Drainage Problem
I. Introduction
Duringthe rainy daysmostof the Purokhere inour barangay experiencedserious flooding, and
the most affected purok in about flood is Purok Makawiwili, Purok Masipag, and other purok in
Barangay Punta taytay. In our purok we experience the sudden flood when heavy rains occur, and
especiallyinDaniel’sJohnarea,ittakes2 or 5 days more until the floodwiddsubside.Sothe people are
worried because the flood that have been stock can cause diseases for example dengue, fungus
infection, diarrhea, leptospirosis and other water borne diseases. There’s a drainage between in
masinulondon and purok makawiwili, but this drainage cannot support all big excavation that cause
stagnant water, and that stagnant water cause flood in our purk, And that stagnant water where the
mosquitolivesandbecome theirshelter.Theireggsare beenstockand their egg will become older and
turns intomosquito again. And also the most problem is when the smell of stagnant water flown into
the air, the childrenare sick because of the bad smell of stagnant water. And the problem is the waste
of human has been thrown in the stagnant water. Waterborne diseases due to unhygienic conditions
within the city. It took another half a century to realise the extent of the pollution generated in the
environment by the concentrated discharges of organic matter. It took still another half century to
realise the extentof pollutionwithpolluting substances other than organic matter. It is becoming clear
that the contribution from runoff is of significance. Drainage systems can contribute to sustainable
development and improve the places and spaces where we live, work and play by balancing the
different opportunities and challenges that influence urban design and the development of
communities.
II. Purpose
Purpose of this project is to drain all the stagnant water in our area. And to protect the people
that surrounds in that big excavation and also for the safety of the people that living here in our
community. And also for plantation purposes like camote tops, vegetables in order to get some
livelihood or become a business. The most purpose of this is for any diseases like dangerous dengue ,
diarrhea,leptospirosis,fungalinfection,andanyotherwaterborne diseases.Andif thisdrainage system
will be builtthe essential part of living here in our purok , it will reduces flood damage by carrying the
wateraway. In here inour areas, we needto create alternative ways for this water to drain away. Large
amounts of water can build up quickly during heavy rain and storms, and without adequate drainage
this flows towards low-lying land, causing flooding, damage and safety risks. For decades though,
thousandsof conservationfarms with sloping and steep ground diligently used conservation practices
and techniquestoreduce soil erosion, minimize nutrient loads, and improve water quality. Vegetation
that growsin the basinandfiltermediapreventserosion, minimisesclogging and encourages biological
uptake of nutrientsandpollutants.Vegetation is critical to maintaining the porosity of the filter media
and generally the denser the vegetation the better the performance of the system. The planting of
deep-rootedperennialvegetation,includingtrees,shouldbe encouragedtoaidinfiltrationandminimise
inundation of the basins in areas of high groundwater table. Drainage systems can prevent water
accumulation that can lead to flooding by directing the water away from your home. Water that over-
accumulates in your yard may kill plants. Drainage systems also prevent the accumulation of stagnant
water,whichcan encourage mosquitoestobreed. Overtime,stagnantwateraccumulatedcanmake soil
muddy, which in turn can cause soil to erode. Drainage systems maintain balanced moisture in your
garden to reduce soil erosion.
