects what they are interested in, people might have desire to know some more relevant objects. In psychology, William

In 1977 a drought reduced the number of small seeds available for the birds, forcing them to rely on larger seeds and nuts, which were difficult for birds with smaller beaks to open. The number of birds unable to eat reduced as they died and gave way to harder beaked finches. Within a couple of generations they had evolved larger beaks. In 2003 another drought struck the Galapagos and as there were many large beaked finches, the food source of nuts dwindled, making the ability to eat smaller seeds an asset. The numbers of larger beaked birds dwindled as food became scarce, leaving the smaller birds to survive and reproduce. Darwin s theory was not well received when first written in On the Origin of Species, though many scientists today use it as a basis for research in evolution. Both theories suggest that a species changes over time to be able to better adapt to an environment. Though Lamarck thought that the entire population of that species would evolve as one, i.e. all offspring changes together with same adaptation. Darwin concluded that only the specimen with the mutation or an altered version of a feature to evolve a species as they would be able to adapt and survive easier than those without it, thus causing the unevolved to die off while the evolved lived. Over many many generations the species keeps evolving until it has perfected the new trait, also becoming a new

Employees usually become conditioned to the idea that the activities and procedures of the past will continue to be fruitful in future. As a result, they may reject new development and advancements that they feel would threaten their value system. It is important to change various aspects of organization culture when trying to institute change in organizations (Kavita, 2005). The aspects that such changes should target include the balance of power in the organizations, the organization structure that supports the framework, leadership and management styles. Organizational history is also very critical, especially if it has a progressive track record success. However, if the culture despite the changes remains aligned to the organization goals and mission the employees will adopt it and embrace change. Specific societal needs and accountability measures have strongly influenced changes in organizations throughout the 20th and the 21st centuries. Societal needs are dynamic and ever changing and, as a result, the push organization to find new ways of meeting their demand (Kezar et al, 2011). Bacterial contamination on various surfaces in the patient s environment, such as door handles, tables, intravenous (IV) poles, bed rails, or sinks, can be a source of transmission. Pathogens that cause HAIs including methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Acinetobacter spp., vancomycin resistant Enterococcus spp. (VRE), and norovirus can survive on environmental surfaces for days to weeks. Clostridium difficile (CDI) spores may survive on surfaces for months. Treating HAIs has become more difficult as antimicrobial resistance has increased and the number of effective antibiotics has declined. Regular surfaces made of plastic, stainless steel, coated metal, and wood are quickly re contaminated after cleaning. Studies have shown that fewer than 50% of hospital room surfaces are adequately cleaned when standard chemical disinfectants are used. Similarly, inadequate cleaning of portable medical equipment has also been demonstrated. There is evidence that the risk of hand or glove contamination with antibiotic resistant organisms is high after contact with the surfaces in a patient s environment. (Ehrich Hansford, 1999). If the mentee is one of the new employee, it is not possible for the HR managers to know and understand his/her personality. This might cause the unrealistic expectation from their mentor. Thus, it will affect the performance of the mentee because of the unrealistic expectation and goal. To the mentor, according to (Ehrich Hansford, 1999), there are many potential concerns, for example, do they have the capacities required? Are they to be rewarder? How will they be selected? Other than these simple issues, those who are qualified and standout in the organization are already burdened by other job or task. It must be considered, what if they been selected to be a mentor, can he/she perform well? Is he/she able to engaged and commit to the new task given? To the organization, the first main concern is about budget. It is unknown whether the cost to do the program can be cover by the anticipated outcomes (Ehrich Hansford, 1999). Other than budget issues, it is also a main concern of the HR managers, commitment from both parties. The mentoring program cannot be done if either one of the parties do not commit. It is a waste of time and budget. 4.0

According to the article, Dear Jenny McCarthy, Here s How Many Lives Could Be Saved Cheaply By Making Vaccines More Widely Available, Immunization is one of the most cost effective public health investments (Matthew Herper). It takes more money to save a child by giving a vaccine, then to pay for their medical bills when they become sick with a disease or virus. Usually parents when their child is sick they have to stay home and lose hours of valuable money and time because their child is seriously ill. The clothes and parties seem to drawn in teens like a magnet. However what these teens do not realize is the terrible things associated with fraternities. Many fraternities have a reputation for turning college students into drunks, treating women vulgarly, enacting violent hazing against other fraternity members and disrupting the true reason why students go to college. For these reasons fraternities should be banned altogether on college campuses. First of all, fraternities have proven to be a serious reason for underage drinking and binge drinking. Also, When fraternity members admitted to doing things that by law are considered rape they did not believe that they were rapist. Many fraternity members treat women respectfully and contribute greatly to bettering the college experience. The problem is too many offenders do exist and they have ruined the once credible reputation of fraternities everywhere. Furthermore, fraternities are infamous for their requirement to pledge in order to join the brotherhood. Although the specific acts inflicted on pledges is known only by members of fraternity, it is commonly known that hazing is part of the initiation. The pledges have to complete a series of humiliating and sometime dangerous rituals in order to join. They could be forced to consume excessive amount of alcohols and drugs, or be physically beaten or be publicly humiliated. Little known fact, white fraternities generally use alcohol for hazing while black fraternities result to physical violence. In a survey conducted by Dr. Susan Lipkins 31% of Fraternity and sorority members agree that a significant element in an initiation rite is humiliation. Also, many of the Greek Leaders agree that

