– Cotton contribution 1%~1.7% (US$ 3~5 billion)
• Share of agriculture in GDP : 18.9%*
– Cotton in value added agriculture: 5.5%
• Share of manufacturing in GDP : 13.6%*
– Large Scale Manufacturing: 80%
• Textile: 20.9% (Cotton: 96%)
• Employment: 42.3% of labor force*
– Earning of 85-90 billion annually, mostly by rural
women folks
