Local legend from Miranda de Ebro (Castilian town located into the Ebro Valley, Spain), about a famous mummy.

2. • El Chantre was a religious person that
lived in Miranda de Ebro. He was very
kind with the people and one day when
el Chantre was giving alms to the poor
people, his brother killed him in front of
the church throwing a sac of sand to him.

3. • Today, he is a mummy, and his tomb is found in
the church of SANTA MARIA, which is situated
over the ruins of the pilgrims’ hospital he founded
in Miranda De Ebro.

4. • In fact, he was buried in
the cemetery, but three
times the mummy
appeared near the
church because of the
Ebro’s floods.
• At the end, the mummy
was moved to the
church.
• Some people said that,
today, his hair and nails
grow
