Sara Bareilles Research Paper
Often overlooked and not properly recognized, singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles is a vocal
sensation and musical mastermind. Stunning live audiences with her rare ability to sound better on
stage than in the recording studio, she brings every ounce of emotion, from hitting rock bottom or
having a terrible heartbreak to becoming comfortable and proud of oneself, to every performance.
Bareilles was born and raised in Eureka, California and attended University of California, Los
Angeles before entering the musicindustry. She grew up in a family that loved and valued musical
theater and wanted to become a performer herself; however, she feared that she would not find a
break and would be working as a waitress her whole life to support a dream. After graduation, she
won the university s renowned performance competition... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bareilles was born for the stage; her shows involve and engage the audience as well as strategically
approach specific tracks to make listeners race with unknown feelings. On top of that, she delivers
her unrelenting, heartfelt lyrics with possibly the strongest vocal range in the music industry. It is
hard to imagine someone with the songwriting ability and raw vocal talent she possesses going
unnoticed. Despite unrivaled skill though, she has a rather low profile among today s musicians,
partially attesting to the fact that the majority of the music industry relies on danceable electronic
beats, auto tune, and body image for popularity and success. Bareilles stands out in the music
industry by doing the exact opposite. The singer/songwriter keeps a low profile on social media
and keeps her personal life out of the public domain. Additionally,

Analysis of Andre; S Mother by Terrence Mcnally Essay
Analysis of Andre s Mother by Terrence McNally
The play, Andre s Mother, by Terrence McNally is a story about accepting death and is based in
a story about a young man who died before telling his mother that he was gay; leaving the man s
partner to break the news and to inform the mother about how much he missed seeing her and his
fear of being rejected by her, in the time before his death. The theme of this story is to live life
everyday with no regrets. Throughout the symbols and references you begin to understand the life
of Andre. The white balloon represents letting go and leaving a young man in peace. The silence of
his mother shows that she never accepted his sexual preference. While Hamlet references the
struggles of his everyday ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the end of the play Andre s mom with her own conflicts releases the balloon. The play write
quotes, He goes, Andre s mother stands alone holding her white balloon. Her lips tremble. She
looks on the verge of breaking down. She looks at it awhile before she gently kisses it and lets go
of the balloon... I believe at that point that Andre s mother forgave her son and was willing to wipe
the slate clean by releasing the white balloon and letting Andre s soul rest in peace. Andre s mother
s silence throughout the play shows that she never accepted her son s sexuality. Even though she
wasn t accepting she let her son rest in peace and let his soul ascend to heaven.
Andre s love of theater and the play Hamlet gave us an insight to his life. At the beginning of the
play Cal expresses Andre s love of theatre. Cal expresses, God, how much he wanted to play
Hamlet again. He would have gone to Timbuktu to have another go at that part. The summer he
did in Boston, he was so happy! (McNally 736). This reference to Hamlet, I believe showcases the
struggles Andre went through. Andre struggled with decision making and avoiding things, as did
Hamlet. Hamlet struggled whether to avenge his father and struggled with the decision that he had
been avoiding. This is also apparent when Cal brings up Andre s great performance saying, You
should have come up the summer he plated Hamlet. He was magnificent (McNally 738). I believe

severely affect one self s psychological health and destroy one s life. Poe begins the story in

Foreign Powers Influence On China
1900s China saw a century of fluctuating development and progress, which is recognised through
various political, economic and social changes. The early division of the period encountered some
change for the country yet this was not as significant as the latter change in which China s political
landscape metamorphosed into one of total contrast to the former. Foreign intervention was of
course a reason and usually the root cause for the changes that occurred, particularly in the first half
of the century until 1962 whereby there were still some minor influences by the foreigners but
other factors seemed to have caused these later changes. It could be deduced that yes, foreign
powers did have a significant influence over the transformation... Show more content on

It is in fact plausible that foreign intervention played a role in influencing some of the change
between 1900 1912. The introduction of such heavily influenced western reforms resulted in further
hatred of the foreign occupiers and thus sparking the launch of an anti westerners campaign, known
as the Boxer Rebellion. Consequences of tighter western controls took place, including further
foreign presence and involvement, which was explicit in the humiliating imposition of punitive
measures. These sanctions consisted of a $450 million reparation, weaponry destroyed and the
permanent stationing of foreign troops in and around Beijing. The punishments brought about an
atmosphere of utter embarrassment and fear but also encouraged a lack of distrust in the Manchus;
the event validated the imperial government s incapability to lead China to liberation. Although the
financial cost caused some apprehension, it didn t amount to economic turmoil the penalties
actually caused a change in the nation s perception towards the Manchu dynasty as opposed to an
economic transformation. The reparations led the Chinese to have an increasingly negative stance
towards the dynasty, diminishing any respect the imperial rulers upheld.
The greatest political change in the period actually seemed to have occurred in reaction to the
Wuhan Uprising. Much to China s disgust, the Manchus acquired a monetary loan from the West in
order to nationalise the railways, and

The Art World Is A Forever Changing System
The art world is a forever changing system, with new ideas and concepts constantly emerging.
Marcel Duchamp, working in a world where art was focused heavily on pleasing the eye, is seen
to emerge with a new idea that aimed to challenge this retinal approach that was expected of art
during this time. Duchamp would call this new approach the readymade .
This essay will
discuss how Duchamp used the readymade, specifically his 1913 piece Bicycle Wheel, to move
away from the focus on the visual and shift attention to a focus on the conceptual. Likewise, this
essay will explore how Duchamp s readymade has influenced artists such as Jeff Koons, who
similarly incorporated the conceptual focus of the readymade within his own 1981 87 readymade...

