New media can be defined as interactive forms of communication that use the Internet, including social networks, blogs, vlogs, podcasts, and wikis. It requires a computer or mobile device with Internet access and has characteristics such as overcoming limitations of time and space, flexibility, immediacy, multimediality, interactivity, and being digital, hypertextual, virtual, and networked. New media also represents a new way to represent the world and form new relationships with consumers as part of the information age.
