Ethnographic Analysis Of Discipleship Plan
Introduction Discerning the mission of God, for a congregation in a particular community, is one
of the most important tasks of the church. Through discernment a congregation can come to
understand how God is calling them to faithfully participate in the inbreaking of the Kingdom of
God in a particular place and around the world. The following is a comprehensive study of Lansing
Woodview Church of the Nazarene including a detailed ethnography, a sermon series, discipleship
plan and a short term mission project to shape the congregation to the end of discerning where God
is calling the congregation to faithfully participate in the mission of God.

to predict the future impacts of these factors on Arcadia Group. The main points are discussed:
Political Factors: taxation policy, competition policy, environmental problems.
Economical Factors: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This means that Arcadia Group is a very stable company and its leaders should not worry about
taxation policy in the future.
Political factors also cover such areas as competition policy, environmental legislation, employment
law, stability of the political system, trade restriction and tariffs etc. According to
www.hoovers.com, the main competitors for Arcadia Group are Next PLC, Marcs amp; Spencer
group PLC and Debenhams. These companies are also very popular and successful not only in the
UK, but also in other European countries. As Worthington and Britton claim (2006), UK
government competition policy has largely been concerned with regulating market behaviour and
in particular with controlling potential abuses of market power by firms acting singly or in concert
in specific markets. In the future Arcadia Group will not become a monopoly, because of such
strong competitors and a very strict UK government competition policy.
Concerning environmental problems Arcadia Group has a responsibility to lower the impact on the
environment. The company makes every effort to reduce consumption of valuable resources such
as energy, water and fuel. They are constantly developing ways to increase the efficiency and reduce
fuel consumption in their transport operations. And company is working hard to ensure they lower

Chaucer s Pandarus And Foucault s Theory Of Power

Chaucer s Pandarus and Foucault s Theory of Power 2319 Words 10 Pages
If Geoffrey Chaucer for some unforeseen reason was unable to published The Canterbury Tales,
then perhaps, his version of Troilus and Criseyde would be widely acknowledged as one of his
most epic tragic poems. However, Chaucer s poem, though adapted widely into various modern
translations, for the sake of this paper the translation by Barry Windeatt will be used, the tale s
influential go between is still a character trope used today. In fact, the romantic entanglements that
the main characters find themselves in are the results of the power structure established by the go
between Pandarus. From the first instance where Pandarus witnesses his friend Troilus s ... Show

In fact, Pandarus is the character that upholds the courtly love power structure within the tale,
because Pandarus is interested in the social interactions of the different characters. Additionally,
Pandarus uses his position as Troilus friend in order to gain power from the social situation that
arises, where Troilus befallen with love sickness needs an advisor to aide in his conquest of a lady.
Therefore, Pandarus becomes the go between because he derives power from the ability to
position individuals in complex and strategic social structures in order to maintain the courtly love
notions. In fact, as Schoeck deduces, Courtly love is sensual...Courtly love is illicit and, for the
most part, adulterous. Indeed, in the courtly system marriage has no place (4). Thus, Pandarus
reiterating the meaning of his name in Chaucer s text by establishing is position of power through
being the go between for Troilus and Criseyde, acknowledges that the dishonor of his niece is not
his concern because, Courtly love was exalted under the system as a virtue, which ennobled those
who practiced the art (Schoeck 6). Therefore, Pandarus did not view his act to bring the two lovers
as a means to subvert the honor of his niece Criseyde, but rather saw that the social relations of the
individual is one of the most important components of political change (Hartsock

Negative Effects Of Photoshop On Society
Seerat Gidda Professor Michelle Superle English 105 November 20, 2017 Effects of Photoshop
on Society Research Essay Draft 3 No one can make you feel inferior without your consent, once
said by the famous Eleanor Roosevelt. As true as that may be, the advances of technology in the
modern era make that difficult. Photoshop, an image editing software that allows you to alter
images limitlessly, is one of the biggest dilemmas facing society today. Photoshop has the power
to manipulate an image s appearance beyond recognition, making it possible to transform an
average looking individual into a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world ( Brown 87). This act of photo
manipulation didn t begin with Adobe Photoshop, a photoshop software that has been accused of
sabotaging the truthfulness of photographs, but rather it began long before in the 1800s when
techniques like hand colouring and retouching were done physically by the photographer s hands
instead of a computer s (Fineman dust jacket). The use of photoshop, or the act of photo
manipulation, has a negative impact on society. It causes self esteem issues and possibly even
eating and mental disorders due to the viewers being falsely directed by flawless images that distort
reality. In recent discussions of modern photography, a controversial issue has been whether photo
manipulation is ethical. On one hand some argue that photoshop has enhanced and expanded
photography exponentially as an art form making the possibilities

Mary Shelley s Frankenstein And The Exploration Of This...
What does it truly mean to have human consciousness? In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein, the
exploration of this question, acts as an overarching theme throughout the novel. Starting from the
creation of Dr. Frankenstein s monster in chapter V of the story, Frankenstein himself has to come
to terms with the fact that he truly believes he has created a monster, and the creature itself has to
begin to understand why he has this label of a monster, even after he begins to see the humanity
within himself. Though the assumption throughout the entire novel remains that this creation does
not have any sort of humanity, that fact cannot be argued as easily, as his morality, ethics,
intelligence and emotions come to light in chapters XV and XVI; all very traditionally human
characteristics. Soon the only truly unhuman traits about the monster is his unorthodox entrance
into the world in a lab and his discomforting physical features. Whether or not this creation is truly a
monster can no longer be easily discernable and what truly characterizes a human soon comes into
question. In our world today we must address the same conundrum. As artificial intelligence
becomes more advanced and continues to progress into thinking and feelingon their own, what
should their treatment involve in our world? If advanced artificial intelligence fits the criteria of
human consciousness, why should they not have the rights we do as human beings? My essay will
first explore the criteria for human

Norway and Its Climate Changes
Climate change is a major global issue and is a pressing issue in Norway as well. The country has
ratified the Kyoto Protocol and signed on to other treaties regarding the state of the earth. Similar to
its history, current climate changes may have adverse effects on the culture and economy of
Norway. Two significant climate changeissues in Norway are carbon dioxide (CO 2) emissions and
the warming of the ArcticOcean; both have important impacts on both Norway and the world.
Climate change is not a new phenomenon for Norwegians. Some historians believe that slightly
over two thousand years ago the climate in Norway drastically changed from tropical conditions to
frigid conditions, slightly more extreme than there is today (Larsen ... Show more content on

Some animals that will be affected include reindeer, certain birds, and fox. Aquatic animals will
also be affected by the decline in sea ice and the warming water temperatures. Certain fish will
not be able to tolerate the increased temperature and their population will decrease, which could
be detrimental on the Norwegian fishing industry. A third significant impact the decrease in sea
ice in the Arctic will have on Norway is increasing marine access to oil, gas and other mineral
sources (ACIA 114). As a student of how weather and climate affect society and climate change,
it would seem that an increase in access to oil and mineral sources could have a detrimental effect
on any progress in reducing carbon emissions. If Norway is able to increase its oil production,
then there would be an increase in carbon emissions as well, which is something that the country
has been trying to reduce for over a decade.
The decrease in sea ice and the retreat of glaciers has occurred in Norway before. At the end of
the Ice Age, over 10,000 years ago, hunters and gatherers followed the glaciers as they retreated
north, pursuing migratory reindeer herds, which is similar to what scientists predict the reindeer
will do again in the near future (Lonely Planet). There is a difference between the warming of the
climate ten millennia ago and the warming of the climate today: today scientists have reason to

