“Test rig on Eddy current braking system” is a very great innovation on its own and is specially made for the purpose
to stop the wheel in minimum time. Brakes are the crucial components in any mobile system which are generally used to stop
the motion of any mobile. Such type of component must be checked by using the highly accurate methodology in order to
access its functional performance in advance. The inspection methodology of brakes should be accurate with less time
consuming procedure for its inspection. This test rig will check the brake in the least time which leads to a reduction of nonproductive
time and improves brake efficiency.
Electromagnetic braking for physically challenged peopleJustin Mathew
This is a part of our project. We are designing an easy driving system for physically challenged people. And we found that this is the faster, smatter and better braking system. This is the future of braking system in automobile.
In the automotive industry there has been an increased emphasis on vehicle safety. Improvement in brake technology has greatly contributed to stable running of vehicles. Increased functionality has resulted in products like ABS, ESC, and brake assist. An example of the increased functionality of automotive brakes is improvement in control techniques for hydraulic brakes. Furthermore, in an effort to continue this improvement in functionality and reduction in environmental impact, automotive components manufacturers and car manufacturers are developing electromechanical brake (EMB) systems.
Many of newly developed electromechanical brake systems employ linear actuators such as ball-screws and ball-ramps (torque cams). However, when any of these linear actuators is used to develop the sufficient thrust required to brake a traveling vehicle, greater input torque is needed because the load conversion ratio with the linear actuator alone is insufficient. To design a more compact, lightweight electromechanical brake unit, the motor must be more compact. Therefore an independent reducer needs to be incorporated. Additionally, the electromechanical brake is situated in the “unsprung” section of the vehicle and will be subjected to violent vibration. Therefore it must be positively fretting-resistant.
The centerpiece of the current braking systems is a hydraulic assembly under the hood of the vehicle that brings together the electronic control unit, wheel pressure modulators, pressure reservoir, and electric pump. The interaction of mechanics and electronics is key to the success of the braking system. The microcomputer, software, sensors, valves, and electric pump work together to form the basis of the system.

Suspension systems, in the automotive application context, have been designed to maintain
contact between a vehicle’s tires and the road, and to isolate the frame of the vehicle from road
disturbances. Dampers, or so-called shock absorbers, as the undeniable heart of suspension
systems, reduce the effect of a sudden bump by smoothing out the shock. In most shock
absorbers, the energy is converted into heat via viscous fluid. In hydraulic cylinders, the
hydraulic fluid is heated up. In air cylinders, the hot air is emitted into the atmosphere. There are
several common approaches for shock absorption, including material hysteresis, dry friction,
fluid friction, compression of gas, and eddy currents.

Fabrication of Prototype Model of Infrared Sensor Based Regenerative Braking...IJMER
The objective of this paper is to stored the kinetic energy dissipated in the brakes to accelerate
the vehicle. This project is based on prototype model of Regenerative braking system using electromagnetic
clutch. Regenerative braking results in an increase in energy output for a given energy input to a vehicle,
the efficiency is improved. The amount of work done by the engine of the vehicle is reduced, in turn
reducing the amount of prime energy required to propel the vehicle. In order for a regenerative braking
system to be cost effective the prime energy saved over a specified lifetime must offset the initial cost, size
and weight penalties of the system. The energy storage unit must be compact, durable and capable of
handling high power levels efficiently. The energy can be directly provided to dynamo itself to generate
current and will be displayed on the Ammeter installed in the set up. This set up also consists of an Infrared
Sensor which helps to prevent the frequency of accidents increasing due to inefficient braking system and
therefore can be considerably avoided using IR sensors. The vehicle instantly stops as any object appears
in front of it where IR Sensors are installed.
Braking of Three Phase Induction Motorsby Controlling Applied Voltage and Fre...IJPEDS-IAES
Braking of three phase induction motors is required in many industrial applications. This paper introduces braking of three phase induction motors using particle swarm optimization (PSO) technique. The objective is to determine the optimum values of the applied voltage and frequency during braking to stop the motor in a certain time with minimum braking energy losses to limit any excessive thermal heating. The proposed technique is important and more useful in applications of repeated braking cycles. The results are compared with that obtained using plugging braking method and it's found that the proposed technique gives lower braking energy and shorter braking time. The braking energy losses with the proposed method are about 20% of the plugging braking energy losses with the same braking time. The proposed method determines the variation of optimal values of applied voltage and frequency to have a certain braking time of three phase induction motor at a certain load torque with minimum braking energy losses. The characteristics of the motor are simulated using SIMULINK/MATLAB.
Semi-Active Vibration Control of a Quarter Car Model Using MR Damperishan kossambe
This presentation analytically evaluates the dynamic response of a quarter car using semi active control system. Semi active control system are becoming popular because they provide with good reliability like passive system and consume less power to give better performance than the active system. Magnetorheological (MR) fluid can produce good controllable damping force under the application of magnetic field and hence can be used as effective element in semiactive vibration control.
Out of the various semi active control strategies, the Bouc-Wen model control strategy is used in this work. Response of the quarter car is measured using MR damper and compared with normal passive damper.

