7. TAPPING
• KC: “Even though
_______ (name issue)”
• “I’m a great kid anyway/
I’m ok/ I accept myself”
• other points: ________
(issue)
• Inhale, exhale, drink
• Rate again
• Tap again if needed
8. KEEP TAPPING!
• You can tap on: stress, fear/worry, test
anxiety, bullying, resilience, self esteem
and more…
9. What is EFT?
• It is a fine blend of Traditional
Acupressure and Modern Psycho-
therapeutic methodologies (NLP).
What is so special about EFT?
• There are no drugs. There are no side-
effects. People don’t have to RELIVE the
pain. You don’t have to BELIEVE that EFT
will WORK for you. You just have to try.
And it’s free of charge.
10. The Discovery Statement
• The most fundamental theoretical base of EFT,
the so called "Discovery Statement", follows:
• The cause of all “negative” emotions
is a disruption in the body's energy system.
• It should be noted that EFT does not suppress
emotions! If something stops bothering the
person after treating it with EFT, it's because it
got energetically diffused and not because
we "covered" it with something else or because
we forced the logical reframing of it.
11. Testing
• On a scale of 10 – 0, 10 being the highest
imaginable pain/upset/distress/fear/sadness,
discomfort, and 0 being completely calm, pain
free, tranquil, relaxed and happy, how would
you rate what you are experiencing at this
moment?
• Use this for emotions as well as for physical
sensations:
• How depressed are you right now?
• How painful is your leg?
• How bad is your fear of heights?
• How distressing is this memory?
• How much do you dislike this person?
12. Testing Your Changes
• Before you begin tapping for any subject or
problem make a mental note of your feelings on
a scale of 10 – 0. Then when you have
completed tapping reassess how you feel.
• Sometimes, the problem can go from as high as
10 to as low as 0 in a single round. More often
though, there is a gradual change in the severity
of the problem, going from say 8 or 9 after a
round of tapping to a 4 or 5.
• This means that the treatment is beginning to
work but there’s more to be done.
13. Tuning into the problem
• To direct the tapping to the required area,
we focus the mind on the problem by
using a statement of the problem:
• “I am afraid of heights”.
• Choose a statement that rings true to you
using words that make sense to you and
you alone.
• The more forthright, direct and truthful you
can be, the more profound a change you
will experience.
14. Tapping Tips
• It is not about being positive or negative,
it is about the truth.
• A very important principle of EFT is that:
• You have to be specific!
• Is it necessary to apply EFT on emotional issues
to treat physical problems? It is recommended.
Physical problems have emotional causes and
they manifest in the body in the form of physical
symptoms. Tapping on the hidden emotional
core issues is very important to get relief from
physical problems.
15. Setup Statements
• “Even though I am feeling bad about this
situation, I deeply and completely love and
accept myself”.
• “Even though A PART OF ME thinks
that ____________, The REST OF ME
KNOWS that ____________ and I’m
WILLING/CHOOSING to ____________.”
• "Even though ____________, I'm doing
the best I can, and I deserve love."
16. How long do I Continue Tapping?
• How long do you continue exercising?
• You exercise daily and take medicines
when required. Right? In the same way
EFT is a tool for life time.
• Apply it when required and also
use it daily to improve your emotional
and physical well being.
17. Why is EFT so simple?
• In reality, lots of impossible things are
actually simple. E.g. – regular intake of
water can prevent lots of problems, which
is very simple. In EFT even though it looks
simple, in order to get relief from chronic
problems, the art of delivery is required.
Targeting the core issues, linking past and
present indicators of any problem,
applying the advanced techniques in EFT
etc come with experience.
18. ALL TAPPING YOU DO
IS GOOD FOR YOU
• There is no need for you to worry about
getting it wrong.
• Any tapping you do stimulates the
meridians, relaxes and calms you, and
makes you feel a little better, even if your
opening affirmation didn’t quite “hit the
mark”, and the original problem has not
yet shifted.
