Tragic Death Of Romeo And Juliet
The play, Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare is a tragic love story set in the olden days about
two teenagers from different feuding families falling in love ultimately resulting in both of their
deaths. The story contains lots of supporting characters that contribute to causing the death of Romeo
and Juliet. One character that has a big impact on their deaths is Friar Laurence. Friar Laurence is a
friend to both Romeo and Juliet along with being a priest that marries many of the townspeople. Friar
Laurence s caring personality, gracious motives, and foolish actions lead to Romeo and Juliet s tragic
death. Throughout the play, Friar Laurence demonstrates a caring and friendly personality to Romeo
and Juliet. In act 3 scene 3 Romeo goes to Friar Laurence and tells him how distraught he is about not
being able ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The friar supports Romeo and Juliet being together because he hopes that it will bring the two families
together, The Capulets, and Montagues, and end their generations long feud. In act 2 scene 4 the Friar
says, In one respect I ll thy assistant be; For this alliance may so happy prove, To turn your households
rancor to pure love. (Act 2, Scene 4, Lines 90 93). This shows that he not only wants Romeo and
Juliet to be happy but he wants to create peace by bringing the two households together. This shows
strong optimism because the two families have been feuding for generations and the solution to this
seems more complicated than two of the family members dating, this seems like it would create more
problems, which it later does in the story, but The Friar keeps his optimism that this will end the
fueding of the families. This does not go as The Friar believes it will, it actually goes tragically wrong,
resulting in causing the tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet. This shows that even though The Friar
keeps optimistic views it still results in the tragic deaths of Romeo and

The Presidential Debate At Longwood University Essay
The Vice Presidential debate, held at Longwood University on October 4th, was between the
Democratic candidate, U.S. Senator Tim Kaine, and Republican candidate, Indiana Governor Mike
Pence. Specific issues were asked about by the moderator, Elaine Quijano, such as specific qualities of
the candidates that would make them good leaders if tragedy were to occur. However, the candidates
used much of their allotted time to target the opposing presidential candidate and would then interrupt
their opponent multiple times throughout their answer. Comparing the citizenship qualification of the
United States to Germany may be helpful in solving the current immigration problems facing our
country. The Vice Presidential debate showed the differences in opinion on immigration; the
Republican campaign looks to build on the current enforcement only policies and the Democratic
campaign seeks to secure the country while attempting to help immigrants and their families.
The Republican candidate, Donald Trump, has shown an openly negative opinion of immigration,
specifically of Muslims and Mexicans. The common remark people remember is Trump s promise to
build a massive border wall, which would be devastating to the economy. Mike Pence focused his
reply to the question of immigration on the safety of American citizens being the top priority. He also
stated that their party would suspend the Syrian refugee program because it is too complicated to
know if a person is associated with the Islamic

Brady Mac s Tumors Research Paper
Have you ever experienced losing the one you love? Do you remember what it feels like? It almost
feels like you are empty, that a part of yourself is missing. Whether it is your marriage or short term
partner, a breakup isn t easy, but is it for the best? Well imagine being in a band with the person does
the band break up... or do you work it out and create something magical? Some say it s better to have
loved and lost than to never have loved at all, and in Fleetwood Mac s case that is defiantly the
reasoning behind their album Rumours. Millions of people were able to relate to Fleetwood Mac s
Rumors due to the way they were able to make a private matter public. This disquisition will explain
why Fleetwood Mac s Rumours is considered a classic album; What exactly has to be taken into
consideration for an album to be considered a classic? A classic album should include stupendous
artistry, sharp production work, iconic packaging, critical acclaim, and even the albums commercial
success. In the late 1970 s all of the members of Fleetwood Mac s relationships happened to be falling
apart at the same time. Singer song writer, Stevie Nicks, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

drama going on between the members; however, despite all of the drama, in the summer of 1976 the
band went on tour for their previous album Fleetwood Mac, putting Rumours on hold. The band was
inspired to get their story out there, No one expected Rumours to be such a hit. During production the