Duchamp is seen to use the word retinal as a means of critically referring to avant garde painting,
as it was apparent to him that the modern artist was becoming too immersed in a focus of pleasing
the viewer on a visual level, that they had neglected to stimulate the mind. As stated by Duchamp
himself, he wanted to put painting again at the service of the mind , and thus his creation of the
readymade emerged. The readymade consisted of a simple, unaltered, everyday object(s) that was
presented as a work of art. Through the creation of the readymade, Duchamp undermined these pre
determined aesthetic expectations of art as he started to exhibit his readymade pieces in high art
exhibitions. From this point onwards, Duchamp s artistic approach was changed via his re
development of common, everyday items and through the means of choosing and repositioning an
object, Duchamp was able to transform an everyday item into a work of art. Thus, the readymade
can be seen to be driven by Duchamp s interest in shifting attention away from the object itself, and
instead refocusing this attention on the creative relationship that he recognised between the artist,
the work, the world and the audience. Duchamp was strong in his belief that The creative act is not
performed by the artist alone. The spectator brings the work into contact with the external world
through interpretation . Duchamp s

Continuum Of Care Essay
Drug and Alcohol Treatment in America has been based on the Medical Model of Treatment.
According to Wikipedia, the medical model of addiction is rooted in the philosophy that addiction
is a disease and has biological, neurological, genetic, and environmental sources of origin.
Treatment includes potential detox with a 28 day or more stay at a residential treatment facility.
The continuum of care can include an additional 28 days at the partial hospitalization level,
followed by another 6 weeks of Intensive Outpatient.
With the introduction of Obamacare the insurance companies have begun to pay less and less for
the revolving door of treatment services. With the average length of stay in a residential treatment
center around 28 days and the bills ranging from $12,000 to $70,000, insurance companies have
cut the amount that they are willing to pay for addiction services. Some insurance companies will
pay for the least restrictive level of care first, even if a clinical professional requests a higher level
of care.
This leaves the client and their family in a sticky situation. They can pay cash out of pocket for the
treatment, wait for a mental health diagnosis so that the insurance companies will pay, or look for
an alternative form of treatment that might be more effective an affordable. Sometimes the
insurance company actually will refuse to pay any more benefits for the client for the year since he
or she has been in and out of treatment centers so many times that

Medicare, Australia s national public health insurance, provides universal health coverage for
citizens and permanent residents in addition to people with temporary visas from countries with
which Australia has reciprocal arrangements. Medicare covers inpatient care in public hospitals

may choose to buy private insurance to cover more health care options and to cover items not

Understanding The Conflict Resolution Strategy Essay
Healthy Conflict Resolution Strategy
Conflicts are an inevitable part of human life. Whether they happen in personal lives or within
organizations, it is human nature to be involved in conflicts. Workplace conflicts, such as the one in
the current situation with Dr. Jones and Susan, can result in negative consequences if they are not
handled adequately. Some of these consequences may include irreparable damage to the
relationships and disrupt teamwork, becoming an overall detriment to the organization. However, if
the conflict is managed properly it can bring the problems to light and motivates the conflicted
individuals to work together to find a solution that is agreed upon (Omisore Abiodun, 2014).
Understanding the Conflict
The first step for a manager would be to understand the conflict at hand. To recap, Susan is fed up
with Dr. Jones because she believes he is constantly cutting corners in his position by leaving early,
coming in late, or not coming in at all. According to Omisore and Abiodun (2014), there are three
different classifications of conflicts: Relationship conflicts, task conflicts, and process conflicts. A
relationship conflict is when there is a dispute between individuals that may include clashing of
personalities or annoyance which can lead to feelings of frustration, mistrust, and even resentment.
Task conflicts happen when there are incompatibilities about the contents of tasks or work goals.
Process conflicts arise when there are disagreements

Friar Lawrence s egotistical attitude seems to have caused more grief than comfort. By
suggesting that Juliet drinks the potion, he shows a more selfish side to his personality. I believe
that the Friars intensions are still good at this point, however he could be trying to save himself
from the situation as he may have doubts about the upcoming events, showing that there is a
very unforgiving side to him. Friar Lawrence has to be devious in order to carry out the new
idealistic plan. As a priest, he should not lie in any situation. Friar Lawrence asks come, is the
Bride ready to go to church? to the Capulet family. He already knew full well that the wedding
was not going to go ahead, however by saying this to the family, he is pretending that he knows
nothing and gets prepared to bury Juliet. This shows how deceptive the Friar can be as he
remains very composed throughout the day, which only reinforces his superiority and

The Black Panther breathes just like the humans. Panthers use their lungs to breathe in and out.
The breathing starts at the nose and their mouth. It then, travels down to the back of their throat,

their chest, that carries air out and into their lungs. After that, the trachea divides into smaller

Grease Play Analysis
Grease Play Evaluation Great Theater Company put on the play Grease from April first through
the seventh of 2016. The musical Grease was written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. The
director of the performance was David Symalla. Twenty four individuals composed of the entire
cast. The whole cast was eighteen years or older. This gave the playa more mature feel. A live
orchestra preformed the music, which consisted of eight members. The orchestra brought the play
to life and made the show even more enjoyable. The entire cast was amazing at singing. It was
clear that there are a lot of talented people in the central Minnesota area. The performance ran
smoothly and no major mistakes stood out. The characters of Danny, Kenickie, and Rizzo... Show