The Impact Of Alexander I On Russia
Alexander I was the Tsar at the time Napoleon marched his Grand Army of more than 600,000 men
into Russia during June of 1812. The Russians called this war the Patriotic War due to the strong
resistance and outstanding endurance that ensued by the entirety of the population. The Russians
retreated for much of the war and the French advanced at a quick and efficient pace, conquering
much of Russiaon the way to Moscow. Napoleon was under the impression that once Moscow had
been captured and occupied, the Tsar would capitulate. However, this was not the case.
On September 14, 1812, what is now known as the Fire of Moscow broke out. The majority of
historians attribute the initial fired to the Russian army as a form of sabotage. Вѕ of the

There are many ways to brush up on your history and some options are decidedly more
interesting than others. The average individual may not consider history as their favorite subject
in school, however, Michael Zomber might disagree. If you have spent any time in the antique
arms arena you will probably have heard of Michael Zomber. Unlike some antique collectors
Michael has devoted decades of his time and effort to the actual study and preservation of historic

goes much further than that as he joins forces with others who are just as passionate as he

Non Violent Protests In The Civil Rights Movement
Throughout the 1950s and the 1960s, civil rights activists started protesting for change. In the US
and Australia there were many significant protests undertaken by different groups of brave
individuals all to invoke change. Some of the most influential protests were the Montgomery Bus
Boycott and the American and Australian Freedom Rides. These protests mainly used the tactic of
non violent protests however, they also used boycotts and demonstrations. These protests brought
great change to the way that the African Americans were treated in the US and the Indigenous
people in Australia, because it forced the public to acknowledge the hardships that they had to face
from segregation. The main tactic used by civil rights activists in both Australian and the United
states was non violent protests. This is when the activists would protest with methods that would
not harm anybody. This was done because the civil rights activists did not want to sink down to
their oppressor s level and also so that no legal action could be inflicted on the African American
community. The freedom rides in the United States were perfect examples of non violent protests
as the leaders of these actions would not harm anybody in the course of change. Martin Luther
King was a key aspect of the entire Civil Rights Movement including the Freedom Rides and he
believed that Nonviolence is a powerful and just weapon, which cuts without wounding and
ennobles the man who wields it. It is a sword that

Penetration Testing
Using penetration testing to enhance your company s security Based on the fundamental principle
that prevention is better than cure, penetration testing (pen testing) is essentially an information
assurance activity to determine if information is appropriately secured. Conducted by penetration
testers, sometimes referred to as white hats or ethical hackers, these tests use the same tools and
techniques as the bad guys ( black hat hackers ), but do so in a controlled manner with the express
permission of the target organization. Vulnerability scans versus pen testing A common area of
confusion is the relationship between vulnerability scanning (automated) and pen testing (expert
driven manual testing). Both involve a proactive and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This would involve the testing of Android, iOS and BlackBerry applications that can help
organizations pinpoint and correct flaws in their mobile applications as well as understand the
risks posed by new mobile platforms. There are numerous other types of penetration testing that
include social engineering, physical security testing and password security testing. In 2012, Trust
wave did over two million network vulnerability scans and found that some 5% of all passwords
involved some variation of the word password Password1 was the most commonly used because it
satisfies the complexity rules for many systems including the default settings for Microsoft s
widely used Active Directory identity management software. What makes a good pen tester?
Defining the required body of knowledge that a penetration tester needs to know is quite difficult to
describe succinctly. Certainly some typical traits are a strong theoretical computer science
background and an extensive and broad foundation of practical knowledge with respect to operating
systems and software used within the enterprise. Naturally on top of this needs to be layered an in
depth knowledge of attack and penetration techniques that don t always lend themselves well to
being assessed through typical interview scenarios. Therefore many hiring managers will look for
candidates with a minimum level of experience working in a full time penetration testing role with
companies the

Avon s Direct Selling Model and its Sales Representatives A Tangible Resource
As a direct seller Avon did not rely on classic advertising and marketing methods, but on door to

the company and over the years this has proven to be its distinct source of competitive advantage as
well (Exhibit 8).
Here we are trying to apply the tests for competitively valuable resources to the direct selling model
of Avon.
1)Test of Inimitability As a tangible resource, this has been inimitable because of the fact that Avon
s sales representatives were mainly women who wanted part time jobs. This was further re inforced
given that Avon s concentration was on beauty related products and most of these women were
easily trained on these products. This helped them in reducing the cost of advertising and

The Varying Representations of Jesus in the Bible and the...
An prophetic figure common to both the Bible and the Qur an is Jesus, however, Jesus is

The main difference between the two depictions of Jesus is the portrayal of his divinity. In the
Bible, Jesus Christ is seen as the Son of God, the Messiah, who was sent to the earth to spread
the Good News and who was ultimately sacrificed himself to purge the sin of humanity. The Qur

a holy being who was sent to guide humanity. In the Bible Jesus is part of the Holy Trinity and
was conceived through the Holy Spirit. This is shown in the bible passage, which reads:
The angel answered, The Holy Spirit will come down to you, and God s power will come over you.
So your child will be called the holy son of God (Luke 1:35) (International Bible Society, 1984)

No one has ever seen God. The only son, who is truly God and is closest to the Father, has shown

The Controversial Matter Of Abortion
The highly controversial matter of abortion has been lurking in and out of many governmental
discussions and debates. It has lasted for many decades and was highly practiced until the 1880s
when laws and regulations were put into effect. Recently, this topic has been brought up once again
and is focused on areas mainly the Southern and Western parts of the United States. Abortionis one
of those topics where it can go either way; it s either pro life or pro choice. Both are two very
different sides that are so sensitive it can reach out to many people on multiple levels of their
emotional and mental state of mind, due to their many religious beliefs. Along with that, it is
blown up and mixed in with the negativity of social media and that is a clear the problem and
decisions become biased. It comes to these questions that makes me wonder about who should
be involved? And why does there have to be only one right choice for abortion and not a neutral
side? Or that why can t abortion simply be accepted by society after many decades of voting and
reforming the same laws? The only thing that separates one side from the other side is the
argument of the right to life , which is pro life. It is when a girl or a woman has an unplanned
pregnancyand must under any circumstances keep the baby from when it is conceived until when
the child is born unless the mother has a life threatening situation that involves the baby. However,
a pro choicer has somewhat of a different out look on

people essential but it s important to market at the right time and place. Time and place deal
mainly signifying the time of the year a specific sponsorship is shown. The Western and Southern