Leadership in 12 Angry Men
In the film 12 Angry Men, a group of twelve jurors are deciding the fate of a young boy accused of
murdering his father. Throughout the juries dilleration, one man exhibits all of the qualities of
leadership. This man is juror number 8 played by Henry Fonda. Fonda not only exhibits the the 10
qualities of a leader but he uses these qualities to lead the entire jury to a vote of not guilty (Fonda
Lumet, 1957).
Early on in the film Fonda shows the first quality of leadership vision. Vision can be defined as the
leaders ability to know what is needed and how what is needed can be achieved (book). In the case of
12 Angry Men, Henry Fonda has a vision that he and the other jurors have the responsibility to
consider the facts in the case ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For Fonda the entire film is him doing just that. Being that Fonda what the only one at the beginning
to vote not guilty, he used his enthusiasm to bring the rest of the jurors over to his way of think. A
good example of this is how he convinced juror number 9 (the old man) that there could be doubt in
the witness that was an older gentleman like he was. By showing juror 9 that there were flaws in the
evidence and the witnesses he was able to gain another follower. His enthusiasm for getting the ruling
right is what drove him to be able to make this happen time and time again with every juror (Fonda
Lumet, 1957).
Next we are introduced to Fonda s leadership quality of Stability. Stability is the quality of a leader to
discern emotions from fact and keep personal beliefs separate from the task at hand (book). In the film
we see this when Fonda discerns that racism of another juror is not acceptable. He says to juror 6 that
it s always difficult to keep personal prejudice out of a thing like this (Fonda Lumet, 1957). In this
statement he is showing his own abilities to discern what prejudice is and how he is trying to keep it
from influencing his decisions.
The fifth quality of leadership expressed by Fonda in the film was that of Concern for Others. In this
quality of leadership the leader values those they lead as fellow human beings and not just as those
that are there to serve (book). The whole premise behind the film directly

Ernest Hemingway Big Two-Hearted River Analysis
Ernest Hemingway s Big Two Hearted River uses language to explore Nick s carefree attitude. Nick s
actions, speech, and thoughts validate this claim. Hemingway uses diction when Nick makes camp to
show his carefree attitude: There were plenty of good places to camp on the river. But this was good
(Hemingway 5). This shows Nick barely cares when choosing his campsite location. Although there
were other campsites available, this was good (Hemingway 5). In fact, Nick s and the grasshoppers
dialogue paint Nick s carefree attitude. He says, Go on, hopper. Fly away somewhere (Hemingway 3),
seeking to give the grasshopper the carefree life he desires. The protagonist expresses his desire to live
life without worry, to remove the soot

Abraham Lincoln Childhood
Born in Bardstown, Kentucky, Abraham Lincoln taught himself how to be strong, stand for what he
believed and wanted to make a difference. To most he was a hero for his victory in the US Civil War.
Lincoln proved to be a strong military leader. He strategized and paved the way for slaves to be a part
of history. At the young age of two, Abraham Lincoln was unaware he was getting accustomed to a
lifestyle, that would later impact his career. Abraham Lincoln came from a very normal background.
He spent most of his younger years close to nature. He favorited hunting, fishing, cropping, and his
various boyhood escapes. The Lincolns spent most of their time, moving across the west in areas
surrounding slavery. Though Lincoln was most recognized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Lincoln used his background as an outlet when making most of his decisions. During two occasions,
he addressed his respect for Kentucky and its citizens, but needed them to stand behind his vision. In
Sept of 1859, he addressed how he believed slavery was wrong and wish for it not to spread . In 1860,
Lincoln wanted to succeed Pennsylvania. In Feb of 1861, he had the same speech. Many people were
concerned about what Lincoln could actually do. They did not forget that Lincoln had little to no
experience with law. He only had up to eighteen months of formal schooling. Despite these facts,
Lincoln was regarded as Candidate of pride, wealth and aristocratic family distinction . Better than
most union leaders he appreciated conditions in the south... and the advantages of being able to call on
the old southern leaders. He was very generous and considerate. Lincoln was for the North but he was
also connected to the South fundamentally and emotionally. In 1864, a northern delegation conferred
with him concerning escaped slaves coming within union lines. Lincoln was once again facing issues
he did not see coming his way. From left to right, people were expecting him to back up his word. He
had to prove to them he could get the job done, regardless of the obstacles he may

