This study sought to establish the influence of monitoring and evaluation tools usage on agricultural
project success. The main tools that study focused on were; Mobile Application, Logical Framework, Monitoring
and Evaluation plan, and Data Dashboard. The four main objective that guided the study includes: To establish
how Mobile Application usage influences agricultural project success in NGO`s, in Kenya, To determine how
Logical framework usage influences agricultural project success in NGO`s, in Kenya, To establish how Monitoring
and evaluation plan usage influences agricultural project success in NGO`s, in Kenya and To find out how Data
dashboard usage influences agricultural project success in NGO`s, in Kenya. The study adopted descriptive
research design while targeting 56 Project and Monitoring and Evaluation employees at Farm Africa.
Questionnaire was used to collect data. Final collected data was analyzed using qualitative and quantitative
methods together will linear regression model. Qualitative data was coded to their respective variable in the study
for easier analysis while quantitative was summarized by obtaining descriptive statistics. The data was presented
inform of tables and graphs. The SPSS and Excel software’s was used to model and obtain summary tables and
graphs. The multiple linear regression and Pearson pairwise correlation was used to model the data. On average
79% of the respondents, revealed monitoring and evaluation had high extent influence on project success. All the
five monitoring and evalation tools, Mobile applications, Logical framework, monitoring and evaluation plan and
data dashbord shown strong positive correlation with project success. Further Study revealed evidence of positive
influence of monitoring and evaluation tools on agricultural project success. From the results 83.2% of the changes
in project success can be explained by monitoring and evaluation tools studied while the remaining 16.8% can be
explained using other factors which are not part of the regression model. The study concluded the strength of
Mobile applications, Logical framework, monitoring and evaluation plan and data dashbord is very important for
the poject success and management should incorporate these tools during project implementation.

The University of Kentucky strives to build the best in class technology and resources to help students succeed. Our latest innovation is the new Academic Exploration Tool (AET) which helps prospective and current students apply their interests and career aspirations to connect with hundreds of academic degree programs offered at UK. AET provides a new way for prospective and current students to search and explore the majors offered at the University of Kentucky. The platform (Drupal 7) has been built from the ground up to meet not only the needs of both prospective and current students, but also UK faculty, staff and advisors. This project involved migrating from curriculum sheets (PDFs), which were routine, unresponsive, and resource intensive. The platform uses college/departmental level taxonomy permissions to allow for every college to edit and update content (revisions) for their degree program. Each program page has been customized with rich images, program statistics, content, curriculum and information specific to that academic degree program. We have utilized the Bureau of Labor and Statistics Public Data API (www.bls.gov) to bring in career statistics, salary information and facts and figures directly from the Occupational Outlook Handbook. Over 5,000 keywords have been imported into the system as taxonomy from UT-Knoxville's “What Can I Do With This Major” resource - this allows for students to search for career keywords that match with one of our degree programs. Keywords continue to improve and expand as users experience the system. Additionally, students can search for academic degree programs via non-cognitive phrases like “I like to be creative”, “I like to solve problems”, “I like to help others” and so on. The site uses responsive design to deliver great experiences across all devices. Additionally, as UK migrates over to a central ecosystem for planning, auditing and registration, real-time curriculum data will be integrated for each degree program via a web-service. This will allow for dynamic PDF printing, downloading and email. Now, students have one central location to search and explore all that UK has to offer. To date, this has helped advisors ‘break the ice’ and start the conversation about career planning and exploration, as well as recruiters and academic colleges communicate their degree programs with efficiency and ease. Generating a Domain Specific Inspection Evaluation Method through an Adaptive...
The growth of the Internet and related technologies has enabled the development of a new breed of dynamic websites and applications that are growing rapidly in use and that have had a great impact on many businesses. These websites need to be continuously evaluated and monitored to measure their efficiency and effectiveness, to assess user satisfaction, and ultimately to improve their quality. Nearly all the studies have used Heuristic Evaluation (HE) and User Testing (UT) methodologies, which have become the accepted methods for the usability evaluation of User Interface Design (UID); however, the former is general, and unlikely to encompass all usability attributes for all website domains. The latter is expensive, time consuming and misses consistency problems. To address this need, new evaluation method is developed using traditional evaluations (HE and UT) in novel ways.
The lack of a methodological framework that can be used to generate a domain-specific evaluation method, which can then be used to improve the usability assessment process for a product in any chosen domain, represents a missing area in usability testing. This paper proposes an adapting framework and evaluates it by generating an evaluation method for assessing and improving the usability of a product, called Domain Specific Inspection (DSI), and then analysing it empirically by applying it on the educational domain. Our experiments show that the adaptive framework is able to build a formative and summative evaluation method that provides optimal results with regard to the identification of comprehensive usability problem areas and relevant usability evaluation method (UEM) metrics, with minimum input in terms of the cost and time usually spent on employing UEMs.
Extending utaut to explain social media adoption by microbusinesses
This document summarizes a study that extends the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) to explain social media adoption by microbusinesses. The study used action research to facilitate the adoption of a Facebook business page by a microbusiness. Personal Cloud Computing (PCC) is a rapidly growing technology, addressing the market demand of individual users for access to available and reliable resources. But like other new technologies, concerns and issues have surfaced with the adoption of PCC. Users deciding whether to adopt PCC may be concerned about the ease of use, usefulness, or security risks in the cloud. Negative attitudes toward using a technology have been found to negatively impact the success of that technology. The purpose of this study was to understand users’ acceptance of PCC. The population sample consisted of individual users within the United States between 18 and 80 years of age. The theoretical framework utilized in this study was based on the technology acceptance model (TAM). A web survey was conducted to assess the measurement and understanding of patterns demonstrated by participants. Our results shows that in spite of the potential benefits of PCC, security and privacy risks are deterring many users from moving towards PCC.

