Emergency first-aid kits could be delivered faster by drones stationed at pharmacies. When 911 is called, the drone would take 30 seconds to prepare, then fly at a safe height to the incident coordinates and descend, dropping off a first-aid kit and smartphone for an ER nurse to provide guidance. Testing in Manhattan showed drones could reach anywhere in the city within 7 minutes, faster than average ambulance response times. The system aims to select facilities to minimize response times across Manhattan.
