Discipline is controlled behaviour. It
constitutes the next important concern of
teachers as part of good management. No
matter how well-managed a learning
environment is, students will occasionally
misbehave. Teachers must be ready to deal
with them with utmost care and
consideration.

Unfavourable Learning Conditions
Overcrowded with more than the regular
number of students to a class.
Poor lighting facilities and inadequate
ventilation
Furniture and storage cabinets
disorderly positioned, making the
collection and retrieval of tools less
efficient.
Inappropriate seating arrangement.
Near sources of noise which
obstruct understanding the lesson.
Teachers Poor Management Skills
The teachers ability to meet discipline-
challenging situations can spell the
difference between a good and
distressed classroom control.
It depends on teachers:
Knowledge and skill in employing a wide
range of classroom strategies and procedure.
Personal and emotional attributes.
Students’ Varied Background
The students bring to the
classroom a surorising record of
individual attitudes, interest, and
abilities.
Students characteristic can be traced from
their differences in:
Family background
Physical and mental capacities
Emotional traits among others.
Employ more group oriented
methodologies: (Cooperative learning
approach, team learning, peer tutoring,
and group projects and collection).
Use varied teaching techniques
Develop patience, compassion,
genuine respect and care for your
students.