Airplane Of Hope Speech
Airplane of Hope
Dear Mr.Hawkins , my former, history teacher, I know you are set in your idea that the destruction
of the Berlin Wall was the turning point of WWll, I strongly disagree. Even though there were
significant, life changing, humanitarian efforts made by the U.S, the Berlin Airlift was one of the
greatest of these efforts. This was one of the strongest humanitarian efforts made because America
supplied food for the starving people of West Berlin, granted them the gift of hope when there was
nothing left to hope for, and assisted every step of the way until the terrible separation between
East Berlin and West Berlin. When the Soviets took their share of Germany with France, Britain,
and the U.S., the Soviets made the choice to separate Germany into eastern and western divisions.
This was done so that they could extend communism into a war torn Europe. After World War
Two, there wouldn t have been any better timing. The war gave them an open door to start
communism all over again because no one would ve been able to stop whatever came in their path.
The events leading to the Airlift began with Russia s iron fist and persistence to conquer
everything. The Russians prayed that the poverty and a war torn Western Europe would give them
the chance to spread communism into the western half of Europe (Griffin). In the beginning, a plan
which was filled with solely hope in the beginning, slowly unraveled in front of the world s eyes as

Windows 8.1 vs Maverick
Windows 8.1 versus Mac Maverick OS
1) Multi tasking
Microsoft leads over OS X with 8.1 by allowing users to run up to four apps on the screen at
once. You can t even snap two windows side by side on OS X Mavericks. Just as important, you
can now snap two Modern apps side by side and have them both take up half of the screen.
Multitasking on OS X Mavericks hasn t improved much. For the most part, OS X is best for
unitasking because of its ability to run many apps at full screen.
Winner: Windows 8.1. An improved Snap function makes Microsofts OS the better bet for
multitaskers.
2) Sharing and Social Integration

info in the cloud. Everything gets encrypted and pushed to your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
Winner: Windows 8.1 The accessibility of files from more types of devices and improved
integration.
Result:
The choice between OS X and Windows has always been fairly simple for those on a tight
budget. If you don t want to spend $999 or more on a new notebook, a Mac isn t the right choice
for you. But when it comes to the overall experience on comparable hardware, the choice
becomes more difficult. Windows 8.1 builds upon the touch friendly strengths of Windows 8
while better catering to desktop users. This OS is better at multitasking than OS X Mavericks,
and SkyDrive is more robust than iCloud. OS X Mavericks isn t all that ambitious a release
compared to the upcoming iOS 7, but it does beat Windows 8.1 in many key categories. While
not as dynamic, Mavericks interface is easier to use because there aren t two competing
environments (desktop and tablet). Mavericks also does a better job with notifications and search,

The Debate Concerning The Trinity
Trinity Heresies
The debate concerning the Trinity has been a constant debate throughout history. This debate has
continued on through modern day. As we study the different opinions and beliefs on God the
Father and His Son, we can see a pattern were the Trinity is not fully understood by many. In this
paper, I will discuss The Arian Controversy. I will describe what Arius believed concerning God
and His Son. Then I will share my thoughts and facts that will show what Arius taught was not
correct.
The Bible has so much information about God and his Son. There really should not be any
confusion or controversy over who they are and how they function. But we would be living in a
fairy tale land if everyone agreed on this subject. There is no ... Show more content on

Now that we have some understanding of what Arius was teaching. I will now begin to defend
against his view of God and the Son. Let s begin with addressing that fact that the Son was not a
creature. The Son was God in the flesh. He walked upon earth to spread the gospel and bring
salvation to a sinful world. The prophet Isaiah even writes about the Son before he was born.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he
will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).
The Son was more than flesh, he was the fullness of God. Let s look at the subject of creation.
Arius believes that the Son did not exist during creation. I tend to disagree with his observation.
Jesus Christ is viewed as the creator and the savior of humanity and nature (Langdon, 2015, p.
455). Since God and the Son are one and can t be divided, then He would have to be present at
creation. I believe that the Son and the Holy Spirit both have been with God since the beginning.
According to John 1:1 2, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
Word was God. He was with God in the beginning . This verse alone is pretty clear on the fact that
the Son was with God during creation. The last statement I will address concerning Arius s
teachings, will be that the Son is changeable. According to Arius, the Word has a

Is the atmosphere of our planet warming consistently, and at a more rapid pace than ever before,
and is it being caused by human consumption? This question is the basis for the dispute on Global
warming. It is this century s largest debate. There are scientists, politicians, and civilians on both
sides of the debate. Scientists have determined that the Earth has cooled off and warmed up
several times over its long history. I do not believe that a reasonable person would deny that there
is the potential for the Earth to repeat this pattern at some point in the future. The real point of
contention is then in reference to the cause. Some scientists believe they have found a correlation

Any good pediatrician will tell you that a mild fever is the body s way of healing itself. You
shouldn t rush in with Tylenol to lower a fever of one hundred degrees Fahrenheit or less. If our
bodies work this way who is say that the Earth isn t operating on a similar system? Scientists
began to search for additional information, older information, which would lend credence to their
theory. This information is known as proxy data. Proxy data exists in tree rings, ice cores,
sediment cores, historical data, fossilized pollen, and coral (i). This data is not a direct indication
of carbon dioxide or temperature, but a study of elements that have existed on our planet long
before the wide usage of instruments to record information. Utilizing a variety of statistical means
to arrive at their conclusions scientists compiled this information in support of the theory of
climate change. Ice that has been drilled out of the depths of Antarctica and Green land can date
back 800,000 years. The air bubbles found here show an increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide.

The poem, God’s Grandeur by Gerard Manley Hopkins is an...
The poem, God s Grandeur by Gerard Manley Hopkins is an Italian sonnet, which closely follows
the traditional Italian rhyme of ABBAABBA, and then CDCDCD. (Shmoop) There are also several
words throughout the poem that rhyme within themselves. For example God, rod, trod, shod all
rhyme. Gerard Hopkins liked to use sprung rhythmin which the stressed and unstressed syllables
have a complicated relationship, and the message desired from the reader can change the rhythm.
(Shmoop) Sprung rhythm allows each person to read the poem differently and take away what
they wish. The speaker of this poem has lost faith in humanity and their treatment of the world
God had granted us. However, in the second half of the poem, the speaker shows his views of the
world and its connection to God.
In the first stanza of God s Grandeur, the speaker is amazed at the greatness of God. However, he
is dismayed by the way people treat God s creation. God himself directed humans to care for
their world. Genesis 2:15 says, The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden
to work it and take care of it. (Genesis) Mankind s treatment of the Earth obviously did not
measure up to the standard that the speaker has envisioned. This is clearly visible in lines four
through seven, Why do men then now not reck his rod? Generations have trod, have trod, have
trod; and all is seared with trade; bleared, smeared with toil; and wears man s smudge and shares
man s smell. (God s) The

The banana was used as the main source in this experiment because the main objective was to
find out if a fruit could charge an iPhone without being plugged into an actual outlet. In this lab,
the Coke acts as an acid and the banana is potassium. The RCA cables were used as connectors
to stick one side into the banana and the other side in the Coke itself. The Coke can is used to
basically start the chemical reaction by the RCA cables that are put inside it which in return is
still connected to the banana. Just like plugging the cables into a television, the red cable is
usually used for right analog audio (the red goes in at the top end of the banana which is to the
right) and the white cable is usually used for mono analog audio (the white goes in at the end of
the fruit which is to the left.) The team used an iPhone because something electronic had to be
used in this particular experiment to get the results that we were looking for so an iPhone was the
chosen item. The iPhone charger is used to put into the Coke can while it is plugged into the actual
iPhone to see if we get results or not; this determined whether or not the iPhone can be charged by a
fruit. If the iPhone comes on, this indicates that it is charging through the chemical reaction and if
it doesn t, this could possibly mean the chemical reaction wasn t strong enough, something went

