company, is the holding company of rhic. Rel went public in nov 2007,
oversubscribed 159 times. Hq in new delhi is registered as a nbfc.
 Rhic commenced operations in 2012 as a joint venture between union bank of
India ( 5th largest public sector bank) corporation bank ( now merged with union
bank of India) & Macquarie group( Australian multinational independent
investment bank, HQ in new south wales, world’s largest infrastructure asset

 Religare recently has been in the news for having obtained the arrests of Malvinder

they were in charge. Similar misappropriation charges are also being investigated
against them for swindling of approx. Rs. 2,000 crores in the Fortis healthcare group,
once founded & promoted by them.
Religare Health Insurance Company Ltd(RHIC)

Wockhardt Hospitals
 Pharmaceutical company Wockhardt designed an initiative to enhance
employee connect through engaging with them beyond the boundaries
of work and beyond the employees themselves – extending the idea to
their families.
 Wockhardt calls this programme ‘Engagement Beyond Work’. Each year,
it brings together hundreds of family members to indulge in a plethora of
activities such as arts, craft, box-cricket, cake-making, Zumba, career
counselling and so on. The initiative takes place across 14-15 locations in
India. What makes it so unique is the fact that the programme is
strategically organised during the summer break of school children, for four
consecutive weekends so that most employees and their families can
participate.
Wockhardt Hospitals
 Children of different age groups are sorted and grouped for appropriate
activities in art and craft, games and so on. Children also receive career
counselling depending on their age group. In addition, there are separate
sessions for housewives on diet and nutrition, childcare, parenting tips and so
on.
 Prem Singh, president, global human resources, Wockhardt, says, “Engagement
as a concept is not limited to work place alone. It’s not limited to employees
alone. It goes beyond the boundaries of work. It touches the hearts and souls of
people. This is what we have learnt over the past three years.”
 Another unique and touching feature of the programme is that it felicitates
employees’ children who score more than 75 percent in their board
examinations. By doing so, the company truly shows that it cares for its
employees, their hard work, their hardships, happiness and success
 Wockhardt also has other fun and engaging initiatives such as ‘dandiya’ or
‘garba’ during the Navratras.
Other Employee Engagement
Activities – Wockhardt Hospitals
 The CEO holds a town hall meeting twice a year and gives the opportunity for all
employees to ask questions and provide feedback.
 Numerous events throughout the year to promote teamwork and a family
atmosphere (i.e. international potluck event, annual holiday party, monthly
“socialcise” events, volunteer opportunities, company retreats, etc.
 Recently added short term disability benefits at no cost to employees and gave
everyone Christmas Eve off this year, since it falls on a Monday, allowing everyone
to have a long holiday weekend. (2017)
 Increments as per the Employees’ performance.
 The leadership team regularly reviews employee suggestions and implements
changes when suggestions are reasonable and feasible.
 Regular training to make sure the Employees are able to cope with requirements
and are aware of the ongoings of the organisation.
Thank you.