The microphone could have been louder to hear him better. Even though Sandy was a main
character, she did not capture the attention of the audience like she should have. During the high
school prom scene, the choreography seemed a little boring. More complex dance routines
could have been added to liven up the multiple dance numbers during this scene. Costumes and
slang used matched the 1950s time period. The costumes looked authentic and really set the tone
for the play. Slang and language throughout the play mattered the time period perfectly. A
staircase that lit up to the beat of the music added a lot of interest to multiple dance numbers.
Several different sets were set up during the play, and it was obvious where the characters were.
The props and setting structures were constructed very well. A drag race scene did take place
during the performance. The concept of preforming it seemed difficult, but the special effects and
choreography worked out well. It felt like Danny and the rival gang leader were actually racing on
stage. That was extremely impressive. The show was very entertaining. The language and themes
were more mature, so it would not be advised for children to attend. Many of the jokes were for the

Italian Immigration to America
From 1890 to 1915 estimated around 4 million Italians arrived in the United States. Majority
being from 1900 to 1914. Once they arrived in America, immigrants faced difficult challenges.
Most of the time not even knowing the English language and also having very little education.
Many of the new immigrants were forced to accept the lowest paying and hellish jobs. Sometimes
were often forced by the average man who acted like they were slaves. Most of the immigrants
found homes in the older sections of the big northeastern coastal cities. Later became known as the
Little Italys most of the time being overcrowded average homes, which had terrible living condition
with bad lighting and poor heating in the winter. Tuberculosis was one of the constant health
problems for the immigrant families that were forced on by economic circumstances to live in these
homes. Other immigrant families lived in small homes which was even more common in areas
outside of the big northeastern cities.
The Italian immigration of 1880 caused the economy in southern Italy and Sicily to decrease. Due
to over taxation on the southern part of Italy making the situation nearly impossible for most tenant
farmers, and small business. Multitudes chose to migrate rather than try to make out a bad life.
Most of the time the father and sometimes the oldest son would go before the whole family.
Leaving the mother and the rest of the family behind until the father and son could afford their
passage.

The Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution that occurred in the late Nineteenth Century brought many new jobs that
were drastically different to the jobs that previous Americans held. While agricultural jobs still
existed and were vitally important to the sustainability of the American economy, the new factory
jobs that opened up created many new work opportunities for Americans and immigrants who came
from Europe. However, the problem with all these new industrial jobs was that they had very poor
working conditions and the work hours were long and unfair. This along with the low wages made
these jobs undesirable. Despite this, immigrant workers continued to work under these conditions
because they had nowhere else to obtain work and quitting would make it almost impossible for
them to find a job somewhere else with better working conditions and wages. The result of the low
wages meant that many immigrants living on the East Coast of the United States lived below the
poverty line. There was a fundamental problem with the working and living conditions the
immigrants were experiencing. Two political organizations of this era sought to fix this problem
with two contrasting methods. The Progressive Reformers were a political organization that sought
out to set permanent fixes to these conditions and make it possible for the immigrants to be self
sustaining. On the other hand, the political machines, more specifically Tammany Hall of
Manhattan, sought to make changes by directly helping the

How Did The Armory Show American With Impressionism
As Nazi s army occupies cities and countries all over the Europe, Paris was inevitably erupted and
ruined by the pervasion of Fascism. Many influential European avant garde artists such as Duchamp
and Matisse either immigrated or traveled to the United States of America in order to take a break
from the European social disorders. Paris was no longer the symbol represents freedom and liberty,
so the artists were actively seeking a new location to express their thoughts and to create
contemporary artworks without any constraints. These artists and their works were officially
exhibited in the Armory Show. The exhibition introduced American with Impressionism, Fauvism,
Cubism, and Dadaism, which opens the possibilities of the American Modernity.

Why Is Hadrian Important
Hadrian
Emperor Hadrian was the 14th Emperor of Rome between 117 138 CE, Hadrian is also known as
the 3rd of 5 good emperors. Born in Hispania like Trajan Hadrian came into power as an Emperor
after being adopted by Trajan s wife. Historians believe that one reason for the adoption was the
ethnicity that Hadrian and Trajan shared. At an early age Hadrian like Trajan joined the army and
became a tribune under the command of emperor Nerva. When Nerva died Trajan took the throne
and when Trajan died Hadrian took the throne. Hadrian s popularity in Rome was attested as
Hadrian spent the better part of his reign absent from Rome. Professor D. Brendan Nagle writes,

made of roman concrete and then covered with bronze sheets that were removed in 663 CE by

with a colonnade of 8 Corinthian columns that tower 11.8 m high. The column shafts are made of
grey granite and with the pediments and capitals made of white marble. This really shows how

Pill Bug Research Paper
Armadillidium vulgare are commonly known as pill bug. Pill bugs belong to the kingdom Animalia
and are classified as Malacostraca. Belonging to the order of Isopoda, they belong to the
Armadillidiidae family, and classified into the genus Armadillidium. A. vulgare are found in soil
with a preference to moist environment (Holland 2014). This species see with ommatidia, smell
using esthetascs, and touch with tactile setae to sense their environment (Holland 2014). Migita
and Moriyama (2004) declare that in unknown environments, animal behaves inappropriately by
expressing their innate or learned behavioral patterns. A. vulgare are often found constantly moving
around the edge of the Petri dishbecause the environment is unfamiliar and appears as an obstacle
(Migita and Moriyama 2004). One observation of pill bug s movement is when they follow each
other. Males can detect females through distance chemical communication (BeauchГ© and Richard
2013). Due to aggregation pheromone, the A. vulgare are attracted to each other. Unlike other
isopods, A. vulgare locomotor activity is presence in the morning and the species exhibit positive
phototaxis when temperature increase (Cloudsley Thompson 1952). Cloudsley Thompson (1952)

