PERSONAL STATEMENT
I am a conscientious and driven individual
who can work both independently and as a
team. My positive, friendly and trustworthy
approach to work, driven by common sense
allows me to complete all tasks to the highest
standard whilst confidently motivating and
working with others. Through studying
Theology I have gained many skills, including
analytical thinking, debating, essay writing
skills, research skills and improved further my social interactions through a deeper
emotional intelligence. I am always aiming for perfection which means that I am
inquisitive, hard-working and a team player. I am ambitious and believe that my
unique and driven personality will allow me to excel whilst being able to be a
personable and empathetic employee.
WORK EXPERIENCE- jobs and responsibilities involved.
Volunteering at a local primary school (Albourne C of E)
 Teaching children the value of team work.
 Engaging them team sports such as football and basketball.
General Assistant- Knights Budgens Hassocks, September 2012- June 2014.
 Familiar with using an EPOS tills for long periods of time.
 Utilising my maths skills .e. cash handling and stock management.
 Keeping the work environment at an acceptable level of hygiene e.g. Cleaning
the tills, windows, counters, shelves etc…
 Stock replenishment- both of fresh and ambient.
 Facing up the shop from fresh to ambient and frozen.
 Kiosk trained- lottery machine, cigarettes and spirits etc…
 Being aware and implementing the under 25’s rule: the selling of age restricted
products and IDing when appropriate.
 Assisting customers with their shopping- often assisting customers with visual
impairments.
 Being part of a vibrant team who enjoy the workplace.
 Great communication and customer service with people of all ages.

As well as the above, after being promoted my skills have grown dramatically-
 Both being a team member and often leading the team when management are
undertaking other tasks. This role involves me utilising my common sense to
working both within a team but also individually completing tasks delegated to
someone in a supervisory role.
 Organising my peers e.g. delegating jobs to the team such as stock/ cashier
roles.
 Taking in and checking off deliveries.
 Undertaking stock takes when appropriate.
 Reducing items, including items using the produce dating system e.g. A23
(January 23rd).
 Opening and closing shifts on the tills, both at the beginning of the day and at
the end. This involved returning tills contents to the safe ready to be counted.
 Issuing change and cash from the safe.
 Helping create POS.
 Reporting progress back to management
 Helping with promotion changeover. E.g. label printing and changeover.
 Dealing politely andconstructively with complaintsandreturns.E.g.exchanges
and returns of items that customers considered unsatisfactory.
 Enthusiastic attitude to giving great customer service and helping as much as I
can.
Sandwich Artist- Subway Burgess Hill, April 2015- Present
 Delivering Excellent Customer Service
 Food Preparation- cambros preparation.
 Able to prepare both Breakfast and normal menu to a high standard.
 Restocking the counter as appropriate.
 Checking off delivery.
 Lifting.

Head Blogger- Sexual Wellbeing Foundation, Summer 2015- September 2016.
 I currently volunteer for the charity.
 In charge of releasing weekly blogs through the website.
 Editing/ Proof reading these blogs.

 Sending out a monthly newsletter to the charity volunteers.
Hotel and Events Graduate, Quarter- Clifton Bristol. August 2016- present.
 Rotation based scheme around the business including four hotels, the bars and
restaurants and head office.
 Gained an insight into all aspects of hotel and restaurant management,
including front of house operations, such as team management, guest
interaction and event preparation, as well as a full understanding of back of
house operations.
 Monthly training in various management skills e.g. KPI’s, upselling, new
starters, 3rd party commission checks, handling money exchanges, courtesy
calls, making bookings using opera etc..
 Completing management training logs so that I can passionately understand
the various layers of management right from the bottom to the top.
 Helped organise and worked at various social events such as the NYE public
event and the staff Christmas party.
 Trained new members of staff and undertaken 1 to 1 meetings with staff
members.
 Had experience within housekeeping.
 Fire and First Aid trained.
