Mobile Recharge Project - Phase I & II, 2008-2010
This product, branded TopUp&Go, allows users to top-up their prepaid phones through SMS
using their handsets. In addition to managing the implementation of this service I was
responsible for all aspects of its launch, including marketing. Some of the marketing activities I
completed were:
Developing the marketing strategy
Developed the logo and branded all relevant materials
Advertising: writing copy for print and radio ads, directing radio and television ads, creating
content for brochures, flyers and other printed materials and directing their production.
Market research: conducting focus groups to test the visual impact of the logo on its target
audience
TopUp&Go Management, 2010-2015
Strategic and tactical marketing planning: developing and executing plans, including
budgets, on an annual and as required basis
Conducting market research annually in order to facilitate marketing planning
Conducted research to assess the viability and profitability of expanding the product reach
through CarIFS and presented these results to the CarIFS Board of Directors

I am currently creating a mobile application which will allow the execution of the mobile
recharge a one step process - at present, users are required to send a text message with a
specific command string to a preset short code. My objective is to have a mobile application
which will only require the user to enter the dollar amount of the top-up and everything
else will be executed on the back-end, making the process easier to use with less to
remember.
Event Director - Barbados Collaborative Conference 2008 - September 2007 – August 2008
This comprised 8 days of activities in addition to the 2-day conference. The other activities
included a cricket match, cruise, masquerade ball, a social showcase of local talent, a cocktail
reception at Illaro Court and 2-day trade show. I worked closely with the Conference Director to
ensure that this was a premier event, superior to those which preceded it. In order to achieve

this, I introduced some of the events mentioned and produced an 80-page conference journal
that advertisers loved. I was also responsible for obtaining sponsorship and exceeded their
target by 200%.
This conference was a very significant opportunity for many businesses and government
departments in Barbados as it brought a captive audience of Barbadians living in the USA,
Canada and the UK to the Island. In addition to planning the events, producing the journal and
recruiting over 10 major sponsors, I also addressed the press and liaised with public and private
sector institutions and organisations on behalf of the conference director and managed all
aspects of PR and marketing. Some of the activities included:
Developing a PR campaign and marketing plan
Developing a strategy to attract sponsorship
Filling the role of editor and writer for most of the conference journal
Writing press releases
Designing the logo for the conference
Designing the cover for the journal
Branding all materials for the conference
