● To announce their debut on Snapchat, McDonald’s
Canada allowed for followers to doodle on a given
picture using Snapchat’s crayon features
● Each day there was a new picture to colour over the
course of a few days and the best ones would be
featured on their Snapchat account

● Fun, creative way to create user engagement with
brand
● Innovative way to use Snapchat features in a
campaign (beyond the traditional filter)
12. Coca-Cola Selfie Bottle

● During the Coca-Cola Summer of Love festival
exclusive to Israel Coca-Cola launched a bottle that
automatically takes a selfie while you’re drinking it
● Once the selfie is taken it is automatically uploaded to
the individuals snapchat account as well as
Coca-Cola’s Instagram and Facebook account

● Perfect campaign for their millennial target market;
utilizing what they love: taking selfies and posting
them on social media

● Now Instagram allows you to live broadcast your
videos to your followers in real-time but they can
only watch while you are still streaming
● Instagram Live also allows you to share only a
video with just a few close friends where they can
watch it twice before it disappears
● With live videos you can see who is watching and
view comments and “likes” in real-time

● Another way to compete with similar platforms by
combining features of Snapchat, Facebook live and
Facebook messenger
18. Salvation Army :
“Poverty isn’t Always Easy to See”

● For their 2016 Holiday ad and to encourage those to give
donations, the Salvation Army in Canada showcased poverty
using Facebook’s 360 feature
● At first glance it looks like a normal family, but using facebook
360 feature you can see their small home and conditions in
which they live
● The photos used for Facebook were the result of print ads
that show the entire picture
WHAT WE THINK
● Well chosen medium to portray the reality of the families they
support
● Good way to create more interacting and engaging content
● Great way to target millennial audience for donations by
placing ads on social media and not only print

● The Morton Salt girl is the inspiration behind the campaign
as she stands for drive, passion and has an unstoppable
spirit. The tagline for their campaign is Morton Salt does
not just want to walk the walk they want to walk her walk
and make a positive impact on the world
● To kick off their “Walk Her Walk” campaign Morton Salt:
○ Teamed up with influential rock band Ok Go for their
latest music video entitled “The One Moment” which
shows every moment has an impact
○ Launched a new website featuring their new
positioning
○ Partnered with #GivingTuesday which occurs on
November 29, 2016 and is a global day for those to
give back to communities, non-profits, schools and
the arts
