This webinar explores the way that electric utilities can work with electric vehicles to achieve the most benefit. The presenters discuss strategies and technologies to increase electric vehicle adoption within a utility's own fleet and in the service area.
Maximizing the ROI of Fleet ElectrificationFleetCarma
In this webinar we discuss some of the best practices seen from our fleet partners, and cover topics such as:
- How to integrate EVs into your fleet with confidence. Ensure that the vehicles are not only capable of the job, but that they’ll also bring predictable cost savings.
- How to maximize an EV’s workload. The more electric miles that a vehicle travels, the more fuel it will offset, resulting in a greater return.
- How to optimize fleet charging. This allows you to both reduce energy costs and increase the potential workload of your EV fleet.
Smart Charging & the ChargeTO Pilot Slides from WebinarFleetCarma
Matt Stevens from FleetCarma presents the interim results from the ChargeTO pilot project.
This project includes active curtailment (smart-charging) of 30 EV owners’ vehicles in the city of Toronto.
The presentation will be followed by a Q&A.
India EV adoption - economics, benefits, opportunities, challenges and enablersjnandi
There is a lot of confusion in the Indian landscape regarding EV adoption - an equal share of pessimism and optimism depending on who you speak with. Here's an attempt to make some sense into what works, what is required to make it work ...
India EV policy: Suggestions for increasing adoptionjnandi
For Electrical Vehicles (EVs) to become a reality in the short to medium term in India, there is a lot of Government support needed, bound by a comprehensive and well-conceived EV policy which coordinates the activities of multiple departments to grow the ecosystem. Here are some suggestions that the Government should look at to spur both demand and help build out the underlying ecosystem.
1. EV Incentives
2. Charging Station Incentives
3. ICEV Disincentives
4. Public / Private Fleet Incentives
5. Improving EV OEM Product Range & Quality
6. Ancillary Industry Incentives

DESCRIPTION:
Learning analytics is at a critical juncture in its lifecycle. To date, much of the learning analytics-related research, software development, and standards work that exists has taken place in relative isolation. This lack of collaboration, openness, and integrated systems greatly limits the
potential of learning analytics. LA initiatives have typically been dependent upon “closed” systems, proprietary data models and single use tools – as opposed to an integrated software suite for analyzing and communicating data on learning processes.
As institutions begin to move past discussion and into implementation of learning analytics environments, the realization of an open source platform for learning analytics becomes increasingly important as an option for institutions to consider alongside commercial offerings. In this presentation, learning analytics practitioners Josh Baron, Sandeep Jayaprakash and Alan Berg discuss a strategic vision of an open source platform, including standards, systems, and tools, that can lower the barrier to entry for institutions looking to get started with learning analytics.
There will be a short demo of current components of the platform as well as details on accessing/contributing to the open-source code repository and how to get more involved in the Apereo LAI.
These slides use concepts from my (Jeff Funk) course on Business Models at National University of Singapore to analyze the business model for a fictitious alliance between Qualcomm and Bosch. Together, these firms can create a dense network of wireless charging stations that can enable the use of inexpensive electric vehicles. The dense network of charging stations reduces the importance of range and thus the weight, volume, and cost of batteries that are needed to propel the vehicle. The slides describe the value proposition, method of value capture, customers, scope of activities, and method of strategic control for Q-Bo, a fictitious alliance between Qualcomm and Bosch.

Electric Vehicle and Electricity Demand in the GCCAhmed Elbermbali
This is a very vital topic as more demand for electricity is starting to emerge with electrifying transport and other sectors. We need to plan ahead as the number of EVs grow and make sure that this transition to electric mobility is happening sustainably. Smart charging and energy storage systems are keys to go hand in hand with more production of renewable energy. Our region has a great potential to learn from the mistakes of the other regions and build a resilience and sustainable infrastructure for EVs.

EV Charging Infrastructure doesn't need to be complicated, over designed, or over powered. First of all more charging happens at home or work than public. Over 90% drive less that 35 miles to work. Perfect for an EV to get replenished at low power (sipping, not gulping) This is more grid friendly and avoids building upgrades and peak demand issues.

Conclusions
Regional-specific approach is required
•There are a lot of reasons why electric utilities are taking an active role in the local EV industry in their service area
Glass half-full perspective is taking the lead
•Initially, EVs may have been seen as disruptive loads, but now they are very often seen as business opportunities and enabling technology
Informing strategies and campaigns with good EV data
