The document outlines Ngee Ann Secondary School's vision, mission, and use of ICT and virtual environments like Second Life to develop students. It discusses connecting with 21st century digital native students, developing their five minds for the future through innovative ICT use, and the school's phase 1 island development in Second Life for deeper art learning experiences using thinking routines from Project Zero at Harvard. The initiative has received positive local press coverage.
It is recognised that the standard of teaching ICT has improved significantly in recent years. However, high quality ICT teaching is far from universal. This session will explore, from several perspectives, what is meant by ‘good practice.’
We also explore some ideas for incorporating ICT in art and design, and you engage in a practical task on the theme of self portraits.
You reflect on this work with your partner, uploading a recording of your discussion to your site.
We conclude with a discussion of interactive whiteboard practice in schools.
IN-SESSION TASK 2
• Create a self portrait using ICT tools – your tutor will model one or more approaches to this task, but you are welcome to work independently using ideas of your own
• Upload your finished portrait to your Google site.
• Record a brief conversation with your partner about this task and upload this to your site.
TO FOLLOW UP
• Read Higgins et al (2007), whilst reflecting on your own or your class teacher’s use of the interactive whiteboard.
• You may wish to practice your own IWB skills over lunchtime using one of the Lulham ICT Centre boards, or IWBs available for student use in the Library.
• Watch Jen Deyenberg’s online presentation on geocaching, http://www.trailsoptional.com/2010/10/k-12-online-conference-presentation-gps-and-geocaching-k12online10/
This presentation was developed and presented in 2009 in support of $1 million dollar grant request that our client won from major energy company. Purpose of grant is to improve human capital development for future jobs in support of high-poverty school district.
RPS has Best-in-the Market capability to design, develop, implement and deploy large scale training nationwide, worldwide and in over 60+ languages on multiple mobile platforms.

First “Basic Computer Literacy – Part 1” training session for teachers.Conducted in GPS Matta Nilishang, Battagram, Pakistan from April 03, 2012 to April 05, 2012 by MIED in partnership with PPAF
This presentation gives an introduction of what e-learning is, what the levels of e-learning exist these days, types of e-learning and some tips and tricks of e-learning development.
Discover the International Award Winning interactive multimedia learning tool. ELSY means Easy Learning System and includes an easy to use authoring tool. Absolutely no programmer\\\'s knowledge necessary.
National Goal 2 - Capacity To Improve Student OutcomesCORE Education
A presentation looking at National Goal 2 using points from the self-review rubric as well as survey responses from the ICT PD Annual Survey 09. Discussion questions are included.
As a school leader or head of subject you are required to analyse attainment data relating to whole cohorts of learners. From this analysis you need to produce timely interventions and measurable initiatives to improve the very performance you are monitoring. This requires data analysis - something that most teachers and leaders either find daunting or only address in a superficial manner. Covering chapters on Data Analysis, Problems With The Mean, Comparative Statistics, Analysis Of Variance and the incredibly powerful General Linear Model (GLM) - this is a text book for real teachers faced with real issues in real classrooms.

Character Development, for students, by students!mediaplaylab
Cyberwellness has always been a ministry initiative, but in recent years has increasingly gained importance nation-wide as the evolving Internet and media landscapes bring about various issues with it.
Innova JC’s JC1 Cyberwellness Civics Lesson was done in collaboration with Media Development Authority (MDA), to bring about character development to IJC students.
All JC1 New Media Arts CCA students (known as NMA Cyberwellness Ambassadors) researched on cyberwellness topics that interest and benefit them as youths (social networking and gaming addiction). The students then collated materials (videos, case studies) to be used in the lessons.
They then leveraged on the weekly Civics Programme to extend its reach to the entire JC1 cohort of students. This programme is also part of Innova New Media Education Programme where students equip Innovians with the skills to be safe and responsible users of the Internet.
Want to know more about social networking and gaming addiction? Read Up! on the pertinent issues now!
Innova Junior College's General Paper educator, Ms Serene Tan and Ms Lee Rui Jun presented at the 2012 Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education Conference on Second Life on the topic 'Teaching Prejudice and Discrimination Using Second Life'.
Conference Abstract: Welcome to Maletopia, a Second Life build that seeks to facilitate students’ exploration of ideas in prejudice and discrimination, one of the topics in the General Paper (GP) curriculum. The presentation will cover the rationale, objectives and design of the lessons revolving around Maletopia, which will be implemented in April 2012, by the GP Unit from Innova Junior College (Singapore, Grades 11-12). Through adopting the identities of their avatars, it is envisaged that Maletopia provides a stimulating environment for students to ‘leave behind’ their actual identities and engage in fruitful dialogues for enhanced understanding of prejudice and discrimination issues.
