3. After the completion of a Masters program in Applied Statistics degree, students are able to
enter a Doctorate program to obtain their Doctorate in Applied Statistics. This degree prepares
the student for a possible career in academia. Students would have already studied a number of
statistics subjects during the process of their Master's degree which they would be applying to
research during their Doctorate in the subject.

5. A Doctorate in Applied Statistics grounds a graduate in statistical research. Some students do go
on to work in the public, medical and private sectors at a higher level or begin a business in
private statistical consulting, most students obtaining a Doctorate in this field are looking to
improve knowledge in the field. Statistical researchers are generally professors at universities
and most tend to do research in techniques and theorems.

7. The Doctorate needs an advanced mathematical understanding. This would include Real
Analysis, Topology, complex variables, multi-variable calculus and more.
