Excellence and quality improves standards and increases efficiency. While widely understood with regular activities, this is less the case with Lifelong Learning activities in HE institutions. While competition among HE offers' increases, the difference will be on the how, not only on the what. How can quality be developed and how institutions can implement a continuous improvement approach in an effective and sustainable way? Can a single tool or model meet such a range of needs? Is possible to use tools to survive institutional regressions? The UNIQM project addressed answers to all these questions.

Low-Code App Development for Personalized Learning Experiences.pdfAshutosh Kalbande
ow-code app development is an innovative approach that allows users to build applications with minimal
coding knowledge. It provides a visual development environment where developers can drag-and-drop prebuilt components, connect them through a user-friendly interface, and configure logic and behavior using a
visual editor. Low-code platforms abstract away much of the complexity, enabling rapid application
development while reducing the reliance on traditional coding techniques.
In this blog, we will explore the growing popularity of mobile apps in education and discuss the benefits they offer to learners. Additionally, we will delve into the technology trends that are shaping the education sector and driving the elearning app development.

IN THIS SUMMARY
In The Mobile Learning Edge, author Gary Woodill defines mobile learning as a personalized form of learning that takes place on a mobile electronic device. It allows for speedy communication, it is portable and convenient, it creates active learning experiences, and it allows for learning connectivity at any time and in any location. The content taught in mobile learning is also more likely to be retained because it is learned when the student wants to learn; because the student is actively seeking to learn, the information taught is more likely to be relevant and useful to the learner.

A conceptual framework for measuring the usability characteristics of mobile learning (m-Learning) application has been developed. Furthermore, a software prototype for smartphones to assess usability issues of m-Learning applications has also been designed and implemented. This prototype has been developed, using Java language and the Android Software Development Kit, based on the recommended guidelines of the proposed conceptual framework. The usability of the proposed model was compared to a generally available similar mobile application (based on the Blackboard) by conducting a questionnairebased survey at Western University. The two models were evaluated in terms of ease of use, user
satisfaction, attractiveness, and learnability. The results of the questionnaire showed that the participants considered the user interface based on our proposed framework more user-friendly as compared to the Blackboard-based user interface.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Editor's Notes
3.1. Project Organization
These kind of projects are organized around work packages (hereafter WP) where each partner has its role. In the case of the
AppSkil project, we will focus on WP3, WP4 and WP5 because they are the most influencing ones in the development of the new
training course. However, an overview of all the WP should be as follows
• WP1 assures the efficient and timely execution of the other WPs activities through continuous monitoring,
project meetings, quarterly reports, progress assessment and remedial actions.
• WP2 extends throughout the duration of the project, focusing on quality assurance of the project’s processes
and results.
• WP3 entails the identification of skill mismatch to be defined drawing first on EU Skills Panorama and
analysing then the mobile app creation process. The skills mismatch will be validated by sector representatives.
• WP4 focuses on definition of the learning outcomes, the curriculum design and the development of training
content. Open educational resources will be created to deliver the training and training pilots will be organised
to receive feedback and integrate it into the curriculum.
• WP5 includes the organization of the “train-the-trainer” seminar and the delivery of the VET program with the
aim to close the sector skills mismatch identified in WP3.
• WP6 focuses on the implementation of the dissemination and exploitation strategy. It includes the preparation of dissemination materials and the organisation of dissemination activities that will raise awareness about the AppSkil’s results. Exploitation actions entail potential user groups mapping for project and post-project operation, a MoU and a roadmap to integrate the VET programme into EU qualifications standards, as well as a MoC and an action plan to establish a EU ICT Skills Council.
• WP7 is about the evaluation of learning outcomes, expected impact and results, including internal and independent external impact assessments.
3.3. Learning contents
Fort developing the learning contents we have taken as an input the curriculum structure designed on the previous stage. Learning
contents will be developed within this task. The learning outcomes are by classified and grouped thematically into autonomous modules and units. The four key themes are:
1. Development of the App
2. Marketing Channels
3. Project Management
4. Business Management
These contents, just as with the two previous tasks, are subject to the continuous feedback from all partners in the consortium.
Elaborated contents will be integrated into a MOOC.
Almost 100 companies from Belgium, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom in the field of mobile apps development
participated in the survey carried out to determine which knowledge, skills and attitudes are required in those persons who
would like to professionally develop in mobile apps design and development. Final market of surveyed companies is distributed
as follows: 46% are B2C companies, 45% are B2B companies and the remaining 9% are companies working both in B2B and B2C. Almost 100 companies from Belgium, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom in the field of mobile apps development participated in the survey carried out to determine which knowledge, skills and attitudes are required in those persons who would like to professionally develop in mobile apps design and development. Final market of surveyed companies is distributed as follows: 46% are B2C companies, 45% are B2B companies and the remaining 9% are companies working both in B2B and B2C.
CONCLUSIONS
Even though AppSkil project is in the middle of its development, some conclusions can be highlighted at this stage.
The organization of the Project in work packages is an effective and efficient procedure enhancing the communications among the partners.
The design of a 60 hours training course, in MOOC format, taking into account ESCO, EQF, NQF regulations, adjusted to quality patterns allowing its transferability to all European Union countries is a future-oriented product and serves as experience for other courses development with similar characteristics.