A Person s World View May Not Be My Worldview
A person s world view may not be my worldview, so how do I differ what a worldview is? Along
with, how is a person s worldview different from a christian worldview? When I read an
encyclopedia the definition might look like this, a person s specific bias or opinion on things
that influence how they look at the world and the things around them from what is there to what
is expected to be there. Now that I have a definition of a worldview, what is a christian
worldview? With the article A Christian Worldview there are five points that make up a christian
worldview. First God exists and the world was created by him. Secondly humans who fully believe
in God have enjoyment to look forward to after deathbecause they can be with God, but everyone
has a soul and spirit to go somewhere after they die. Third science and metaphysics are not the
only things that explain a big bang theory and everything that exists today. Fourth is epistemology
is not the only thing that helps humans perceive real senses. Last there is a difference between
objective morality and subjective morality along with the Bible being a source for christians to
follow God s will for our life (Drury 3).
Likewise with the five points to a person s worldview and a christian worldview how can all
citizens legally choose not to give life to an unborn child, but not let people end their life when
they are terminally ill, or go through extreme pain for the rest of their life. Currently there are four

Anti Depressant For Seven Years
I have taken the anti depressant Paxil for seven years. This summer I began a gradual tapering off

dizziness. Doctors call this Anti Depressant Discontinuation Syndrome. I call it miserable. As I

dizziness, vertigo, balance and nausea. It is compounded by heat, humidity and allergy issues. The
last time I missed several doses of paxil, I had an acute attack of dizziness, nausea, disorientation,

Any eye or head movement causes a violent chain reaction of dizziness, sensations of swimming
vision and mini tremors of shock waves of the brain. Needless to say this terrific dizziness sets off
waves of nausea as well. Even lying down, with eyes closed the swimming vision continues.
Doctors mention that many people mistake these withdrawal symptoms as a return of symptoms
masked by the Paxil or anti depressant. Many return to the medication to prevent the symptoms.
Managing this antidepressants discontinuation syndrome and concomitant dizziness and vertigo isn
t easy. I have read that it can take several months to a year to be rid of them. For more information

Essay On Waverly Play
Strategic Gameplay
Waverly plays many games throughout this story. She is very smart, easily deceiving many of
her opponents. Some of her games can be played on a tangible game board. Others cannot be
seen, but played through subtle suggestion. Waverly plays is the board game chess, where she
must think ahead and plan out every possible move to win. She must put herself in her opponent
s shoes and try to predict their strategy. I discovered that for the whole game one must gather
invisible strengths and see the endgame before the game begins. (Tan 8) By understanding
Waverly s thought process throughout a game, we are able to learn more about her as a person.
She is aware of how different she is compared to the other players, and uses it to her advantage. ...I
would clasp my hands under my chin, the delicate points of my elbows poised lightly on the table
in the manner my mother had shown me for posing for the press. I would swing my patent leather
shoes back and forth like an impatient child riding on a school bus. Then I would pause, suck in
my lips, twirl my chosen piece in midair as if undecided, and then firmly plant it in its new
threatening place with a triumphant smile thrown back at my opponent for good measure. (Tan 12)

strangers. (Tan 9) By initiating what would appear to others as small talk, she redirects her
mother s strong will. As we walked home I said in a small voice that I didn t want to play in the

Fourth, political culture is stable.
Policy core beliefs are presumed to be stable and quite resistant to change. When experiences
expose serious anomalies (in the sense that Thomas Kuhn, 1962, used the term) in policy core
beliefs, these beliefs may be susceptible to change. But change that results in dissonance with deep
core beliefs is very costly, and policy core beliefs are buttressed by a formidable array of cognitive

Theme Of Marriage By Gregory Corso Marriage
What causes people to contemplate marriage? Many would like to believe the answer is love,
but that is not always the case. People who think of an ideal marriage would think of two people
loving each other and sharing a personal bond or goals together. Marriage is usually defined as the
legally or formally recognized union of two lovers as partners in a personal relationship. This
suggests there is an actual connection between two people in marriage, but do people actually
consider this when committing to loveand support their partners forever? As research and studies
have shown, people ultimately get married for the incorrect reasons, in which love is not included
or even a part of. This philosophy can be easily applied to the short poem, Marriage by Gregory
Corso. In this emotional poem, the author argues marriage is more effectively understood or known
for culture and convenience rather than through the abstract considerations of love. Corso finds
himself confused multiple times, wondering if he should marry to not be lonely, for tradition and
for his physical and mental health. He disregards love, a relationship or a connection with his future
wife. The author ponders the decision weighing the options. He highlights which ones are the right
and which ones are the incorrect reasons, according to his opinion. General ways of convenience
like coping with loneliness, health and economic status, and navigating cultural stereotypes and
religion are often the true

Critical Analysis Of Symphonie Fantastique
During the Romanic period, there were many advances in regards to instrumentation, and the size
of a typical orchestra increased in size and range, adding in more instruments to the wind, brass and
percussion sections. Symphonie Fantastique, by Hector Berlioz, was no exception, and was written
for an extensive orchestraof 220 players, including, piccolos, flutes, oboes, horns, clarinets,
bassoons, cornets, trumpets, trombones, tuba (or ophicleides), timpani, bells, a wide variety of
percussion, bells, violins, violas, cellos and double basses. Through this symphony, various
instruments have programmatic purposes to develop the scene, such as the pizzicato strings in the
4th movement, representing the head bouncing after he was decapitated, and the clarinet in E flat
and bassoons in the 5th movement, depicting bubbles rising in a cauldron.
Both movements 4 and 5 were through composed, featuring various musical fragments and themes.
Movement 4 features two key themes in addition to the idГ©e fixe, whilst Movement 5 centred
around 3 musical themes; the Beloved (Harriet), the Great Shout, and the Fearsome Crowd. An
idГ©e fixe is a melodic fragment that returns throughout, and in Symphonie Fantastique, it
references the Beloved, Harriet, and varies in rhythm, tempo, metre, instrumentation and harmony
throughout to change the character. In the 4th movement, he is getting taken to the scaffolds. The
solo clarinet plays it from beat 3 of bar 164 to 168, however, it is abruptly

