Dyscalculia is a math-related learning disability that makes math tasks difficult for students. Children with dyscalculia may struggle with number sense, memorizing math facts, recognizing patterns, and understanding information from charts or graphs. Dyscalculia affects a student's working memory and ability to solve multi-step problems. Genetic disorders and prematurity can increase the risk of dyscalculia. Treatment focuses on multisensory instruction that uses concrete examples and visual aids to systematically build math skills.
This test is designed as a brief survey to identify the possibility of the presence of the learning
disability Dyscalculia, a problem that can interfere with a student’s ability to understand and use
math and spatial reasoning. Because this quiz is general and designed to be used throughout the
elementary grades, younger students may not understand all of the questions. This is normal and not
a big source of concern.
PowerPoint Slides for the Primary (grades 1 - 3) break-out sessions for the Kootenay-Boundary Regional Consortium Summer Institute in Numeracy, held in Cranbrook on August 27th, 2009.
In contrast to talking or walking, which are acquired developmental milestones that emerge with brain maturation, academic skills (e.g., reading, spelling, writing, mathematics) have to be taught and learned explicitly.
• Specific learning disorder disrupts the normal pattern of learning academic skills; it is not simply a consequence of lack of opportunity of learning or inadequate instruction.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

2. Dyscalculia
What is it?
This is a math related learning disability that makes math tasks difficult for
students. Children may have a harder time understanding quantities vs concepts or
have a hard time grasping number senses(4=four).The mechanics of math like
recalling math facts may also be a challenge to a child. Along with that, the
working memory of being able to remember factors when doing a multiple step
problem can be difficult too.
