I am an enthusiastic, hard-working individual with a positive attitude to everything that I do. I am a good
communicator and enjoying working as part of a team. A major strength of mine is my tenacity to succeed in
everything that I do, whether it be in work, education or sport. I have an analytical mind and this has been further
developed whilst studying Mathematics at degree level.

Children`s play group leader - Voosh Holiday Club – In this role I assist in
organising a holiday club for children aged 4 to 11. I organise many activities including
sports, arts and crafts and games. This role has helped provide me wit h many
transferable qualities e.g. excellent team player, communication skills and organisation
skills.
St Vincent’s Primary School Volunteer – Volunteering as a Teaching Assistant and a
P.E. coordinator. Within this role I supported a number of children with a range of
special educational needs such as Dyslexia and Autism. I supported the teacher in
helping differentiate the delivery of their lessons. In addition I produced recording
system for their SEN DATA which school are now using to inform their lesson
preparation. In addition I demonstrated my initiative by creating a statistical analysis
programme that would enable school to identify progress achieved for children with a
range of special educational needs.
Fisherman’s Retreat Restaurant– I worked as a waiter. This involved taking orders,
serving meals. An important part of this role was maintaining customer satisfaction. In
addition, I demonstrated excellent communication skills and the ability to work under
pressure.
Norden Community Youth Club Worker- I helped organise a range of activities for
the youth club. I used my interest in Sport to organise a number of sporting activities
that took into account the varying sporting competences of the children I was working
with. The aim being to help promote sport for young children by making it enjoyable and
accessible.
Interests and Achievements
Long Distance Mountain Running: I am an elite long distance runner, competing over distances ranging
from 5000m up to half marathon over all terrains, whether it be cross country, track, road or fell/mountains.
Competing for Rossendale Harriers, Lancashire, Loughborough University and England gives me great pride and
the determination to train each day. I have been selected to represent England at mountain running on two
occasions and have won multiple national events, the most recent being the 2014 under 20 Fell Running
Association Championships.
Coaching: At my local athletics club, Rossendale Harriers, I take groups of all abilities, ranging from elite to
recreational runners for strength and conditioning training in our club gym. I set training regimes specific to the
individuals needs and apply the knowledge I have gained over many years as a runner and a sports scientist to
help improve the athlete in the areas that they require, whether it be to improve performance or reduce the risk
of injuries.

Ss Aidan and Oswald RC Primary School – I am currently employed as a Year 5
teacher in a primary school. In the short period of time I have spent working as a teacher
I have developed my skills comprehensively. I now have a greater ability at working
alongside colleagues and have successfully created superb working relationships that
have enabled a smooth transition into a new environment. Furthermore I have further
enhanced my time management skills in order to prioritise and meet regular deadlines set
by senior management.
