This document describes how an organization called Follow the Money conducts investment chain mapping to help local advocates understand the financial backers behind controversial projects. They receive requests from communities, map the chain of investors, identify pressure points, and work with advocates to engage actors in the chain and pursue new advocacy opportunities. The document provides an example of their mapping of the Don Sahong Hydropower Project's investment chain and concludes that while not a silver bullet, this process can open up targeted advocacy opportunities to work towards justice for affected communities.

national partners, later via Follow the Money

pressure point analysis.

form and language that they can understand and
we discuss options for engaging identified
pressure points.
• FTM partners work with communities to help them
understand the findings and in some cases
support them to engage actors along the
investment chain and pursue new advocacy
opportunities.
