E4 was launched on the 18th January
2001and is a british pay-tv companion to
channel 4 .
The E4 website claims that E4 provide
entertainment for a cutting edge young
audience, this is emphasized by the TV
programmes aired on this particular
channel which are all aimed at a young
demographic aged roughly 16-30
E4 is available on freeveiw, DSAT and
cable and E4 on sky HD.
3. E4 Stings Research
E4 stings are short 10 second clips which are aired in-between programmes
to identify the particular channel (E4).
All E4 stings are created by the channels audience through a competition
which allows a person to take the E4 logo and create a 10 second brand
sting, which if chosen will be aired on the E4 channel.
After looking at the finalist work and looking through the E4 sting website, it
is clear that E4 are looking for initiative ideas which emphasize this channels
attitude as well as the particular target audience (aged 16-30). It also states in
the rules that within reason – your idea can be quite naughty / irreverent /
provocative and the like. Use your common sense though.