III. Project Desciption
3.1 Goals and Objectives
The goalsof thisprojectis to eliminate the stagnatwaterandto carriedout the waste to prevent
deiseaseshere inourbarangayinorder that the diseaseswill be lessenhere, the mosqutiowillnot live
here anymore. The badsmell thatthe childrenbreathineverydaythatcanoccur the diseasesthatthe
childrenmayget.Andif thisprojectwill be successful we will be verythankful becausethe people that
livinghere willhave abetterlifestyle andalsoforthe safetyof theirnutritioninthiscase.Andthe
people thatlivinginthisareacanlimittheirgarbage to throw inthe water. We needthisprojecttobe
appliedhere inourareabecause we as the people here will be the beneficiaryandwe canalso benefits
inthisproject. We can plantinthisarea like vegetables, because Iknow thatthissoil isveryrichin
fertilizer, andbecause of thiswe canget ourfoodand we are benefitedof thisbecause we cangetour

growed here. Andif thiscassedwill be passedmanypeoplewillbe the beneficiaryof thisproject, andif
thismoneywill be abiglossin the fundof the governmentbutstill many will have agoodhealthand

thisprojectwill be completedassoonas possible because manypeople are beingaffectedhere.Andwe
alsoas a studentare affectedandwe are proposingthisconceptpaperbecause we will be convenient
somedayforhavinga drainage systemhere inourcommunity.Andtothe one readingthisrightnowwe
hope that you’ll understandthe problemthatwe are facingeverydayandespeciallywhenthe heavy

3.2 Methodology and Timeline
In the first place, we study the issue and we found out the negative effects here in our
community.Thatwill cause the diseasesthatmaybe affecttothe healthof the everyperson
here. And in the second place we wrote the this concept paper to inform our barangay
captain about the issue that we are encounter everyday and for also you will know the
instancesof beinghere inourcommunity.Andif you’ll readingthisrightnow we’ll reaching
for yourhelpandyour kindlyhearttopursue thisprojecthere inour community. And if this
projectwill be grantedbyour beloved barangay captain will be reaching out also in her co-
companions to reach out the fund that will be needed to repair or to pursue this project.
And also the cost that will be needed in this project. And if the project was approved as
honored by the barangay captain and we ordered that in the first week of this month can
yousendus the materialsandthe workers that needed to work on this project and also for
the mean time you must do first sippen out the water that has been stock in this big
excavation in order that the work will be continuous and after that time by time they will
start nowtheirworkby havingthe complete materialsthatthisprojectwill be needed. And
before thatthe waterthat will be surroundedbythe drainage systemmust be clean in also,
that their will be no bad smell during the construction.
3.3 Benefits/Anticipated Outcomes
If this project are become successful the benefits in our people who lives in this area and
also our purok will have a better lifestyle or have a good life have a good body and their
children. During the time of rainy days there’s no more flood will be stock or occur in that
place that can cause diseasesandotherwaterborne diseases and it will be prevented. And
the otherbenefitsalsowe cannotalsoinhale the badsmell of the stagnant water that stock
in many months and even a year. We can benefit in this by having the plantation of
vegetablesbecause if the waterwillbe subsidebyhavingamanhole ordrainage systemthat
will bringoutthe waterout and carriedoutin the sea.No more garbage that will be thrown
inthe bigexcavationtodumpandbuildingahome no more garbage throwing that produce
of bigratsthat can cause of leptospirosisthat can harm the health of the people living here
inour area. Nomore mosquitowill be livinginthisareathatcarry theireggand hatchedand
produce of million og mosquito, that can cause of dengue, mallariaor zika virus. No more
diseaseswill be harm of their children and to the next generation here in our area. I know
thisprojectismore hard to do it to accomplish, butstill we are hopingthatyouwill consider
us or you can do it. Because this problem have a solution and we kno that you as the
barangay captain can help us to solves this problem and also there’s a answer to any
problemthatwe may face each day. Many will benefitsinthisprojectthatcanrecieve inthe
people who are in line that living here in our community. The benefits of this project, can
produce manyvarietyof vegtables,like waterspinach,squashandothervegetablesthatcan
plant in this big exacavation or hole.
IV. Support needed and Cost
In this case the money we think that will be needed during this work or to accomplish this
project is about 5 million pesos. That can accompanied the big excavation to put the
drainage system to support in this project that we will be aiming about. And if this project
will not be accomplish faster but still well be waiting that it will be finish in the right time
and to preventthe floodingandhavingdiseases here in our area. And we are pleasing you
to help us and By the Glory also of God to help us in this problem that we facing in our
everyday lives.

