4. WHAT IS MEDIA ?
• Media is the Mean of Communication , and it is the plural of
“medium” which relates communication.
• It is derived from a Latin word “medius” means (between)
• This term refers to anything that carries information b/w source
and a receiver.

5. MEDIA:
• It is the way of transmitting messages, thoughts, opinions,
and view point.
• Its purpose is to facilitate communication and learning.

• Electronic media is enjoying broader use every day with increase
of electronic devices being made. The meaning of electronic
media,as it is known in various sepheres,has changed with the
passage of time.
• Electronic Media exist today in many forms, Radio, Television,
internet, computer etc.

9. ELECTRONIC MEDIA :
• Lancestor and Naisbitt proposed that we are approaching
“Paperless society” , where it is faster and less expensive
to communicate through electronic channels.

10. ELECTRONIC MEDIA :
• Implementing a Computer-Based System to facilitate communication has its
own sets of concern and issues. The internet is an existing attempt at such a
system.
• It offers users benefit of access, file transfer, e-mail, with remote system
around the world.

11. E-MEDIA PROVIDES (ROLE) :
• Protection of each user’s first amendment rights,
• The freedom of all users to publish on to the network,
• A free market status for the network administration,
• Remote access, etc.

12. TYPES OF ELECTRONIC MEDIA :
• There are three Traditional types of electronic Media, and a few Hybrids.

III. Internet
IV. Smart Phones (may have created a new media type because it plays between
phone and Internet)
