The text, There Will Come Soft Rains by Ray Bradbury tells the story of a robotically controlled
house left standing in a post apocalyptic world. Every day, life continues as normal for the house

This story made me think about how, even though you may not be there, time still passes on and
does not stop for anybody. Throughout the text, it continues to refer to the time of day it is, and
elaborates on how the day is progressing, like one of the first lines, Tick tock, seven o clock, time
to get up, time to get up, seven o clock! Everything, apart from the fact there is nobody around,
seems completely normal, and a routine is still kept in place. The house continues on as if what
s going on is completely normal, as it knows no different from what it has been programmed to
do. The writer makes me think about how we need to make the most of our time on our Earth. We
never know when our last day will be, and our lives are honestly quite fleeting. I personally know
that I don t like or enjoy coming out of the routine I have set for myself on a day to day basis,

tells us of Illúvatar, Eä, the Valar and the birth of Elves, Dwarves and Men. But, you know, I
don t think it has anything at all to do with Elves, Dwarves, Men and some god named IllГєvatar. I
think Tolkien really wanted to write a Biblical allegory and a critique on ridiculous human nature

that this novel is a Biblical allegory completely undermines what the author had in mind when he

On August 6, 1945, at 8:15 am America released an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima in
Japan, (Hersey 1). This action was done to put an end to World War II, and bring the soldiers of
America back home. For many Americans, the dropping of the bomb meant nothing but to do
what had to be done.The end results were not taken into account because there was no way to
know what could happen when using new technology, (Okazaki). The results of the atomic
bomb alone had a casualty rate of about 135,000 people, of that 66,000 died and 69,000 were
injured, (The Atomic Bombings). Prior to the atomic bomb, Japan had already lost their a
majority of their defense, only had their navy left and was nearly destroyed. From data, we were
able to find out an equivalent to that bomb had more power than two thousands tons of TNT,
(Hersey 49). The excessive amount of power did not help to solve anything, it only created a

This action was done to put an end to World War II, and bring the soldiers of America back home. For many Americans, the dropping of the bomb meant nothing but to do what had to be done.The end results were not taken into account because there was no way to know what could happen when using new technology, (Okazaki). The results of the atomic bomb alone had a casualty rate of about 135,000 people, of that 66,000 died and 69,000 were injured, (The Atomic Bombings). Prior to the atomic bomb, Japan had already lost their a majority of their defense, only had their navy left and was nearly destroyed. From data, we were able to find out an equivalent to that bomb had more power than two thousands tons of TNT, (Hersey 49). The excessive amount of power did not help to solve anything, it only created a race for nuclear power, (The Cold War).