Our latest innovation is the new Academic Exploration Tool (AET) which helps prospective and current students apply their interests and career aspirations to connect with hundreds of academic degree programs offered at UK. AET provides a new way for prospective and current students to search and explore the majors offered at the University of Kentucky. The platform (Drupal 7) has been built from the ground up to meet not only the needs of both prospective and current students, but also UK faculty, staff and advisors. This project involved migrating from curriculum sheets (PDFs), which were routine, unresponsive, and resource intensive. The platform uses college/departmental level taxonomy permissions to allow for every college to edit and update content (revisions) for their degree program. Each program page has been customized with rich images, program statistics, content, curriculum and information specific to that academic degree program. We have utilized the Bureau of Labor and Statistics Public Data API (www.bls.gov) to bring in career statistics, salary information and facts and figures directly from the Occupational Outlook Handbook. Over 5,000 keywords have been imported into the system as taxonomy from UT-Knoxville's “What Can I Do With This Major” resource - this allows for students to search for career keywords that match with one of our degree programs. Keywords continue to improve and expand as users experience the system. Additionally, students can search for academic degree programs via non-cognitive phrases like “I like to be creative”, “I like to solve problems”, “I like to help others” and so on. The site uses responsive design to deliver great experiences across all devices. Additionally, as UK migrates over to a central ecosystem for planning, auditing and registration, real-time curriculum data will be integrated for each degree program via a web-service. This will allow for dynamic PDF printing, downloading and email. Now, students have one central location to search and explore all that UK has to offer. To date, this has helped advisors ‘break the ice’ and start the conversation about career planning and exploration, as well as recruiters and academic colleges communicate their degree programs with efficiency and ease. Generating a Domain Specific Inspection Evaluation Method through an Adaptive...
The growth of the Internet and related technologies has enabled the development of a new breed of dynamic websites and applications that are growing rapidly in use and that have had a great impact on many businesses. These websites need to be continuously evaluated and monitored to measure their efficiency and effectiveness, to assess user satisfaction, and ultimately to improve their quality. Nearly all the studies have used Heuristic Evaluation (HE) and User Testing (UT) methodologies, which have become the accepted methods for the usability evaluation of User Interface Design (UID); however, the former is general, and unlikely to encompass all usability attributes for all website domains. The latter is expensive, time consuming and misses consistency problems. To address this need, new evaluation method is developed using traditional evaluations (HE and UT) in novel ways.
The lack of a methodological framework that can be used to generate a domain-specific evaluation method, which can then be used to improve the usability assessment process for a product in any chosen domain, represents a missing area in usability testing. This paper proposes an adapting framework and evaluates it by generating an evaluation method for assessing and improving the usability of a product, called Domain Specific Inspection (DSI), and then analysing it empirically by applying it on the educational domain. Our experiments show that the adaptive framework is able to build a formative and summative evaluation method that provides optimal results with regard to the identification of comprehensive usability problem areas and relevant usability evaluation method (UEM) metrics, with minimum input in terms of the cost and time usually spent on employing UEMs.
Extending utaut to explain social media adoption by microbusinesses
This document summarizes a study that extends the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) to explain social media adoption by microbusinesses. The study used action research to facilitate the adoption of a Facebook business page by a microbusiness. Understanding User’s Acceptance of Personal Cloud Computing: Using the Techno...
Personal Cloud Computing (PCC) is a rapidly growing technology, addressing the market demand of individual users for access to available and reliable resources. But like other new technologies, concerns and issues have surfaced with the adoption of PCC. Users deciding whether to adopt PCC may be concerned about the ease of use, usefulness, or security risks in the cloud. Negative attitudes toward using a technology have been found to negatively impact the success of that technology. The purpose of this study was to understand users’ acceptance of PCC. The population sample consisted of individual users within the United States between 18 and 80 years of age. The theoretical framework utilized in this study was based on the technology acceptance model (TAM). A web survey was conducted to assess the measurement and understanding of patterns demonstrated by participants. Our results shows that in spite of the potential benefits of PCC, security and privacy risks are deterring many users from moving towards PCC.

