• Online courses will be scheduled with
equivalent credit hours as their face-to-face
counterparts.

• All materials developed by faculty for use in
distance education courses are jointly owned
by ECAE and the authoring faculty member.
• ECAE retains the right to used and reused by
ECAE without the consent of the instructor
responsible for developing the course.
4. Technical Skills
• Any faculty wishing to teaching in the distance
mode must first successfully complete the
Office of Professional Development’s
“Introduction to Teaching Online” and
complete the International Computer Driver’s
License (ICDL) before being assigned any
online teaching loads.

• The Educational Technology Department will
be responsible for providing timely
technology-related support for faculty
teaching distance education courses.

also provide faculty teaching distance
education courses with continuous support by
assigning the faculty member a Technology

that their online courses are not in violation of
UAE or international copyright laws.

meets the high level of quality required by all
ECAE course and to this end must ensure that

• Clearly posted grading rubrics for each assessed item.
• Clearly posted methods for contacting the instructor.

contained within the course.
• Clear timelines for the provision of feedback to
students.