Financial Statements Of Cash Flow
The statement of cash flow is one of the financial statements that shareholders tend to evaluate to
ensure that all transactions are properly stated in each of the three activities mentioned above;
operating, investing, and financing. The statement of cash flows is also commonly overlooked by
both the balance sheets and income statements numbers.
The cash flow statement is important for the business as it brings valuable information that can
help evaluate a corporation. The statement will show if the business is low on money even if the
financial statements shows that is profitable. It will reflect if the owner withdrew to much cash from
the corporation. It will also reflect the principal payment of a loan and the correct amount used to
acquire equipment, property, and other assets that the income statement will not show. The absence
of this statement can hinder the operation of a business as the owner could easily fall in the
negative (loss) by not having eyes on the cash out flow exceeding the cash inflow.
Therefore, the adaptation of having a statement of cash flows becomes essential to any business or
organization. With the adaption of such a system personnel such as stakeholders become essential.
Stakeholders are a key role personnel when it comes to motivating the employees, acquiring
resources to assist on the final decision or final project, provide a valuable input, and ultimately
build trust with to increase consensus at the final decision making. The

The objective of experiment H was to identify an unknown compound using only infrared
resonance (IR) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. IR helped determine the
functional groups present in the molecule. NMR helped solve the structure of the molecule. The
first step to solving my molecule was analyzing my IR spectra. The broad bands at 2958cm 1
indicated C H alkane stretches. These stretches were sp3 hybridized bonds since they did not go
past 3000cm 1. I found a strong carbonyl (C=O) stretch at 1736cm 1, an ester. In the fingerprint
region, there was a C O stretch at approximately 1182cm 1, consistent with an ester. The next step
to solving my unknown was to identify the molecular formula. To do this, I used the rule of 13....

The absorptions in NMR were calculated from left to right. The reasoning behind this is because of
protons that shield (up field) or de shield (downfield). Factors that influence shielding/de shielding
depend upon electron withdrawing/electron donating protons. If the protons on a molecule were
more electron withdrawing, the molecule will be more deshielded. If the protons on a molecule
were more electron donating, the molecule will be more shielded. Looking downfield, Ha showed
absorptions at approximately 4.1ppm. The range for hydrogen s attached to a single bonded oxygen
is at approximately 3.5 4.8 ppm. Hydrogen s attached to carbon in this region were deshielded
because of the electronegativity of the oxygen (electron withdrawing). Looking up field, Hb
was at approximately 2.3ppm, which is the chemical shift range for alpha hydrogen s (2.1
2.5ppm). Alpha carbons were carbons that were directly attached to a carbonyl. Because the
carbon in this region is an alpha carbon, its attached hydrogen s were alpha hydrogen s. The
absorptions for Hc were at approximately 1.6ppm. Hd s absorptions were at approximately 1.4
ppm. Both Hc and Hd were in the chemical shift range for CH2 bonds. He and Hf were the most

Improving Current System Of Police Reporting
5.5 Improvement to Current Situation
According to five factors that have been proposed, we had suggested some recommendations to
improve current system of police reporting in Malaysia which is the Police Reporting System
(PRS) to ensure that the function of the PRS will definitely helped to record and transfer the report
in a better and easier way.
5.5.1 Role
As mentioned above, role is very important factor in police reporting in order to make the report,
received statement from complainant, and most important thing is to transfer the report to
another police officers. As a recommendation, police organization in Malaysia can organize or
provide a training program for police personnel on duty at the enquiry office about the use and
maintenance of the PRS so that they can write the report quickly and also they know the function
for every single menu and button of the PRS. Plus, if the PRS are breakdown, the police
personnel will know how to fix the problem. Thus, it wills not wasting time to wait for the
technical team to fix the problem and also they no need to write the report manually in POL 55
and re type it once the PRS was fixed.
Besides that, enquiry officer also are encourage to more than one language. For instance, if the
complainant who come over to lodge a report does not know to speak Bahasa Malaysia, the enquiry
officer are able to speak another language like English, Mandarin, Tamil or any language that easy
to understand by the complainant.

Difference Between Dominate And Recessive Genes
What is the difference between dominate and recessive genes?
Genes help determine the characteristics and traits consisting of: eye, skin, hair color, etc. Each
gene contains two alleles one coming from the mother and the other from the father, one being
dominant and the other recessive. The dominant allele is typically expressed, while the recessive
are not generally expressed. A dominant allele makes a pair with a recessive allele. The dominant
allele determines the traits visibly expressed as phenotypes the genetic code working behind a trait
in known as the genotype (Your Genome, 2016).
What is the difference between heterozygous and homozygous expression of genes?
The genetic material that determines the trait is known as the genotype, which at times it is
said to be homozygous (a person containing two recessive/two dominant alleles coming from
both parents) or heterozygous (a person having one recessive/one dominant allele from both
parents). It is typically common for a child to have brown eyes when one parent has a recessive
allele and the other a dominant allele allowing it to override the other. However, if both parents

Importance Of Descartes On Physiology
Hitherto, I have explained some elements concerning Descartes and vitalistic theories about
physiology. On the one hand, I have highlighted that Descartes approach to physiology is founded
on his mechanical conception of nature, which allows him to use the laws of nature in order to
explain the particular functioning of the human body. In general, Descartes argues that God creates
matter in a uniform way and he separates it, creating individual bodies, through the introduction of
motion in the system. Accordingly, Descartes conception of matter denies the very possibility of
the existence of certain individual properties of matter, on the assumption that every matter particle
has been created in the same way and is affected by the same laws. Thus, Descartes explains that
the laws of nature have a broad scope, and their universal application is based on the metaphysical
conception of the regularity... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, in his World, Descartes explains that heat and light are explicable in terms of the
motion of the particles which constitute the flame or the Sun the luminescent bodies of nature. In
his description, Descartes argues that When flame burns wood or some other similar material, we
can see with the naked eye it sets the minute parts of the wood in motion and separates them from
one another, thus transforming the finer parts into fire, air and smoke, and leaving the coarser parts
as ashes (AT XI, 7). Clearly, this mechanical explanationcontradicts the vitalist conception of the
qualities of the bodies which make them flammable. In vitalistic terms, the capacity of burning a
body has is explained because of a quality in it which makes it flammable: a heat quality or a light
quality explains the presence of this visible effects in bodies like the Sun or a flame. For Descartes,
this positions are nothing but the result of a productive

Ethiopia Research Paper
Many spots on the globe lay claim to being the origin of human civilization, my paper will argue the
Ethiopia deserves such a title. Although I am Ethiopian decent, I will support the claim through
historic evidence and many written studies proves that Ethiopia is the origin of humankind and
civilization. Ethiopia is a country in northeastern Africa. It is the only African country to
successfully resist European colonization, and was one of the first in the world to adopt
Christianity as the religion of the state. Ethiopia is the one landlocked country in the world with the
most inhabitants, and is also the home of archeological sites. The name Ethiopia has its own
special verbiage and vocabulary.
Ethiopia1 was also once historically known as Abyssinia, and it comes from an Arabic word
meaning mixed a reference to the country s many ethnic groups diversified tribe. Another name
for Abyssinia is Habesh, an early Arabic form of Ethiosemitic name Habasat. Habesha is another
term Ethiopians use to refer to themselves. Habesha is a term of pride and used to eliminate the
distinction between different tribes and celebrate unity as people of the same country. Habesha
means diverse . It comes from geez word habe which means single thing or element. The word ...

