18. 4. Policy Content and Guidelines
4.1 General
a) Through this policy MWECAU will be committed in
providing a safe and healthy environment for staff,
students, and visitors. This is articulated further in the
Student Experience Strategy, Health and Safety Framework
and Healthy Campus Framework.
b) Health and safety is a shared responsibility.
MWECAU will expect every member of this community to
take personal responsibility for promoting the health and
safety of themselves and those involved in, or affected by
the University’s activities.

coordinating the University’s health and safety

Safety
a) The Vice-Chancellor
has overall responsibility for the effective management
of health and safety, and requires every supervisor and
manager with staff responsibility to implement this
policy.
b) Campus Services
Manages the coordination of health and safety advice,
plans, training, reporting and administrative support
through the Health and Safety Framework. This
Framework is comprehensive and includes:

and safety or that of others.

30. UNIVERSITY’S RULES FOR
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE HEALTH
AND SAFETY POLICY
According to this policy, the University should
implement the following rules for Health and Safety
policy in MWECAU community;

All members of the university (staff and students)
shall comply with the requirements of health and
safety signage.
1.2 Accidents
All accidents must be reported. The accident report
form should be made available on the Safety Services.
