Desertification is the process of desert expansion caused by climate change and human activities like deforestation and inadequate farming methods. It leads to a reduction in agricultural land and increases soil erosion, salinity, dust storms and carbon dioxide emissions while destroying ecosystems. Countries try to reduce desertification through practices like prohibiting deforestation, afforestation, irrigation, and planting vegetation.

It is a process of desert expansion. In total, deserts consume almost 6 million
hectares of land per year. Developing countries are most affected by
desertification, but industrialized countries are also at risk.

 There can be many reasons for desertification - they are undoubtedly influenced
by: climate change (warming), as well as human activities that are carried out in an
uncontrolled and reflective manner. Inadequate farming and deforestation
(removal of trees) have the greatest impact on the intensity of desertification,
which quickly leads to soil sterilization - turning it into a desert.