What makes the Ethiopian cuisine an exception is, its rich, spicy stews and diversity of tastes.
The spice berbere is a combination of Ethiopian chili pepper blend with many dried spices of
ingredients which gives an amazing flavor to the food. Berbere means hot or spicy in Amharic.
The spices and flavors that compose and define Ethiopian cuisine come from millennia of trade and
cultural exchange with the Middle East, Asia and the Mediterranean. It s this fusion of culinary
influences blended with Ethiopia s indigenous ingredients that make the flavors of its food so

Capssaicin Research Paper
Capsaicin is a chemical that is found in chili peppers which causes the heat when you eat spicy
foods. In order to detect the capsaicin that is found in the foods that you eat, your body has
receptors on sensory neurons. The receptors are known as capsaicin receptors and found in the
dendrites of the sensory neurons better known as nociceptors. (Caterina) When your body receives
that feeling of pain or heat, it is due to capsaicinreceptor recognizing capsaicin, but also the ability
of the capsaicin receptor to act as an ion channel, which is found in a category known as the
transient receptor potential channels. (Fox) Capsaicin will stimulate and excite the capsaicin
receptor. When the receptor is excited it allows the entrance of Calcium (Ca+2) and Sodium
(Na+). (Fox) When the calcium and sodium rush into the cell it will cause the cell to depolarize.
Once the cell depolarizes, it will cause the action potential. The action... Show more content on

In order to relieve that feeling many people attempt to drink water, but that is not going to help
the feeling, milk is a much better choice. Capsaicin likes to bind to lipoproteins, therefore
capsaicin will bind with the casein found in milk. (Why Does Chilli Burn, And Why Does Milk
Help Soothe The Pain?) If you attempt to drink water, the capsaicin will continue to bind to the
receptors in your mouth. As capsaicin is binding to the receptors the nerve cells are stimulating
that pain sensation. (How to Neutralize Hot Foods in the Mouth) Knowing that capsaicin will bind
to the casein found in milk instead of the receptors on your tongue and in your mouth, the more fat
found in the milk the faster your will relieve that burning feeling from your mouth. It is after
capsaicin bind to the casein that it can be washed away from your mouth allowing for relief. (How

Sri Lanka Development Stratergies
1. Introduction
Sri Lanka s development policies are being reoriented under the stewardship of the United People s
Freedom
Alliance (UPFA) Government, aimed at acceleration of economic growth with special
consideration given to pro poor growth strategies. The development strategy consolidates positive
elements of the policies followed over the past two decades and revisits the weaknesses, limitations
and lapses in past policies in order to ensure equitable development in the country.
As stated in the Economic Policy Framework, 2004 Creating our Future, Building our Nation 2004
and further articulated in the budget 2005, the new development strategy is premised on pro poor

Human Development Index (HDI) Sri Lanka ranked 96th with an index of 0.740 among 177
countries, in
2004. However, poverty still remains an issue affecting nearly one in four Sri Lankans on average.
It is a major challenge in several provinces where the incidence of poverty is much larger in
magnitute.
The sectoral composition of the economy has changed from that of an agriculture based economy to
one dominated by the services sector. The services sector has been the highest contributor to GDP, at
56 per cent, followed by the industrial sector at 26 per cent and the agricultural sector at 18 per
cent in
2004. Liberalization, private sector participation and increased competition have contributed to the
expansion of the services sector, with buoyant performance in transportation, communications,
financial services, trade and tourism. The performance in the agricultural sector is an important
determinant of
GDP, as this sector directly accounts for around one fifth of national output and employs over one
third of the workforce. Its importance is larger than these figures indicate because of links between
agriculture, manufacturing and services.
The manufacturing base is dominated by the apparel industry, although the production of food and
beverages, as well as chemical and rubber based goods, is also important. Industrial exports are

Six Types Of A Chemical Reaction
Some people may ask what exactly is a chemical reaction? A chemical reaction is a process that
involves rearrangement of the molecular or ionic structure of a substance. There is six types of
chemical reactions named Synthesis, Decomposition, Single Replacement, Double Replacement,
Combustion, and Acid base reactions.
Synthesis is when two or more reactants combine to form one product. Synthesis always forms a
compound. The equation for synthesis is A + B AB. Water, which is H2O is a good example of a
synthesis reaction. An example of a synthesis reaction is when a metal or nonmetal reacts with
oxygen to form an oxide. One way that synthesis reactions connect to the real world is salt. Salt is
a synthesis reaction of NaCl which is sodium chloride. The equation would be Sodium (Na) +
Chlorine (Cl) Sodium Chloride (NaCl) and this would make it a synthesis reaction.
The opposite of a synthesis reaction would be a decomposition reaction. A decomposition
reaction is when one reactant is broken down into two or more products. This means a compound
is broken down into separate products. The equation would be the opposite of synthesis which is
AB A + B. An example of a decomposition reaction is 2H2O 2H2 + O2. The lab we did in chemistry
class called Electrolysis of Water is a good example of decomposition because decomposition was
produced by passing an electric current through the substance in the container with the screw and
nail inside which represent the

Theme Of Magic Realism In The Mistress Of Spices
In this present technologically superfast world, where the click of buttons is changing the way
people think, plan and execute their works and live their lives, virtual reality , surrealism , hyper
reality are the terms in vogue. They are so commonly used everywhere that they may not seem
fanciful any more. However, the excitement in superstitions, magic and mysticism still prevails.
India has always caught the imagination of foreigners as the land of hidden secrets it is viewed as
a hub of cosmic energy and emerging super power. The secret of Ayurvedas, the variety and depth
in art forms like dance and music are equally attractive as Kamasutra and Yoga. The co existence of
various religions, cultures, languages has always been a source of amazement. The festivities, the
rituals and the mythological significances keep the attraction alive.... Show more content on

Magic realism is intermingling of reality with fantasy or imagination with the use of folk lore,
fables, and mythological stories in such a way which captures the sensation of the audience in
spite of knowing the truth. It is done to generate either a feeling of awe or wonder or merely to
escape from reality and find some freshness from monotony. The central character Tilottama
(shortened as Tilo) born as Nayan Tara, (star of the eye) also means Star seer was Destiny s child
who could foresee the future of her people in some remote village in India. She attracted
attention of the pirates who re christened as Bhagyavati, Bringer of Luck and took her away
from her parents to use her powers for their glory and fame. They plundered and looted and
amassed riches with the powers of Bhagyavati, the sorceress the pirate queen. She is frustrated
when her powers are exploited by the pirates. The sea snakes come to her rescue when she calls on
one of the five elements Water. Then magically they appear and take her

