A Framework for Optimizing the Process of Energy Harvesting from Ambient RF S...IJECEIAES
Energy harvesting has been an active research topic in the past half a decade with respect to wireless networks. We reviewed some of the recent techniques towards improving energy harvesting performance to find that there is a large scope of improvement in terms of optimization and addressing problems pertaining to low-powered communicating mobile nodes. Therefore, we present a framework for identifying available RF sources of energy and constructing a robust link between the energy source and the mobile device. We apply linear optimization approach to enhance the performance of energy harvesting. Probabilility theory is used for identification of event loss in the presence of different number of nodes as well as node distances. The objective of the proposed system is to offer better availability of RF signals as well as better probability of energy harvesting for mobile devices. The proposed technique is also found to be computationally cost effective.
Mobile devices such as smart phones, have gained enormous popularity over the last few years. Smart phones are now capable of supporting a large number of applications, many of which demand an ever increasing computational power. However, Battery life of mobile devices remains a key limiting factor in the design of mobile applications. This paper firstly emphasizes on reviewing various techniques used to enhance battery life of smart phones. At the end, on the basis of comparative studies, suggestions are given to extend the energy efficiency of smart phones.
Indonesia is currently carrying out an industrial revolution 4.0. This
revolution discusses the application of technology in the industrial sector,
one of which is the agricultural sector. In addition to discussing the
application of technology, this revolution also supports the use of renewable
energy sources and one of them is the application of solar energy. The
application of technology in the agricultural sector is expected to help
farmers in maintaining crops to reduce the possibility of crop failure. The
existence of this statement makes researchers conduct research in the design
and construction of systems with internet of things (IoT) technology and
utilize solar energy sources as energy sources for the system. The IoT
system will utilize the ATmega328P+ESP8266 RobotDyn microcontroller
by utilizing the DHT22, MD0127, soil moisture sensor, and BH1750FVI
sensors and sending data to Thingspeak by utilizing the internet network
with HTTP communication protocols. The system can monitor ecological
factors in gardens with a fairly good degree of accuracy and the utilization of
solar energy can run the system properly.

SMARTPHONE PREVENTIVE CUSTOMIZED POWER SAVING MODESijujournal
The postulate of this paper is that current smartphones' power saving modes can be improved towards
saving more power and/or gain more user satisfaction only if they start following “preventive” and/or user
customized power saving plans. We develop a number of preventive power saving modes that save the
battery power without the need of using the power of the same battery for detecting abusage. It will be
supporting the user with a preventive plan that could give him/her an idea about what to run or don’t run.
Another issue of current power saving modes is the “One Size Fits All” philosophy which does not take
into consideration the factors that could distinguish different smartphone users, for example, the nature of
the workspace of the user (Indoor/Outdoor), the age, the gender and/or the user’s applications categories
of interests. The paper develops a strategy to match a smartphone power saving mode with its perfect
smartphone user by classifying smartphones users into classes depending on a set of different factors and
having the user to identify himself/herself to the smartphone before the first use.

DESIGN OF INTELLIGENT DEVICE TO SAVE STANDBY POWER IN NETWORK ENABLED DEVICESIAEME Publication
Network connectivity is rapidly expanding to a range of new device groups that offer both wired and wireless network functionality. In 2012, 74% of Internet Protocol (IP) traffic and 94% of consumer Internet traffic originated from personal computers (PCs). By 2017, analysts predict that 49% of IP traffic and 39% of consumer Internet traffic will originate from non‑PC networked enabled devices. For network enabled devices, the most appropriate method of energy consumption reduction would be the total disconnection reduced time of operation since they are used infrequently. Automatic Power cut-off and Reset Device is the device which will avoid the standby power consumption.

Instant Access of Power Usage through IP Enabled Electronic Power MeterIJERD Editor
Nowadays Electrical Energy is a vital resource for human being for their day to day activities. It is
very important to know the usage of electricity to regulate the consumption. The power usage is a very
important criterion in places like domestic purpose, industries, public places, etc. At the end of every month as
soon as the electricity bill arrives we may be surprised because of over usage, we may get more bill amount and
in turn electrical board may demand us pay more ASD (Advanced security deposit). To overcome this problem
we propose the new idea of enabling the digital meters to send the instant power usage statistics through
Internet. It is very important to know about the basic knowledge of what is electricity meter, how to measure the
amount of electrical energy (in watt hour [Wh] units), and power consumption by house hold equipments or
devices. We should also know the tariff of the Electrical board for each unit in various domains. By using all
these data we can provide an effective regulation of power usage and in turn which leads to expected electrical
bill amount. This paper gives a new approach towards instant access of power usage details through IP enabled
electronic meter to minimize or reduce the day to day electrical power consumption.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