The beneficial effect of meditation for people with chronic conditions is also proven by Chan
Larson (2015), however, their point of view is that further research on the topic is necessary due to
the inconsistency of the results. After examining the multiple research studies, the authors argue
that meditation may result in significant improvements in anxiety, depression, and chronic disease
symptoms . Furthermore, they state that people with chronic diseases relate more positively with
their body, which is resulting in increased activity levels and improved quality of life (Chan Larson,
2015). In some studies, the accent was made on improvement that is achieved in perception or
acceptance of a specific symptom when the symptom itself was not changed. Meditation also
relieved the manifestations of multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and peripheral neuropathy (Chan Larson,
2015). In addition, this complementary treatment modality has the beneficial effects on attention
span, sleep quality and latency, and enhanced well being (Morone, Lynch, Greco, Tindle, Weiner,

From IT Infrastructure to ITaaS
What is the cloud? Many say they are those white puffs in the sky. True, but those are not the
clouds that are referred to in the Information Technology industry. The cloud that IT
professionals speak of is a place that isn t seen but is known to exist. Dropbox, Box, Google
Drive, OneDrive, iCloud Drive; all different types of cloud storage options for securing your
music, documents, and other kinds of files. There are many different uses for the cloud in the life
of a professional. Box, for example, is mainly designed to share documents and files between users

These data center switches become the Fabric Interconnect between the UCS , and those two

The cloud is increasingly becoming a very common reality in the IT industry. The idea of storing
files in places other than the hard drive of a computer or the server in the next room has opened a
door for new beginnings and unending possibilities. Many companies have IT departments that are
internal to their company. Without these IT departments many companies would have many non
working computers, networks, and other office devices that would hinder the business from making
money. The current IT infrastructure is mostly maintained and operated in house by contracted
employees that usually have a great knowledge of general electronics and computers. Being that
IT is so important to how companies work it is always under scrutiny to continue to develop. With
the cloud in mind there has recently been talk about how IT could use the cloud to advance their
efforts. Information Technology as a Service (ITaaS) has become a new reality for some
companies. The idea is that IT organizations can use the cloud to move away from an Infrastructure
platform to a Service model.
This ITaaS model promotes IT being setup to be much more effective than it currently is. One

Ishmael Chapter Reflection Paper
The chapters introduce some of the effects hunger has on human physiology and behavior. I
learned the glimpse of disrespect, discords among the villagers, forceful recruits from the rebels,
misbehavior among the youth and lack of trust amongst the villagers because of experience from
torture, mass killings, mutilations, and wars. It is vivid that one doesn t have to be in the
military to suffer psychosis issues such as depression and PTSD as reflected in Ishmael, who felt
these and expresses the feelings multiple times in the assigned chapters. I learned from the
character of a mother with a five year old boy, who accommodated the six homeless and hungry

Personally, I cannot fathom the reality of not experiencing nor enjoying my youthful years, the

which is a pain he bears for life.
Furthermore, I think I changed from the way I participated in the discourse to express more
about how I feel and how it has impacted me rather than expressing more on what happens to
Ishmael in the chapters. Based on the discourse, I have changed knowing that even the next
person to me might be a victim of one assault or the other. I have changed to be more sensitive to
people s feelings and behaviors. I believe my facilitation is an effective one because I actively

Creation Myth
Throughout our lives, we have heard many stories about the creation of earth and humans. Whether
they are religious based, myths, folk tales, or stories passed on through generations; they all have a

Universe and Human Beings, the creation of earthis explained through two gods that essentially
fashioned heaven and earth, as well as a goddess named Nu Kua that created human beings.
Throughout this story there is a common theme of creation, and the explaining of how earth and

The Growth Of Internet Coupled With The Rise Of Multimedia...
Abstract. The growth of internet coupled with the rise in networked infrastructure has resulted in
exponential increase in the multimedia content being shared over the communication networks.
The advancement in technology has resulted in increase in multimedia piracy. This is due to the
fact that it is very easy to copy, duplicate and distributes multimedia content using current day
technology. In such a scenario Digital Rights Management is one of the prominent issues to be
dealt with and tremendous work is going on in this direction round the globe. Digital watermarking
and fingerprinting have emerged as fundamental technologies to cater to DRM issues. These
technologies have been found to be of prominent use in content authentication, copy protection,
copyright control, broadcast monitoring and forensic applications. Various requirements of a digital
watermarking system include Imperceptibility, Robustness, Security, Payload and Computational
complexity. The main requirement of real time DRM systems is lesser computational complexity
and high robustness. This chapter proposes and analyses a robust and computational efficient
Image watermarking technique in spatial domain based on Inter Block Pixel Difference (IBPD).
The cover image is divided into 8Г—8 non overlapping blocks and difference between intensities
of two pixels of adjacent blocks at predefined positions is calculated. Depending upon the