Improvements through laws were also made regarding the right to represent oneself in government as well. Multiple voices in the United States called for the betterment in the ability for the people to be self governed which they achieved to an extent, even when limited by the failure to fully honor and take advantage of the reforms they passed. Blacks received the right to vote after the civil war, though this success was limited by the fact they were still not treated as equals (Document I). However women were furious their suffrage was not included in the amendments; the fury led to a long and hard campaign for their rights. They felt cheated that the government of the United States was sympathetic with people around the world who weren t self governed, but turned a blind eye to the fact that significant number of their own citizens could not vote either (Document H). Through unions and associations, marches on the capitol and works of literature despite the reluctance to grant them their rights in the governmental branches they work of the reformer eventually resulted in the passage of the Nineteenth Amendment, the right for women to vote. • 44. All Men Are Created Equal Research Paper Culture and ethnic groups have many strict values and principles when it comes to war. Most ethnic groups tend to focus on themselves rather than taking into account the international issues that are occurring. With the advancement of society, these groups often stand by their morals instead of trying to engage in new ones and accepting the worldwide conflicts. More often than not, ethnic groups are discriminated against even after the rise of the concept All men are created equal (The Declaration of Independence). Yet, this idea is neglected especially in regards to social status and race. These people have different intentions and repeatedly are being encouraged to blend into American society and leave their values behind. In the past, equality and individual rights were portrayed in an extremely different matter which impacted people s views on freedom today. In today s generation, converging viewpoints make it difficult for an individual to speak their own mind without prejudice. Iliescu gained popularity by proclaiming his role in the death of CeauЕџescu and championing a new one party democracy (Wolchik and Cury 318). CeauЕџescu s legacy and the lack of political competition in Romania led the citizen s of Romania to believe in the empty promises of reform made by the FSN and Iliescu. The National Salvation Front promised to be a transitional government and to offer free and fair elections (Wolchik and Cury 317). In May 1990, they offered free, but unfair elections in which Iliescu won the presidency with over 85% of the vote and the FSN won a majority of parliament with 66% of the vote (Vachudova 41). Iliescu quickly proved to be anti CeauЕџescu, but not anti communist. Immediately after his election in 1990, Iliescu began to concentrate his power by appointing communists to government positions, ousting non communists, and taking control of the media (Vachudova 45). Anti Iliescu demonstrations in Bucharest began in response and Iliescu sent miners to violently oppress the demonstrations (Linz and Stepan 361). Iliescu continued to demonstrate that he would not allow a strong opposition. A small number of opposition groups managed to exist in Romania; however, they were small and fragmented. Iliescu was reelected in 1992, despite his repeated manipulation of illiberal democratic processes such as rent seeking and partial economic reform. Under

World revolution was led by the working class called the proletariat. With that Stalin has some of the similar ideas but went down a different road to establish his idea and goal. When it comes to Stalinism, there are essential features that are unique. Stalin used some ideas of Marxismand Leninism along with his own spin in it. One big difference that makes Stalin different from Lenin is the policy that each had. Lenin s idea was world revolution, where Stalin used his idea of socialism in one country. Stalin s socialism in one country focused more on building up the Soviet Unionand the Soviet Union is general.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Five Year Plans were set up by Stalin and his right hand men; they set up these goals in a few categories of the Soviet Union. It was called the Five Year Plan because they hoped to achieve everything they set up in five years; once the goals were achieved they would discuss and set up the next Five Year Plan. In the first Five Year Plan, it focused on agriculture. Before the plan, the farmers and the workers essentially worked on their own farms that were run by their families, allowing them to have the freedom to do as they pleased, but with Socialism on the brink everything changed. Socialism includes the government in charge of everything, meaning that collective farming was the new thing. With that farmers and the peasants were taken away from the farm and then everyone was combined into what they called a collective farm. This meant that everyone on that farm had to work together to get the outcome that they wanted. People didn t have the choice of having their farm put into a collective farm. In the case if anyone didn t like the idea or spoke out against the actions they would be shipped to Siberia where they would work for hard labor or they could be shipped to concentration camps. The idea of dekulakization happened to the kulaks, meaning that if there were villages that had too many peasants would be liquidated. It was the same concept as collective farming. A key thing with the Kulaks was that a Rich peasant was a bad peasant. Stalin s reasoning behind the planned economy and the use of collective farming would make the Union a better place. With that the government would be in control of everything. That was supposed to make the Union more efficient and effective, allowing everyone to have access to and produce more food in order to feed the growing number of people and
