1. Software
Wordpress is an online blog hosting site it is here
that all my work showing the stages from the
research to the final evaluation is displayed;
apart from when using the app on my tablet
where inserting media has been an issue
otherwise this site has been easy to use.
Youtube is another online video sharing
site, similar to Vimeo however, the quality
is significantly better upon uploading my
music video. YouTube is the source for the
research concerning similar artists and
into the genre of music.
2. On my blog I have displayed my work in different formats;
first I used Prezi which is similar to Powerpoint, however,
this is not supported on Wordpress and so only links
would work.
I found an alternative for this –
Slideshare. You create a presentation and
then upload it onto the blog using the
embedding HTML; this is simple to use
and effective.
3. AVID
This is an editing software for creating films I used this for my
music video. It holds a range of functions that achieve varied
effects for example in the effects palette you can reverse the
clip. When displayed on the two screens of the computer the
left side managed the ‘bins’ containing the audio and footage
whereas the right side is where the placing, viewing and
editing happens. I found AVID difficult at first as it is
dissimilar to Final Cut Pro as well as the various keyboard
shortcuts that could be learned to speed up the process of
the editing. However, I learned these and applied to my own
work.

4. Adobe
Photoshop
InDesign
For constructing the digipak the images I had were
manipulated in this software – changing colour,
editing out the background of one image to retrieve
the portion I required, changing the image size so the
quality would not be effected in InDesign. Doing this
was relatively easy as I am familiar with this program
however this differentiated with InDesign.
The CD inlay and advertisement were developed here; this
program does the same functions of Microsoft Publisher
although, is more challenging due to: being able to put
images into the document the name changes from ‘insert’
to ‘place’; the quality of the image alters, becomes
pixelated and so have to use Photoshop and then place
the image. However, after learning the features I was able
to use InDesign effectively.