Stunning live audiences with her rare ability to sound better on stage than in the recording studio, she brings every ounce of emotion, from hitting rock bottom or having a terrible heartbreak to becoming comfortable and proud of oneself, to every performance. Bareilles was born and raised in Eureka, California and attended University of California, Los Angeles before entering the musicindustry. She grew up in a family that loved and valued musical theater and wanted to become a performer herself; however, she feared that she would not find a break and would be working as a waitress her whole life to support a dream. After graduation, she won the university s renowned performance competition... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On top of that, she delivers her unrelenting, heartfelt lyrics with possibly the strongest vocal range in the music industry. It is hard to imagine someone with the songwriting ability and raw vocal talent she possesses going unnoticed. Despite unrivaled skill though, she has a rather low profile among today s musicians, partially attesting to the fact that the majority of the music industry relies on danceable electronic beats, auto tune, and body image for popularity and success. • 7. Analysis of Andre; S Mother by Terrence Mcnally Essay Analysis of Andre s Mother by Terrence McNally The play, Andre s Mother, by Terrence McNally is a story about accepting death and is based in a story about a young man who died before telling his mother that he was gay; leaving the man s partner to break the news and to inform the mother about how much he missed seeing her and his fear of being rejected by her, in the time before his death. The theme of this story is to live life everyday with no regrets. Throughout the symbols and references you begin to understand the life of Andre. The white balloon represents letting go and leaving a young man in peace. The silence of his mother shows that she never accepted his sexual preference. While Hamlet references the struggles of his everyday ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the end of the play Andre s mom with her own conflicts releases the balloon. The play write quotes, He goes, Andre s mother stands alone holding her white balloon. Her lips tremble. She looks on the verge of breaking down. She looks at it awhile before she gently kisses it and lets go of the balloon... I believe at that point that Andre s mother forgave her son and was willing to wipe the slate clean by releasing the white balloon and letting Andre s soul rest in peace. Andre s mother s silence throughout the play shows that she never accepted her son s sexuality. Even though she wasn t accepting she let her son rest in peace and let his soul ascend to heaven. Andre s love of theater and the play Hamlet gave us an insight to his life. At the beginning of the play Cal expresses Andre s love of theatre. Cal expresses, God, how much he wanted to play Hamlet again. He would have gone to Timbuktu to have another go at that part. The summer he did in Boston, he was so happy! (McNally 736). This reference to Hamlet, I believe showcases the struggles Andre went through. Andre struggled with decision making and avoiding things, as did Hamlet. Hamlet struggled whether to avenge his father and struggled with the decision that he had been avoiding. This is also apparent when Cal brings up Andre s great performance saying, You should have come up the summer he plated Hamlet. He was magnificent (McNally 738). I believe the Hamlet ... • 9. Foreign Powers Influence On China 1900s China saw a century of fluctuating development and progress, which is recognised through various political, economic and social changes. The early division of the period encountered some change for the country yet this was not as significant as the latter change in which China s political landscape metamorphosed into one of total contrast to the former. Foreign intervention was of course a reason and usually the root cause for the changes that occurred, particularly in the first half of the century until 1962 whereby there were still some minor influences by the foreigners but other factors seemed to have caused these later changes. It could be deduced that yes, foreign powers did have a significant influence over the transformation... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is in fact plausible that foreign intervention played a role in influencing some of the change between 1900 1912. The introduction of such heavily influenced western reforms resulted in further hatred of the foreign occupiers and thus sparking the launch of an anti westerners campaign, known as the Boxer Rebellion. Consequences of tighter western controls took place, including further foreign presence and involvement, which was explicit in the humiliating imposition of punitive measures. These sanctions consisted of a $450 million reparation, weaponry destroyed and the permanent stationing of foreign troops in and around Beijing. The punishments brought about an atmosphere of utter embarrassment and fear but also encouraged a lack of distrust in the Manchus; the event validated the imperial government s incapability to lead China to liberation. Although the financial cost caused some apprehension, it didn t amount to economic turmoil the penalties actually caused a change in the nation s perception towards the Manchu dynasty as opposed to an economic transformation. The reparations led the Chinese to have an increasingly negative stance towards the dynasty, diminishing any respect the imperial rulers upheld. The greatest political change in the period actually seemed to have occurred in reaction to the Wuhan Uprising. Much to China s disgust, the Manchus acquired a monetary loan from the West in order to nationalise the railways, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The Art World Is A Forever Changing System The art world is a forever changing system, with new ideas and concepts constantly emerging. Marcel Duchamp, working in a world where art was focused heavily on pleasing the eye, is seen to emerge with a new idea that aimed to challenge this retinal approach that was expected of art during this time. Duchamp would call this new approach the readymade .
This essay will discuss how Duchamp used the readymade, specifically his 1913 piece Bicycle Wheel, to move away from the focus on the visual and shift attention to a focus on the conceptual. Likewise, this essay will explore how Duchamp s readymade has influenced artists such as Jeff Koons, who similarly incorporated the conceptual focus of the readymade within his own 1981 87 readymade... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Duchamp is seen to use the word retinal as a means of critically referring to avant garde painting, as it was apparent to him that the modern artist was becoming too immersed in a focus of pleasing the viewer on a visual level, that they had neglected to stimulate the mind. As stated by Duchamp himself, he wanted to put painting again at the service of the mind , and thus his creation of the readymade emerged. The readymade consisted of a simple, unaltered, everyday object(s) that was presented as a work of art. Through the creation of the readymade, Duchamp undermined these pre determined aesthetic expectations of art as he started to exhibit his readymade pieces in high art exhibitions. From this point onwards, Duchamp s artistic approach was changed via his re development of common, everyday items and through the means of choosing and repositioning an object, Duchamp was able to transform an everyday item into a work of art. Thus, the readymade can be seen to be driven by Duchamp s interest in shifting attention away from the object itself, and instead refocusing this attention on the creative relationship that he recognised between the artist, the work, the world and the audience. Duchamp was strong in his belief that The creative act is not performed by the artist alone. The spectator brings the work into contact with the external world through interpretation . Duchamp s ... • 19. Continuum Of Care Essay Drug and Alcohol Treatment in America has been based on the Medical Model of Treatment. According to Wikipedia, the medical model of addiction is rooted in the philosophy that addiction is a disease and has biological, neurological, genetic, and environmental sources of origin. Treatment includes potential detox with a 28 day or more stay at a residential treatment facility. The continuum of care can include an additional 28 days at the partial hospitalization level, followed by another 6 weeks of Intensive Outpatient. With the introduction of Obamacare the insurance companies have begun to pay less and less for the revolving door of treatment services. With the average length of stay in a residential treatment center around 28 days and the bills ranging from $12,000 to $70,000, insurance companies have cut the amount that they are willing to pay for addiction services. Some insurance companies will pay for the least restrictive level of care first, even if a clinical professional requests a higher level of care. This leaves the client and their family in a sticky situation. They can pay cash out of pocket for the treatment, wait for a mental health diagnosis so that the insurance companies will pay, or look for an alternative form of treatment that might be more effective an affordable. Sometimes the insurance company actually will refuse to pay any more benefits for the client for the year since he or she has been in and out of treatment centers so many times that ... Medicare, Australia s national public health insurance, provides universal health coverage for citizens and permanent residents in addition to people with temporary visas from countries with which Australia has reciprocal arrangements. Medicare covers inpatient care in public hospitals for free or subsidized access to comprehensive medical services (Mossialos et al., 2015). Citizens may choose to buy private insurance to cover more health care options and to cover items not covered under Medicare for example ambulance services. Medicare gives Australian residents access to health care and is partly funded by taxpayers who pay a Medicare levy of 2.0% of their taxable income (Ato, n.d.). The first contact with health services one may need would involve a visit to a general practitioner, who may refer the patient to a specialist, diagnostic testing, medication for the need to in a public hospital. • 21. Understanding The Conflict Resolution Strategy Essay Healthy Conflict Resolution Strategy Conflicts are an inevitable part of human life. Whether they happen in personal lives or within organizations, it is human nature to be involved in conflicts. Workplace conflicts, such as the one in the current situation with Dr. Jones and Susan, can result in negative consequences if they are not handled adequately. Some of these consequences may include irreparable damage to the relationships and disrupt teamwork, becoming an overall detriment to the organization. However, if the conflict is managed properly it can bring the problems to light and motivates the conflicted individuals to work together to find a solution that is agreed upon (Omisore Abiodun, 2014). Understanding the Conflict The first step for a manager would be to understand the conflict at hand. To recap, Susan is fed up with Dr. Jones because she believes he is constantly cutting corners in his position by leaving early, coming in late, or not coming in at all. According to Omisore and Abiodun (2014), there are three different classifications of conflicts: Relationship conflicts, task conflicts, and process conflicts. A relationship conflict is when there is a dispute between individuals that may include clashing of personalities or annoyance which can lead to feelings of frustration, mistrust, and even resentment. Task conflicts happen when there are incompatibilities about the contents of tasks or work goals. Process conflicts arise when there are disagreements ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 22. Is Friar Lawrence a Good Man, Evil Character or Simply a... Friar Lawrence plays a strong central character throughout the play, Romeo and Juliet. The Friar is linked to both the Capulet s and the Montague s through religion and the church. Friar Lawrence is presented as a holy man who is trusted and respected by the community because he is a priest. Friar Lawrence is an advisor and close friend to Romeo. This is apparent when Romeo addresses the Friar as father and Friar Lawrence addresses Romeo as his son. Romeo goes to Friar Lawrence for help and consolation, for example, when Romeo speaks about Juliet for the first time, Friar Lawrence speaks to him about Rosaline. Friar Lawrence s egotistical attitude seems to have caused more grief than comfort. By suggesting that Juliet drinks the potion, he shows a more selfish side to his personality. I believe that the Friars intensions are still good at this point, however he could be trying to save himself from the situation as he may have doubts about the upcoming events, showing that there is a very unforgiving side to him. Friar Lawrence has to be devious in order to carry out the new idealistic plan. As a priest, he should not lie in any situation. Friar Lawrence asks come, is the Bride ready to go to church? to the Capulet family. He already knew full well that the wedding was not going to go ahead, however by saying this to the family, he is pretending that he knows nothing and gets prepared to bury Juliet. This shows how deceptive the Friar can be as he remains very composed throughout the day, which only reinforces his superiority and confidence amongst the community. As Juliet awakes from her planned long sleep, she asks Friar Lawrence where is my Romeo? He tells her he lies dead. At this point, Friar Lawrence would have been very worried about his actions and he tries to cover up the lies to fix what happened. • 27. The Industrial Revolution The Industrial Revolution that occurred in the late Nineteenth Century brought many new jobs that were drastically different to the jobs that previous Americans held. While agricultural jobs still existed and were vitally important to the sustainability of the American economy, the new factory jobs that opened up created many new work opportunities for Americans and immigrants who came from Europe. However, the problem with all these new industrial jobs was that they had very poor working conditions and the work hours were long and unfair. This along with the low wages made these jobs undesirable. Despite this, immigrant workers continued to work under these conditions because they had nowhere else to obtain work and quitting would make it almost impossible for them to find a job somewhere else with better working conditions and wages. The result of the low wages meant that many immigrants living on the East Coast of the United States lived below the poverty line. There was a fundamental problem with the working and living conditions the immigrants were experiencing. Two political organizations of this era sought to fix this problem with two contrasting methods. The Progressive Reformers were a political organization that sought out to set permanent fixes to these conditions and make it possible for the immigrants to be self sustaining. On the other hand, the political machines, more specifically Tammany Hall of Manhattan, sought to make changes by directly helping the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

