EBUS (endobronchial ultrasound) bronchoscopy is a method used to diagnose various kinds of lung disorders, including inflammation, cancer or infections. EBUS bronchoscopy is performed by a pulmonologist in which a flexible tube is used that travels through the mouth and into the windpipe and lungs. The EBUS scope consists of a video camera with an ultrasound probe attached for creating local images of the lungs and nearby lymph nodes so that the areas seen on X- rays or scans that have to be looked closer so that they can be accurately located and evaluated.