Design and Analysis of Mechanism for Dynamic Characterization of Power Transm...iosrjce
Power transmission systems are being widely used for transmission of power between two members.
Once a particular transmission system is realized it needs to be qualified before its course of application. As
part of this intended torque of the transmission systems needs to be measured and tested. Conventional means of
dynamic characterization of power transmission system has got the demerit of energy consumption to a greater
extent. Because of this more effort is to be put in terms of power for the sake of testing the intended system.
Great need exists for a system which consumes less or ideally no energy while performing test. This project
aims at evolution of a novel technique for evaluating the torque transmitting capability of power transmission
systems without consuming more energy. To start with all the subsystems of the proposed design will be
identified and each of them will be designed for getting their dimensions. Then these dimensional models will be
transformed to solid model of the assembled configuration using 3D CAD software. Functional load which will
be experienced by this design will be assessed and structural analysis will be carried out against these loads
using Finite Element Method (FEM) in commercial FEA software i.e. ANSYS

Smart fluid self adaptive damper system (sfsads)ijmech
This paper is on fluid damper systems, which is self-adaptive and used to increase the speed and acceleration of vehicles. In normal dampers there is a time lag leading to break in contact between the wheel and the road reducing the acceleration. Now, our idea is about making the suspension adapt to varying road conditions. Due to irregularities in asphalt, a change occurs in the suspension damper position with the aid of the magnetic field and causes the suspension to change from softer to harder and vice versa giving more acceleration and increasing the pace of the vehicle.
Design and analysis of a new brake-by-wire system using machine learning IJECEIAES
One of the main aims of the recent research on brake-by-wire systems is to decrease mechanical components. In this paper, we propose replacing the brake pedal with a driving wheel that is fully covered by pressure braking batch sensors. The new mechanism for braking translates pressure exerted through the driver’s hands on the driving wheel to a corresponding electrical signal. A proposed design for the pressure braking batch (PBB) is made out of a mesh of conducting threads separated by a resistive sheet. To the best of our knowledge, this idea has not been raised before in other research papers. Different people have different muscle strengths and so the problem of identifying the intention of the user when pressing the PBB is tackled. For this aim, a new dataset of its kind is created by several volunteers. From each volunteer, age, gender, body mass index (BMI), and maximum pressure exerted on the driving wheel are collected. Using Weka software, the detection accuracy is calculated for a new volunteer to know the intention of his/her pressure on PBB. Among the three algorithms tried, the regression tree gives the best results in predicting the class of the pressure exerted by the volunteers.
Stability analysis and speed control of brushless DC motor based on self-amel...IJECEIAES
In recent years, electric vehicles are the large-scale spread of the transportation field has led to the emergence of brushless direct current (DC) motors (BLDCM), which are mostly utilized in electrical vehicle systems. The speed control of a BLDCM is a subsystem, consisting of torque, flux hysteresis comparators, and appropriate switching logic of an inverter. Due to the sudden load torque variation and improper switching pulse, the speed of the BLDCM is not maintained properly. In recent research, the BLDC current control method gives a better way to control the speed of the motor. Also, the rotor position information should be the need for feedback control of the power electronic converters to varying the appropriate pulse width modulation (PWM) of the inverter. The proposed optimization work controls the switching device to manage the power supply BLDCM. In this proposed selfameliorate soft switching (SASS) system is a simple and effective way for BLDC motor current control technology, a proposed control strategy is intended to stabilize the speed of the BLDCM at different load torque conditions. The proposed SASS system method is analyzing hall-based sensor values continuously. The suggested model is simulated using the MATLAB Simulink tool, and the results reveal that the maximum steady-state error value achieved is 4.2, as well as a speedy recovery of the BLDCM's speed.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.