People who think of an ideal marriage would think of two people loving each other and sharing a personal bond or goals together. Marriage is usually defined as the legally or formally recognized union of two lovers as partners in a personal relationship. This suggests there is an actual connection between two people in marriage, but do people actually consider this when committing to loveand support their partners forever? As research and studies have shown, people ultimately get married for the incorrect reasons, in which love is not included or even a part of. This philosophy can be easily applied to the short poem, Marriage by Gregory Corso. In this emotional poem, the author argues marriage is more effectively understood or known for culture and convenience rather than through the abstract considerations of love. Corso finds himself confused multiple times, wondering if he should marry to not be lonely, for tradition and for his physical and mental health. He disregards love, a relationship or a connection with his future wife. The author ponders the decision weighing the options. There are many different uses for the cloud in the life of a professional. Box, for example, is mainly designed to share documents and files between users in a more formal business setting. On the other hand, Google Drive, Dropbox, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These data center switches become the Fabric Interconnect between the UCS , and those two products combined help to make cloud storage possible. There are other companies that are using services and products to make this happen; such as EMC and NetApp. The cloud is increasingly becoming a very common reality in the IT industry. The idea of storing files in places other than the hard drive of a computer or the server in the next room has opened a door for new beginnings and unending possibilities. Many companies have IT departments that are internal to their company. Without these IT departments many companies would have many non working computers, networks, and other office devices that would hinder the business from making money. The current IT infrastructure is mostly maintained and operated in house by contracted employees that usually have a great knowledge of general electronics and computers. Being that IT is so important to how companies work it is always under scrutiny to continue to develop. With the cloud in mind there has recently been talk about how IT could use the cloud to advance their efforts. Information Technology as a Service (ITaaS) has become a new reality for some companies. The idea is that IT organizations can use the cloud to move away from an Infrastructure platform to a Service model. This ITaaS model promotes IT being setup to be much more effective than it currently is. One concept from this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Ishmael Chapter Reflection Paper The chapters introduce some of the effects hunger has on human physiology and behavior. I learned the glimpse of disrespect, discords among the villagers, forceful recruits from the rebels, misbehavior among the youth and lack of trust amongst the villagers because of experience from torture, mass killings, mutilations, and wars. It is vivid that one doesn t have to be in the military to suffer psychosis issues such as depression and PTSD as reflected in Ishmael, who felt these and expresses the feelings multiple times in the assigned chapters. I learned from the character of a mother with a five year old boy, who accommodated the six homeless and hungry boys that forcefully grabbed the two hairs of corn from her son. All these greatly... Personally, I cannot fathom the reality of not experiencing nor enjoying my youthful years, the experience Ismael missed in his growth development which makes me feel bad for him. Ishmael never gets an answer to know if his family (grand parents, parents, and siblings) is dead or alive, which is a pain he bears for life. Furthermore, I think I changed from the way I participated in the discourse to express more about how I feel and how it has impacted me rather than expressing more on what happens to Ishmael in the chapters. Based on the discourse, I have changed knowing that even the next person to me might be a victim of one assault or the other. I have changed to be more sensitive to people s feelings and behaviors. I believe my facilitation is an effective one because I actively got everyone engaged, empowered them to express their personal feelings, made them observed the ground rules, and utilized the text book by incorporating in text citations to the discourse from Holtz (2017) that expresses how the boy soldiers are involuntarily recruited by being kidnapped from their villages and forced to commit atrocities upon threat of their own death (p. 152). At a point in time I have to offer fruits (artifact) to two participants that were not active enough as a source of energy to bring out more to the discussion. This helps ... • 41. Creation Myth Throughout our lives, we have heard many stories about the creation of earth and humans. Whether they are religious based, myths, folk tales, or stories passed on through generations; they all have a common purpose which is to explain how everything came to be. In the myth, The Creation of the Universe and Human Beings, the creation of earthis explained through two gods that essentially fashioned heaven and earth, as well as a goddess named Nu Kua that created human beings. Throughout this story there is a common theme of creation, and the explaining of how earth and human beings were created. Although this is a Chinese culture based myth, it still holds many similarities and relevance to our world today. We all have our own idea or belief ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. The Growth Of Internet Coupled With The Rise Of Multimedia... Abstract. The growth of internet coupled with the rise in networked infrastructure has resulted in exponential increase in the multimedia content being shared over the communication networks. The advancement in technology has resulted in increase in multimedia piracy. This is due to the fact that it is very easy to copy, duplicate and distributes multimedia content using current day technology. In such a scenario Digital Rights Management is one of the prominent issues to be dealt with and tremendous work is going on in this direction round the globe. Digital watermarking and fingerprinting have emerged as fundamental technologies to cater to DRM issues. These technologies have been found to be of prominent use in content authentication, copy protection, copyright control, broadcast monitoring and forensic applications. Various requirements of a digital watermarking system include Imperceptibility, Robustness, Security, Payload and Computational complexity. The main requirement of real time DRM systems is lesser computational complexity and high robustness. This chapter proposes and analyses a robust and computational efficient Image watermarking technique in spatial domain based on Inter Block Pixel Difference (IBPD). The cover image is divided into 8Г—8 non overlapping blocks and difference between intensities of two pixels of adjacent blocks at predefined positions is calculated. Depending upon the watermarkbit to be embedded; both the pixels are modified to bring the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
