This document discusses using OpenNebula and SGE to create dynamic virtual private clusters in a cloud computing environment. It describes SURFsara's HPC infrastructure, including a cloud with 30 large compute nodes. A typical cluster configuration and job process are outlined. The document also explains how a queue monitor script works to dynamically add and remove virtual nodes from job queues in the cloud cluster based on demand, using OpenNebula and SGE. Future plans for the cloud include upgrading OpenNebula, adding more nodes and storage, and integrating GPUs.