Drainage problem

  • 1. Drainage Problem I. Introduction Duringthe rainy daysmostof the Purokhere inour barangay experiencedserious flooding, and the most affected purok in about flood is Purok Makawiwili, Purok Masipag, and other purok in Barangay Punta taytay. In our purok we experience the sudden flood when heavy rains occur, and especiallyinDaniel’sJohnarea,ittakes2 or 5 days more until the floodwiddsubside.Sothe people are worried because the flood that have been stock can cause diseases for example dengue, fungus infection, diarrhea, leptospirosis and other water borne diseases. There’s a drainage between in masinulondon and purok makawiwili, but this drainage cannot support all big excavation that cause stagnant water, and that stagnant water cause flood in our purk, And that stagnant water where the mosquitolivesandbecome theirshelter.Theireggsare beenstockand their egg will become older and turns intomosquito again. And also the most problem is when the smell of stagnant water flown into the air, the childrenare sick because of the bad smell of stagnant water. And the problem is the waste of human has been thrown in the stagnant water. Waterborne diseases due to unhygienic conditions within the city. It took another half a century to realise the extent of the pollution generated in the environment by the concentrated discharges of organic matter. It took still another half century to realise the extentof pollutionwithpolluting substances other than organic matter. It is becoming clear that the contribution from runoff is of significance. Drainage systems can contribute to sustainable development and improve the places and spaces where we live, work and play by balancing the different opportunities and challenges that influence urban design and the development of communities. II. Purpose Purpose of this project is to drain all the stagnant water in our area. And to protect the people that surrounds in that big excavation and also for the safety of the people that living here in our community. And also for plantation purposes like camote tops, vegetables in order to get some livelihood or become a business. The most purpose of this is for any diseases like dangerous dengue , diarrhea, leptospirosis, fungalinfection, andanyotherwaterborne diseases.Andif thisdrainage system will be builtthe essential part of living here in our purok , it will reduces flood damage by carrying the wateraway. In here inour areas, we needto create alternative ways for this water to drain away. Large amounts of water can build up quickly during heavy rain and storms, and without adequate drainage this flows towards low-lying land, causing flooding, damage and safety risks. For decades though, thousandsof conservationfarms with sloping and steep ground diligently used conservation practices and techniquestoreduce soil erosion, minimize nutrient loads, and improve water quality. Vegetation that growsin the basinandfiltermediapreventserosion, minimisesclogging and encourages biological uptake of nutrientsandpollutants.Vegetation is critical to maintaining the porosity of the filter media and generally the denser the vegetation the better the performance of the system. The planting of deep-rootedperennialvegetation,includingtrees,shouldbe encouragedtoaidinfiltrationandminimise inundation of the basins in areas of high groundwater table. Drainage systems can prevent water accumulation that can lead to flooding by directing the water away from your home. Water that over- accumulates in your yard may kill plants. Drainage systems also prevent the accumulation of stagnant water, whichcan encourage mosquitoestobreed. Overtime, stagnantwateraccumulatedcanmake soil muddy, which in turn can cause soil to erode. Drainage systems maintain balanced moisture in your garden to reduce soil erosion. III. Project Desciption 3.1 Goals and Objectives The goalsof thisprojectis to eliminate the stagnatwaterandto carriedout the waste to prevent deiseaseshere inourbarangayinorder that the diseaseswill be lessenhere, the mosqutiowillnot live here anymore. The badsmell thatthe childrenbreathineverydaythatcanoccur the diseasesthatthe childrenmayget.Andif thisprojectwill be successful we will be verythankful becausethe people that livinghere willhave abetterlifestyle andalsoforthe safetyof theirnutritioninthiscase.Andthe people thatlivinginthisareacanlimittheirgarbage to throw inthe water. We needthisprojecttobe appliedhere inourareabecause we as the people here will be the beneficiaryandwe canalso benefits inthisproject. We can plantinthisarea like vegetables, because Iknow thatthissoil isveryrichin fertilizer, andbecause of thiswe canget ourfoodand we are benefitedof thisbecause we cangetour needasa rightnutrition, andalsointhe otherside we can have moneybysellingthe cropsthatbeen growed here. Andif thiscassedwill be passedmanypeoplewillbe the beneficiaryof thisproject, andif thismoneywill be abiglossin the fundof the governmentbutstill many will have agoodhealthand