Taking a Look at Mine Warfare
Mine warfare is the strategic, operational, and tactical use of sea mines and the countermeasures
to defeat them. These weapons are so dangerous and efficient which is why foreign navies and
even terrorist possess these weapons. The history of these weapons goes back to 1776; a year
after our nation s Navy was born. A man named David Bushnell created a mine that was
composed of a watertight keg, filled with black powder and a flintlock detonator which was
suspended from a float (Levie). The kegs were first used in the Delaware River to destroy British
ships downriver during the Revolutionary War. Along with the creation of the floating mines,
Bushnell also created a drift model of the mines that exploded on contact. As time went on, the
Naval Branch increased in size and so did the evolution and use of mines. Around 1863,
Confederate Congress established the TorpedoService whose mission was to sow southern
waterways with the kegs, which were very inexpensive at the time. It was not until World War I
when mines were being laid across the seas in large amounts to prevent German U boats from
destroying our warships. Almost twenty five years later, during the Second World War, modern
magnetic, acoustic, and pressure sensitive mines were first developed. The deployment of mines by
submarineand aircraft suddenly came into play, which spark inventors to begin developing counter
measures. Along with these counter measures, the military begin to establish a base line by which all

In this case study, the intangible factors include Kelly s cultural propensity towards emphasising
her entitlement to use her accumulated sick leave while Mr. Higashi s cultural propensity towards
respect for his employer and expectation of his subordinates means that he believes the ALT s
should utilise their paid leave entitlements first.
It is initially hard to distinguish which of these tangible or intangible factors are more important.
Based on the cultural dimensions and values identified further in the report, it is clear that each
has its own importance and merit. Understanding the cultural norms and expectations at play in the
case study are critical to resolving the conflict at hand. Whilst Kelly believed she had adequate
prior knowledge of the Japanese culture, it is clear that she is not as well versed as she thinks.
Mr. Higashi has a responsibility to his employees (which include the Japanese workers) to ensure
that equality prevails in the workplace and the hierarchical, masculine structure is preserved. As
detailed in section 3, Japanese culture is about hard work, loyalty, and honour. If Kelly were to
take her concerns directly to CLAIR without first attempting to resolve them with Mr. Higashi, she
may inadvertently bring shame to Mr. Higashi and cause him to lose face (Lewicki, 2011).
Although Kelly has tangible considerations at play, the intangible factors associated with Mr.

Clemson University Personal Statement
CLANG! The cell door slammed open, snapping me from my dazed state. Two years ago, I was
intoxicated to the point that I fell asleep on the basketball courts adjacent to my apartment, was
arrested, and in the process of that arrest, ignored the lawful requests of the arresting officers. That
night and the following morning I found myself alone in a cell with nothing but thoughts of
incredulity, self disappointment, and regret running through my mindas my future at Clemson
University remained in question. In the morning, as I was being processed, one key idea, like a
lighthouse s beacon, flashed through my mind; that I was solely responsible for my decisions and
the consequences they wrought. This is a fact of life that we are all taught from birth, but it was
one I never fully appreciated until there were real world consequences. That realization,... Show

These companies are also very popular and successful not only in the UK, but also in other European countries. As Worthington and Britton claim (2006), UK government competition policy has largely been concerned with regulating market behaviour and in particular with controlling potential abuses of market power by firms acting singly or in concert in specific markets. In the future Arcadia Group will not become a monopoly, because of such strong competitors and a very strict UK government competition policy. Concerning environmental problems Arcadia Group has a responsibility to lower the impact on the environment. The company makes every effort to reduce consumption of valuable resources such as energy, water and fuel. They are constantly developing ways to increase the efficiency and reduce fuel consumption in their transport operations. And company is working hard to ensure they lower

