This document introduces design thinking as a human-centered approach to innovation that can be applied to adoption challenges. It discusses key elements of design thinking like being human-centered, creative, iterative and collaborative. Several design thinking tools and methods are presented such as personas, journey mapping, prototyping and testing. The document argues that design thinking focuses on understanding user needs through techniques like ethnography and can help turn reluctant users into advocates for new initiatives through an approach that involves users in developing solutions.

Speed Design Studio is a variant of Will Evan’s Design Studio Process and was designed collaboratively by Jabe Bloom and Will Evan’s at TLCLabs
Speed Design Studio was modified from the original based on insights from Cognitive Edge methods and is focused on extremely rapid iterations in an attempt to emerge team level understandings of design problems and solution language.
Due to efforts applied to tighten cycle times, Speed Design Studio can be taught in a 1-2 hr workshop.
This PPT is very much useful for practitioners who are all making products and services to society. Mangers think innovatively and come up with innovative ideas. It is a 5 stage processing also called a design thinking process. The stages are empathize, define, ideate, prototype and test.

• Gather a diverse group of people
• A Scribe pre group – record all questions
• Establish a brief goal statement with any underlying assumptions

Yammer can store files, what do I do about that?
Human-centered – Starts with empathy and understanding people (the users) through direct observation and research. Creative and Playful –Reframes the problem and looks at it from different perspectives; considers many solutions.Prototype-Driven - Relies on tangible representations of potential solutions to get early user feedback.
Iterative – Refines the problem definition and potential solutions based on feedback and testing; learns from early failures. Collaborative – Involves all disciplines throughout the process.
The purpose of personas is to create reliable and realistic representations of your key audience segments for reference. These representations should be based on qualitative and some quantitative user research and web analytics. Remember, your personas are only as good as the research behind them. Effective personas:
Represent a major user group for your business
Express and focus on the major needs and expectations of the most important users
Give a clear picture of the user’s expectations and how they’re likely to interact with your business
Aid in uncovering universal features and functionality
Describe real people with backgrounds, goals, and values