Thiscan adverselyimpactonthe natural environment, resultinginincreasedflooding of land, increasedwaterwayerosion, transportof sedimentandpollutants, anddetrimental impactson aquaticand riparianlife.Furthermore, inrelationtothe builtenvironment, anyincrease inthe frequencyandintensityof floodingmayimpactonpropertyandrecreational uses. Andalsothis Flood flowscandamage builtassetsandimpact onhuman safety. Thisdrainage needstoconsiderthe extent, velocityanddurationof floodonthe builtenvironmentandissuesassociatedwithhumanaccess, isolationandprotection. Andwe asreachingforyourhelpyoumustconsiderthe safetyof the people that livinghere inyourcommunitybecause youare the one thatbeenthe leadertothiscommunityand we will be verythankful if youwill be passedthisproject. The excesswaterwhichimpedesthe root respirationandwhichdirectlyattacksthe roottissue of mostcrops isremoved. The abilitytogrowan extensive rootsystemmeansthatthe planthasa largervolume of soil, fromwhichitextractsnutrient and water. The removal of free waterbydrainage allowsthe soil towarmup quickly.Propersoil temperature acceleratesplantgrowthandbacterial activityconditionsforearlyplantingandbetter germination. The presence of airinsoil isessential forthe growthof beneficialsoil bacteriawhich convertsthe soil organicmatterand fertilizersintoavailableplantfood. 3.2 Methodology and Timeline In the first place, we study the issue and we found out the negative effects here in our community.Thatwill cause the diseasesthatmaybe affecttothe healthof the everyperson here. And in the second place we wrote the this concept paper to inform our barangay captain about the issue that we are encounter everyday and for also you will know the instancesof beinghere inourcommunity.Andif you’ll readingthisrightnow we’ll reaching for yourhelpandyour kindlyhearttopursue thisprojecthere inour community. And if this projectwill be grantedbyour beloved barangay captain will be reaching out also in her co- companions to reach out the fund that will be needed to repair or to pursue this project. And also the cost that will be needed in this project. And if the project was approved as honored by the barangay captain and we ordered that in the first week of this month can yousendus the materialsandthe workers that needed to work on this project and also for the mean time you must do first sippen out the water that has been stock in this big excavation in order that the work will be continuous and after that time by time they will start nowtheirworkby havingthe complete materialsthatthisprojectwill be needed. And before thatthe waterthat will be surroundedbythe drainage systemmust be clean in also, that their will be no bad smell during the construction. 3.3 Benefits/Anticipated Outcomes If this project are become successful the benefits in our people who lives in this area and also our purok will have a better lifestyle or have a good life have a good body and their children. During the time of rainy days there’s no more flood will be stock or occur in that place that can cause diseasesandotherwaterborne diseases and it will be prevented. And the otherbenefitsalsowe cannotalsoinhale the badsmell of the stagnant water that stock in many months and even a year. We can benefit in this by having the plantation of vegetablesbecause if the waterwillbe subsidebyhavingamanhole ordrainage systemthat will bringoutthe waterout and carriedoutin the sea.No more garbage that will be thrown inthe bigexcavationtodumpandbuildingahome no more garbage throwing that produce of bigratsthat can cause of leptospirosisthat can harm the health of the people living here inour area. Nomore mosquitowill be livinginthisareathatcarry theireggand hatchedand produce of million og mosquito, that can cause of dengue, mallariaor zika virus. No more diseaseswill be harm of their children and to the next generation here in our area. I know thisprojectismore hard to do it to accomplish, butstill we are hopingthatyouwill consider
  • 3. us or you can do it. Because this problem have a solution and we kno that you as the barangay captain can help us to solves this problem and also there’s a answer to any problemthatwe may face each day. Many will benefitsinthisprojectthatcanrecieve inthe people who are in line that living here in our community. The benefits of this project, can produce manyvarietyof vegtables, like waterspinach, squashandothervegetablesthatcan plant in this big exacavation or hole. IV. Support needed and Cost In this case the money we think that will be needed during this work or to accomplish this project is about 5 million pesos. That can accompanied the big excavation to put the drainage system to support in this project that we will be aiming about. And if this project will not be accomplish faster but still well be waiting that it will be finish in the right time and to preventthe floodingandhavingdiseases here in our area. And we are pleasing you to help us and By the Glory also of God to help us in this problem that we facing in our everyday lives. V.
