We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

1. In today’s technology driven society an e-Portfolio is a great
way to separate yourself from others. Whether searching for a
job, working as a teacher, or as a student there are many great
benefits to creating an E-portfolio. It allows you to share your
skills, abilities, and achievements. While there are many ways
to design an e-Portfolio it should contain both artifacts and
reflection.
An artifact can be any item that you want to share with others.
This can include typed documents, pictures, videos, even
PowerPoints or other presentations. When choosing artifacts, it
is important to think of the relevance to your audience, and how
it fits in a collection of other artifacts that can then be
showcased together. Some of the artifacts I would like to
include are certificates of completion from trainings that
showcase some of the different skills I have obtained especially
working with diverse populations. Lesson plans especially those
I have helped create to be more inclusive of all students. And
some information about me such as pictures of coaching, my
personal teaching philosophy, and items that show how I
contribute in my community such as volunteer work.
The ability to tell your reason for sharing the artifacts you
did and why they are so important is the reflection piece of an
e-Portfolio. As stated by Lorenzo and Ittelson, “The benefits of
2. an e-portfolio typically derive from the exchange of ideas and
feedback between the author and those who view and interact with
the e-portfolio (2005). By sharing and reflecting I can reach
out and explain to others why what I have done, the skills I
have, and the ideas I can share are so important to me and how I
can relate to others in my community including other teachers,
parents, students, and administrators.
My main goal for creating this e-Portfolio is to be able to use
it in my future job search. While I construct this specific e-
Portfolio with that goal in mind it does not exclude me from
seeing the benefits of creating a e-Portfolio to share with
future students or parents, creating a classroom e-Portfolio, or
having students create their own e-Portfolio. The possibilities
with e-Portfolio’s truly are endless if they are electronic,
have artifacts, and reflection.
