This document provides details for a stop motion animation project titled "E stings" by Vanessa Hartney. The 60-second animation will show building blocks spelling out "E4" while accompanied by an original soundtrack. It aims to capture the quirky style of E4 channel idents. 1. Unit 33 Stop Motion Animation
Statement of intent
Task: Generate finished ideas for a 60 second stop motion animation, with
original soundtrack.
(You must consider your potential audience. You should submit: An
appropriate treatment/script; a detailed and annotated storyboard with
timings; All pre-production test material (visual and sound) and
development work).

Title of the Animation:
Story or plot of animation
A tub of children’s play blocks will fall over.
The blocks will move one by one onto into a line
in the centre of the screen in front of the TV.
The blocks will then turn over so the letters face
the front.
Then the next row of block will come out of the
tub and do the same thing.
This will keep happening until a pyramid has
been made of building blocks.
Then the camera will zoom and back in again
to the top of the television.
At the top of the television the blocks will spell out E4.
Reasons for selection of theme (including inspiration from the work of others)
I wanted to created something quirky and quite
childish is this is something that is often seen on E4
E stings and programs.

2. Target Audience
My ident is supposed to advertise E4 and will
be seen on E 4.
According the to channel 4 website: “E4 is the
entertainment destination for a cutting edge
young audience
Its eccentric and witty persona and strong
branding make it a massive talking point“
E4 is on Freeview, DSAT and cable, and E4
HD on Sky increasing its audience potential
big time
It also won channel of the year at The
Broadcast Awards in Feb 2011
E4 is one of the most original digital channels,
creating and showing massive programs like
Skins, The Inbetweeners and Misfits

I will move the blocks piece and piece and them around.
I will also zoom in and out and move the cameras up to see the E4 blocks
Ideas for sound track
I will create something on soundation that is upbeat and quirky that will
match my footage.

I will complete risk a risk assessment but it is a very safe activity.
