Digital Transformation means a cultural shift for every organization. New (digital) tools might force them into new values - but will this work? What does this mean for management and leadership?

Panel presentation at 2013 APA National Convention, August 2013. The experiential and structural shifts in communication technologies introduced by the Internet age that have created a continuum of activity from consumption to production. Just as we’re trying to make sense out of the proliferation of media technologies, we have to ask the question: how do we see the role of media literacy? How we answer that will drive how we define and implement media literacy education.

Isolation is a leading symptom of depression. Our world is full of systems to keep us focused on different tasks and different times; we are becoming virtually isolated and hence more depressed.
This multi-system isolation is leading to a new form of loneliness and emerging forms of anxiety and extreme group think in our cultural narrative.
User interface and experience should enable people to feel fully unburdened from a fear of suffering.
From wearables, to on demand services, everything is designed to promote distraction from pain.

MTM - 2021 Seminar - Bright Side of Technology - Feb 2021SamuelWarner9
With lockdown shaping much of our experience in 2020 - and having a continued impact into 2021, the role of digital tools and platforms has never been more prominent. As a result, our relationship with technology - how we use it, and how we feel about it (or perhaps more importantly, how it makes us feel) is undergoing a transformation. The same digital platforms and devices we have told ourselves to detox from have become the only means of keeping in touch with others, providing us with endless entertainment and offering us community.
As we kick into 2021, we ask how brands can adapt to these changes, reaching out to displaced, remote consumers and meeting their expectation of a more positive role of tech.

Media Literacy Education in a Global SocietyRenee Hobbs
What We’re Learning and What We Still Need to Know
By Renee Hobbs
Media literacy education has greatly increased in visibility as increasing political polarization continues to threaten democratic societies. Around the world, tech companies invest in media literacy education, hoping that it will stave off regulation of their digital platforms. Journalists and politicians hope media literacy education will increase the public’s appetite for quality journalism to improve civic education. Parents expect that media literacy will help protect their children against the harms and risks of growing up with social media. And educators at all levels are beginning to recognize that the 4 C’s of media literacy (critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills) are increasingly central to an emerging conceptualization of a “new liberal arts” education. Which of these themes and areas of emphasis are privileged as media literacy education is implemented around the world? What are the most urgent needs still to be addressed? How can the many stakeholders for media literacy better coordinate their efforts to accelerate implementation?

involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