CITIZENS’ ACCEPTANCE OF E-GOVERNMENT SERVICES
The rate of computer and internet usage has been increasing rapidly around the world. In parallel with the
technologic developments in computer science, transformation from traditional services to online services
has gained speed. The aim of this study is to predict the factors that affect e-government service usage. A
research model is developed to achieve this aim. The proposed model bases on Technology Acceptance
Model and Theory of Planned Behaviour. A questionnaire is developed to evaluate the model. This

Mutation Testing for Task-Oriented Chatbots
Conversational agents, or chatbots, are increasingly used to access all sorts of services using natural language. While open-domain chatbots - like ChatGPT - can converse on any topic, task-oriented chatbots - the focus of this paper - are designed for specific tasks, like booking a flight, obtaining customer support, or setting an appointment. Like any other software, task-oriented chatbots need to be properly tested, usually by defining and executing test scenarios (i.e., sequences of user-chatbot interactions). However, there is currently a lack of methods to quantify the completeness and strength of such test scenarios, which can lead to low-quality tests, and hence to buggy chatbots.
To fill this gap, we propose adapting mutation testing (MuT) for task-oriented chatbots. To this end, we introduce a set of mutation operators that emulate faults in chatbot designs, an architecture that enables MuT on chatbots built using heterogeneous technologies, and a practical realisation as an Eclipse plugin. Moreover, we evaluate the applicability, effectiveness and efficiency of our approach on open-source chatbots, with promising results.

From Natural Language to Structured Solr Queries using LLMs
This talk draws on experimentation to enable AI applications with Solr. One important use case is to use AI for better accessibility and discoverability of the data: while User eXperience techniques, lexical search improvements, and data harmonization can take organizations to a good level of accessibility, a structural (or “cognitive” gap) remains between the data user needs and the data producer constraints.
That is where AI – and most importantly, Natural Language Processing and Large Language Model techniques – could make a difference. This natural language, conversational engine could facilitate access and usage of the data leveraging the semantics of any data source.
The objective of the presentation is to propose a technical approach and a way forward to achieve this goal.
The key concept is to enable users to express their search queries in natural language, which the LLM then enriches, interprets, and translates into structured queries based on the Solr index’s metadata.
This approach leverages the LLM’s ability to understand the nuances of natural language and the structure of documents within Apache Solr.
The LLM acts as an intermediary agent, offering a transparent experience to users automatically and potentially uncovering relevant documents that conventional search methods might overlook. The presentation will include the results of this experimental work, lessons learned, best practices, and the scope of future work that should improve the approach and make it production-ready.
