EYE/FACE PPE
Eyeglasses, together with screens and visors, are the most important
eye protection devices against mechanical, optical, electrical, chemical
and thermal risks.
www.seagruppo.it Personal protective equipment
EYE/FACE PPE
EXAMPLES
www.seagruppo.it Personal protective equipment
EYE/FACE PPE
Depending on the type of risk, the protection capabilities of glasses, visors and
screens may vary. For example, when dealing with mechanical risk of contact
with splinters, fragments, etc., impact resistance is variable.
In order from the top:
• Protection class
• Manufacturer ID
• Optical class
• Mechanical resistance
• CE mark
• DIN – Proof of conformity
• Anti-fog
• Scratch resistance
www.seagruppo.it Personal protective equipment
EYE/FACE PPE
For example, for the optical radiation risk in welding activities, the protection
factor determines the obscuration degree of the mask. Based on the type of
welding, it will be necessary to choose the most suitable scale number (DIN
grade).

RESPIRATORY SYSTEM PPE
PPE for the respiratory tract consists of a series of devices capable of
protecting against harmful agents such as dust, vapours, gases.
EXAMPLE
S
Dust mask Half-mask
Full-face mask
www.seagruppo.it Personal protective equipment
RESPIRATORY SYSTEM PPE
These masks protect ONLY from dust and NOT from gases.
Depending on the filtering capability the mask is able to retain more or less
small particles.
www.seagruppo.it Personal protective equipment
RESPIRATORY SYSTEM PPE
When wearing the mask, make sure that it adheres well to the face.
è
1. Lift the ends of the
two flaps of the
respirator and shape
the nose guard by
exerting a slight
pressure in the
center. While holding
the respirator on the
palm of your hand
pull the bottom flap
to obtain the shell-
like configuration
2. Turn the
mask upside
down and
grab the
rubberband
3. Put the lower
side on the chin
and fix the
ruberbands on your
head.
4. Place the
lower
rubberband
under the ears
and the upper
one over the
ears. Fix them
until you reach
a comfortable
position.
