The document provides information about different animals organized into several sections:
1. Mammals such as dogs, rabbits, chimpanzees, and kangaroos. Key facts about mammals include that they have hair/fur and are warm-blooded.
2. Reptiles such as alligators and cobras. Reptiles are covered in scales and are cold-blooded.
3. Amphibians such as frogs. Amphibians have wet skin and most live in or near water.
4. Insects such as ants and butterflies. Insects have six legs or variations and many have wings.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Acetabularia Information For Class 9 .docxvaibhavrinwa19
Acetabularia acetabulum is a single-celled green alga that in its vegetative state is morphologically differentiated into a basal rhizoid and an axially elongated stalk, which bears whorls of branching hairs. The single diploid nucleus resides in the rhizoid.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

Scorpion Caterpillar
9. The dog is often called “
man‟s best friend.” That‟s
because dogs are easy to
train and make loyal
companions.
Baby dogs are called
puppies. Did you know
that puppies cannot see
or hear for the first two
weeks of life? In fact,
they can detect sounds
that are four times
further away than human
are able to hear.
10. Baby rabbits are called kits. A
rabbit‟s long ears can turn in
any direction to help it even
the faintest sound. Rabbit will
thump their hind legs to let
other rabbits know when they
sense danger.
Rabbits usually live in
groups in underground
burrows. They eat grass,
bark, leaves, and berries.
11. Chimpanzees show their
feelings very much the way
humans do. They
hug, kiss, smile, and even
hold on to each other
when sad or scared. They
have very long arms, which
they use to swing.
Unlike most animals,
chimpanzees are able to
make and use tools. They
use rocks to crack open
nuts, and use sticks to
smash fruit and dig for ants.
Chimpanzees teach their
young how to use tools for
gathering food.
12. Kangaroos are marsupials,
which are mammals that
carry their babies in
pouches outside their
stomachs. Baby kangaroo
are called joeys. Joeys will
grow in its mother‟s pouch
for almost a year.
13. Giraffes are the tallest
animals in the world. They
use their long necks to
reach leaves in the highest
branches of trees. When
baby giraffes are born,
they are already taller than
many grown-up human!
Since it‟s very hard for
them to bend over and lay
down on the ground,
giraffes can sleep standing
up. A giraffe lays down to
sleep for less than two
hours a day.
14. Owls are birds that sleep during
the day and hunt for food at
night. Their very large eyes
allow them to take in more light
and see better in the dark. Owls
can see up to 100 times better
than people.
Baby owls are called owlets.
Owls have excellent hearing.
The owls ears are hidden
under its feathers. If they hear
a noise coming from behind
them, owls can turn their
heads almost all the way
around and even upside down
to look back.
15. The Ostrich is the largest bird
in the world. Although it
cannot fly, the ostrich can run
about forty miles per hours
and it is faster than other bird!
One ostrich egg is about the
size of twenty-four chicken
eggs! Ostrich chicks are already
twelve inches tall when they
are born.
If the ostrich feels threatened,
it kicks. Ostriches use their
strong and powerful kick to
protect themselves against
animals like lions.
16. Lions are members of the
cat family. They live on the
savanna together in groups
of fifteen to forty lions.
These group are called
prides. Female lions called
lionesses.
A lion‟s roar can be heard
up to five miles away! Most
lions don‟t start roaring
until they are about two
years old.
17. Alligators are reptiles that live
in swamps, marshes, rivers
and lakes. Alligators have
bumpy, scaly skin, four
webbed feet, and long tails.
When searching for food, the
alligator swims with just its
eyes and nostrils above the
water.
Although they have about

snouts, alligators swallow it
whole. Alligators lay forty to
fifty eggs at a time in nest
made of mud, leaves, and

Some ants can carry objects
that are twenty times their
size! Ants live in underground
nests in big groups called
colonies. Their nests have long
tunnels and several „rooms‟.
Ants use their antennae or
feelers, to communicate with
each other. When two ants
touch feelers, they are usually
telling each other where to
find food.

and strong jaws that help
it eat leaves. It eats and
grows until it become
pupa. Then it stays
inside the pupa as it
grows into butterfly.

caterpillars have sixteen
legs and spend most of
its time eating leaves and
flowers. As it eats,
caterpillar gets bigger
and bigger.
23. Butterflies do not have
mouths to bite into
food. Instead, they drink
flower nectar through a
tube called proboscis,
which looks like a long
and black tongue.
Butterflies smell with
their antennae and
breathe through tiny
holes along the sides of
their bodies. They also
use their feet to taste
food. Butterflies have
special sensors on their
feet that let them “taste”
the flower or fruit they
are standing on!