  • 6. Chaucer s Pandarus And Foucault s Theory Of Power M Chaucer s Pandarus and Foucault s Theory of Power 2319 Words 10 Pages If Geoffrey Chaucer for some unforeseen reason was unable to published The Canterbury Tales, then perhaps, his version of Troilus and Criseyde would be widely acknowledged as one of his most epic tragic poems. However, Chaucer s poem, though adapted widely into various modern translations, for the sake of this paper the translation by Barry Windeatt will be used, the tale s influential go between is still a character trope used today. In fact, the romantic entanglements that the main characters find themselves in are the results of the power structure established by the go between Pandarus. From the first instance where Pandarus witnesses his friend Troilus s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In fact, Pandarus is the character that upholds the courtly love power structure within the tale, because Pandarus is interested in the social interactions of the different characters. Additionally, Pandarus uses his position as Troilus friend in order to gain power from the social situation that arises, where Troilus befallen with love sickness needs an advisor to aide in his conquest of a lady. Therefore, Pandarus becomes the go between because he derives power from the ability to position individuals in complex and strategic social structures in order to maintain the courtly love notions. In fact, as Schoeck deduces, Courtly love is sensual...Courtly love is illicit and, for the most part, adulterous. Indeed, in the courtly system marriage has no place (4). Thus, Pandarus reiterating the meaning of his name in Chaucer s text by establishing is position of power through being the go between for Troilus and Criseyde, acknowledges that the dishonor of his niece is not his concern because, Courtly love was exalted under the system as a virtue, which ennobled those who practiced the art (Schoeck 6). Therefore, Pandarus did not view his act to bring the two lovers as a means to subvert the honor of his niece Criseyde, but rather saw that the social relations of the individual is one of the most important components of political change (Hartsock ... • 7. Negative Effects Of Photoshop On Society Seerat Gidda Professor Michelle Superle English 105 November 20, 2017 Effects of Photoshop on Society Research Essay Draft 3 No one can make you feel inferior without your consent, once said by the famous Eleanor Roosevelt. As true as that may be, the advances of technology in the modern era make that difficult. Photoshop, an image editing software that allows you to alter images limitlessly, is one of the biggest dilemmas facing society today. Photoshop has the power to manipulate an image s appearance beyond recognition, making it possible to transform an average looking individual into a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world ( Brown 87). This act of photo manipulation didn t begin with Adobe Photoshop, a photoshop software that has been accused of sabotaging the truthfulness of photographs, but rather it began long before in the 1800s when techniques like hand colouring and retouching were done physically by the photographer s hands instead of a computer s (Fineman dust jacket). The use of photoshop, or the act of photo manipulation, has a negative impact on society. It causes self esteem issues and possibly even eating and mental disorders due to the viewers being falsely directed by flawless images that distort reality. In recent discussions of modern photography, a controversial issue has been whether photo manipulation is ethical. On one hand some argue that photoshop has enhanced and expanded photography exponentially as an art form making the possibilities ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Mary Shelley s Frankenstein And The Exploration Of This... What does it truly mean to have human consciousness? In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein, the exploration of this question, acts as an overarching theme throughout the novel. Starting from the creation of Dr. Frankenstein s monster in chapter V of the story, Frankenstein himself has to come to terms with the fact that he truly believes he has created a monster, and the creature itself has to begin to understand why he has this label of a monster, even after he begins to see the humanity within himself. Though the assumption throughout the entire novel remains that this creation does not have any sort of humanity, that fact cannot be argued as easily, as his morality, ethics, intelligence and emotions come to light in chapters XV and XVI; all very traditionally human characteristics. Soon the only truly unhuman traits about the monster is his unorthodox entrance into the world in a lab and his discomforting physical features. Whether or not this creation is truly a monster can no longer be easily discernable and what truly characterizes a human soon comes into question. In our world today we must address the same conundrum. As artificial intelligence becomes more advanced and continues to progress into thinking and feelingon their own, what should their treatment involve in our world? If advanced artificial intelligence fits the criteria of human consciousness, why should they not have the rights we do as human beings? My essay will first explore the criteria for human ... • 9. Norway and Its Climate Changes Climate change is a major global issue and is a pressing issue in Norway as well. The country has ratified the Kyoto Protocol and signed on to other treaties regarding the state of the earth. Similar to its history, current climate changes may have adverse effects on the culture and economy of Norway. Two significant climate changeissues in Norway are carbon dioxide (CO 2) emissions and the warming of the ArcticOcean; both have important impacts on both Norway and the world. Climate change is not a new phenomenon for Norwegians. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some animals that will be affected include reindeer, certain birds, and fox. Aquatic animals will also be affected by the decline in sea ice and the warming water temperatures. Certain fish will not be able to tolerate the increased temperature and their population will decrease, which could be detrimental on the Norwegian fishing industry. A third significant impact the decrease in sea ice in the Arctic will have on Norway is increasing marine access to oil, gas and other mineral sources (ACIA 114). As a student of how weather and climate affect society and climate change, it would seem that an increase in access to oil and mineral sources could have a detrimental effect on any progress in reducing carbon emissions. If Norway is able to increase its oil production, then there would be an increase in carbon emissions as well, which is something that the country has been trying to reduce for over a decade. The decrease in sea ice and the retreat of glaciers has occurred in Norway before. At the end of the Ice Age, over 10,000 years ago, hunters and gatherers followed the glaciers as they retreated north, pursuing migratory reindeer herds, which is similar to what scientists predict the reindeer will do again in the near future (Lonely Planet). • 14. Non Violent Protests In The Civil Rights Movement Throughout the 1950s and the 1960s, civil rights activists started protesting for change. In the US and Australia there were many significant protests undertaken by different groups of brave individuals all to invoke change. Some of the most influential protests were the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the American and Australian Freedom Rides. These protests mainly used the tactic of non violent protests however, they also used boycotts and demonstrations. These protests brought great change to the way that the African Americans were treated in the US and the Indigenous people in Australia, because it forced the public to acknowledge the hardships that they had to face from segregation. The main tactic used by civil rights activists in both Australian and the United states was non violent protests. This is when the activists would protest with methods that would not harm anybody. This was done because the civil rights activists did not want to sink down to their oppressor s level and also so that no legal action could be inflicted on the African American community. The freedom rides in the United States were perfect examples of non violent protests as the leaders of these actions would not harm anybody in the course of change. The main difference between the two depictions of Jesus is the portrayal of his divinity. In the Bible, Jesus Christ is seen as the Son of God, the Messiah, who was sent to the earth to spread the Good News and who was ultimately sacrificed himself to purge the sin of humanity. The Qur an and Bible suggest that Jesus was born divinely, however Christianity also suggests that Jesus is a holy being who was sent to guide humanity. It has lasted for many decades and was highly practiced until the 1880s when laws and regulations were put into effect. Recently, this topic has been brought up once again and is focused on areas mainly the Southern and Western parts of the United States. Abortionis one of those topics where it can go either way; it s either pro life or pro choice. Both are two very different sides that are so sensitive it can reach out to many people on multiple levels of their emotional and mental state of mind, due to their many religious beliefs. Along with that, it is blown up and mixed in with the negativity of social media and that is a clear the problem and decisions become biased. It comes to these questions that makes me wonder about who should be involved? And why does there have to be only one right choice for abortion and not a neutral side? Or that why can t abortion simply be accepted by society after many decades of voting and reforming the same laws? The only thing that separates one side from the other side is the argument of the right to life , which is pro life. Even though there were significant, life changing, humanitarian efforts made by the U.S, the Berlin Airlift was one of the greatest of these efforts. This was one of the strongest humanitarian efforts made because America supplied food for the starving people of West Berlin, granted them the gift of hope when there was nothing left to hope for, and assisted every step of the way until the terrible separation between East Berlin and West Berlin. When the Soviets took their share of Germany with France, Britain, and the U.S., the Soviets made the choice to separate Germany into eastern and western divisions. This was done so that they could extend communism into a war torn Europe. After World War Two, there wouldn t have been any better timing. The war gave them an open door to start communism all over again because no one would ve been able to stop whatever came in their path. The events leading to the Airlift began with Russia s iron fist and persistence to conquer everything. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now that we have some understanding of what Arius was teaching. I will now begin to defend against his view of God and the Son. Let s begin with addressing that fact that the Son was not a creature. The Son was God in the flesh. He walked upon earth to spread the gospel and bring salvation to a sinful world. The prophet Isaiah even writes about the Son before he was born. For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). The Son was more than flesh, he was the fullness of God. Let s look at the subject of creation. Arius believes that the Son did not exist during creation. I tend to disagree with his observation. Jesus Christ is viewed as the creator and the savior of humanity and nature (Langdon, 2015, p. 455). Since God and the Son are one and can t be divided, then He would have to be present at creation. I believe that the Son and the Holy Spirit both have been with God since the beginning. According to John 1:1 2, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning . This verse alone is pretty clear on the fact that the Son was with God during creation. Gerard Hopkins liked to use sprung rhythmin which the stressed and unstressed syllables have a complicated relationship, and the message desired from the reader can change the rhythm. (Shmoop) Sprung rhythm allows each person to read the poem differently and take away what they wish. The speaker of this poem has lost faith in humanity and their treatment of the world God had granted us. However, in the second half of the poem, the speaker shows his views of the world and its connection to God. In the first stanza of God s Grandeur, the speaker is amazed at the greatness of God. The Coke can is used to basically start the chemical reaction by the RCA cables that are put inside it which in return is still connected to the banana. Financial Statements Of Cash Flow The statement of cash flow is one of the financial statements that shareholders tend to evaluate to ensure that all transactions are properly stated in each of the three activities mentioned above; operating, investing, and financing. The statement of cash flows is also commonly overlooked by both the balance sheets and income statements numbers. The cash flow statement is important for the business as it brings valuable information that can help evaluate a corporation. The statement will show if the business is low on money even if the financial statements shows that is profitable. It will reflect if the owner withdrew to much cash from the corporation. It will also reflect the principal payment of a loan and the correct amount used to acquire equipment, property, and other assets that the income statement will not show. The absence of this statement can hinder the operation of a business as the owner could easily fall in the negative (loss) by not having eyes on the cash out flow exceeding the cash inflow. Therefore, the adaptation of having a statement of cash flows becomes essential to any business or organization. With the adaption of such a system personnel such as stakeholders become essential. • 39. Ir Spectroscopy Lab Report The objective of experiment H was to identify an unknown compound using only infrared resonance (IR) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. IR helped determine the functional groups present in the molecule. NMR helped solve the structure of the molecule. The first step to solving my molecule was analyzing my IR spectra. The broad bands at 2958cm 1 indicated C H alkane stretches. These stretches were sp3 hybridized bonds since they did not go past 3000cm 1. I found a strong carbonyl (C=O) stretch at 1736cm 1, an ester. In the fingerprint region, there was a C O stretch at approximately 1182cm 1, consistent with an ester. The next step to solving my unknown was to identify the molecular formula. To do this, I used the rule of 13.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The absorptions in NMR were calculated from left to right. The reasoning behind this is because of protons that shield (up field) or de shield (downfield). Factors that influence shielding/de shielding depend upon electron withdrawing/electron donating protons. If the protons on a molecule were more electron withdrawing, the molecule will be more deshielded. If the protons on a molecule were more electron donating, the molecule will be more shielded. Looking downfield, Ha showed absorptions at approximately 4.1ppm. The range for hydrogen s attached to a single bonded oxygen is at approximately 3.5 4.8 ppm. Hydrogen s attached to carbon in this region were deshielded because of the electronegativity of the oxygen (electron withdrawing). Looking up field, Hb was at approximately 2.3ppm, which is the chemical shift range for alpha hydrogen s (2.1 2.5ppm). Alpha carbons were carbons that were directly attached to a carbonyl. Because the carbon in this region is an alpha carbon, its attached hydrogen s were alpha hydrogen s. The absorptions for Hc were at approximately 1.6ppm. Hd s absorptions were at approximately 1.4 ppm. Both Hc and Hd were in the chemical shift range for CH2 bonds. He and Hf were the most shielded of the peaks. As a recommendation, police organization in Malaysia can organize or provide a training program for police personnel on duty at the enquiry office about the use and maintenance of the PRS so that they can write the report quickly and also they know the function for every single menu and button of the PRS. Plus, if the PRS are breakdown, the police personnel will know how to fix the problem. Thus, it wills not wasting time to wait for the technical team to fix the problem and also they no need to write the report manually in POL 55 and re type it once the PRS was fixed. Besides that, enquiry officer also are encourage to more than one language. • 41. Difference Between Dominate And Recessive Genes What is the difference between dominate and recessive genes? Genes help determine the characteristics and traits consisting of: eye, skin, hair color, etc. Each gene contains two alleles one coming from the mother and the other from the father, one being dominant and the other recessive. The dominant allele is typically expressed, while the recessive are not generally expressed. A dominant allele makes a pair with a recessive allele. The dominant allele determines the traits visibly expressed as phenotypes the genetic code working behind a trait in known as the genotype (Your Genome, 2016). What is the difference between heterozygous and homozygous expression of genes? The genetic material that determines the trait is known as the genotype, which at times it is said to be homozygous (a person containing two recessive/two dominant alleles coming from both parents) or heterozygous (a person having one recessive/one dominant allele from both parents). It is typically common for a child to have brown eyes when one parent has a recessive allele and the other a dominant allele allowing it to override the other. However, if both parents have brown eyes, but contribute the recessive allele the child will have blue eyes. This is not always the case as genetic inheritance is not always simple as we see some people having eyes that are green, one brown, and one blue (CCCOE, 2016). • 42. Importance Of Descartes On Physiology Hitherto, I have explained some elements concerning Descartes and vitalistic theories about physiology. On the one hand, I have highlighted that Descartes approach to physiology is founded on his mechanical conception of nature, which allows him to use the laws of nature in order to explain the particular functioning of the human body. In general, Descartes argues that God creates matter in a uniform way and he separates it, creating individual bodies, through the introduction of motion in the system. Accordingly, Descartes conception of matter denies the very possibility of the existence of certain individual properties of matter, on the assumption that every matter particle has been created in the same way and is affected by the same laws. Thus, Descartes explains that the laws of nature have a broad scope, and their universal application is based on the metaphysical conception of the regularity... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, in his World, Descartes explains that heat and light are explicable in terms of the motion of the particles which constitute the flame or the Sun the luminescent bodies of nature. In his description, Descartes argues that When flame burns wood or some other similar material, we can see with the naked eye it sets the minute parts of the wood in motion and separates them from one another, thus transforming the finer parts into fire, air and smoke, and leaving the coarser parts as ashes (AT XI, 7). Clearly, this mechanical explanationcontradicts the vitalist conception of the qualities of the bodies which make them flammable. In vitalistic terms, the capacity of burning a body has is explained because of a quality in it which makes it flammable: a heat quality or a light quality explains the presence of this visible effects in bodies like the Sun or a flame. • 44. Capssaicin Research Paper Capsaicin is a chemical that is found in chili peppers which causes the heat when you eat spicy foods. In order to detect the capsaicin that is found in the foods that you eat, your body has receptors on sensory neurons. The receptors are known as capsaicin receptors and found in the dendrites of the sensory neurons better known as nociceptors. (Caterina) When your body receives that feeling of pain or heat, it is due to capsaicinreceptor recognizing capsaicin, but also the ability of the capsaicin receptor to act as an ion channel, which is found in a category known as the transient receptor potential channels. • 46. Six Types Of A Chemical Reaction Some people may ask what exactly is a chemical reaction? A chemical reaction is a process that involves rearrangement of the molecular or ionic structure of a substance. There is six types of chemical reactions named Synthesis, Decomposition, Single Replacement, Double Replacement, Combustion, and Acid base reactions. Synthesis is when two or more reactants combine to form one product. Synthesis always forms a compound. The equation for synthesis is A + B AB. Water, which is H2O is a good example of a synthesis reaction. An example of a synthesis reaction is when a metal or nonmetal reacts with oxygen to form an oxide. One way that synthesis reactions connect to the real world is salt. Salt is a synthesis reaction of NaCl which is sodium chloride. The equation would be Sodium (Na) + Chlorine (Cl) Sodium Chloride (NaCl) and this would make it a synthesis reaction. The opposite of a synthesis reaction would be a decomposition reaction. A decomposition reaction is when one reactant is broken down into two or more products. This means a compound is broken down into separate products. The equation would be the opposite of synthesis which is AB A + B. An example of a decomposition reaction is 2H2O 2H2 + O2. The lab we did in chemistry class called Electrolysis of Water is a good example of decomposition because decomposition was produced by passing an electric current through the substance in the container with the screw and nail inside which represent the ... These weapons are so dangerous and efficient which is why foreign navies and even terrorist possess these weapons. The history of these weapons goes back to 1776; a year after our nation s Navy was born. A man named David Bushnell created a mine that was composed of a watertight keg, filled with black powder and a flintlock detonator which was suspended from a float (Levie). The kegs were first used in the Delaware River to destroy British ships downriver during the Revolutionary War. Along with the creation of the floating mines, Bushnell also created a drift model of the mines that exploded on contact. As time went on, the Naval Branch increased in size and so did the evolution and use of mines. Around 1863, Confederate Congress established the TorpedoService whose mission was to sow southern waterways with the kegs, which were very inexpensive at the time. It was not until World War I when mines were being laid across the seas in large amounts to prevent German U boats from destroying our warships. Almost twenty five years later, during the Second World War, modern magnetic, acoustic, and pressure sensitive mines were first developed. The deployment of mines by submarineand aircraft suddenly came into play, which spark inventors to begin developing counter measures.
