The Human Relations approach aims to promote prosocial behavior, equality, justice, and social harmony by establishing goals that ensure success for all children, avoid competition, and eliminate stereotypes. It does this by promoting positive feelings in children through a comprehensive curriculum that infuses prosocial tenets, uses varied teaching strategies and real-life experiences, and designs activities around success for all. The overall goals are to help students communicate, accept, and get along with others who are different, prevent offenses, and help students feel good about themselves while reducing stereotypes.