Cruelty In Joseph Conrad s Heart Of Darkness
Cruelty in Heart of Darkness In Joseph Conrad s novel, Heart of Darkness, many motifs were
mentioned in the story. Savagery, meaning an act of cruelty, was one of the most important motifs that
were exemplified multiple times throughout the novel. As Marlow, the main character of the story,
traveled along the Congo River to find Kurtz, he encountered many forms of savagery. In the
beginning of the novel while Marlow was taking a break on the Nellie with other crew members, he
described how the Romans felt when they were in his position on the river. Marlow described the
Belgian Congo as, Land in a swamp, march through the woods, and in some inland post feel the
savagery, the utter savagery, had closed round him all that mysterious life of ... Show more content on

He used savagery to describe how people were during the time. People were extremely deceiving and
selfish. They treated others inhumanly, without any care or sympathy. African natives were called
savages in Conrad s point of view, but he does not see how the Europeans were actually the true
savages. Europeans treated the native inhabitants like they were nothing important. Native Africans
lived in those swamps, forests and jungles along the Congo River. They were the ones who were
thought as wild men. Whenever someone traveled through those areas, they would feel the savagery
coming from the natives even though they were just trying to protect themselves from more harm.
Conrad uses Marlow s visit to the Company s Offices to describe how different native Africans were
treated compared to the Europeans. Marlow was appalled with the conditions around the Company
offices. Marlow described the company s accountant wearing such nice clothes while the savages were
dying slowly, working hard though malnourished. Another example Conrad portrays savagery in the
novel but does not regard it as savagery was when Kurtz has that insatiable greed for ivory. Kurtz did
whatever he can to steal from the natives, destroying their property and making living conditions

Family Centered Practice Model Paper
In order to provide services to children and families involved with the child welfare system, FGDM s
need to come from a family centered and a strengths based approach. When families are given the
opportunity to demonstrate their strengths and they are recognized, respected, affirmed they are more
willing to make take initiative towards change and use those strengths as their foundation. Family
focused services are focused in working with families in order to improve their level of functioning.
The entire family needs to be addressed in order to provide a safe, stable, supportive, and a permanent
environment for the child (Department of Social Services, n.d). When using the strength based
approach with individuals seeking mental health services it has been found to increase self esteem,
self efficacy, personal confidence, sense of hope and life satisfaction (Tse, et al., 2016). The purpose
of the strength perspective is to point out to children and families that are struggling with mental
health issues is to remind them of the areas they have flourished in. As social workers and mental
health practitioners we are bound to meeting the client where they are at by allowing the client to set
the pace of their treatment in a manner they can understand. This perspective ... Show more content on

needs, it tailors services to meet the needs of the families and it empowers families by allowing them

Cardiac Cycle Is The Sequence Of Events That Occurs When...
Cardiac Cycle
The cardiac cycle is the sequence of events that occurs when the heart beats.(biology.about.com).
There are two phases of the cardiac cycle. In the diastole phase, the heart ventricles are relaxed and
the heart fills with blood. In the systole phase, the ventricles contract and pump blood to the arteries. A
cardiac cycle is completed when the heart fills with blood and the blood gets pumped out of the heart.
The events of the cardiac cycle described below trace the path of the blood as it enters the heart, is
pumped to the lungs, travel back to the heart and is pumped out to the rest of the body. Note that the
events that occur in the first and second diastole phases happen at the same time. This is also true for
the events of the first and second systole phases.
Cardiac Cycle: 1st Diastole Phase
During the diastole phase, the atria and ventricles are relaxed and the atrioventricular valves are open.
De oxygenated blood from the superior and inferior vena cavae flows into the right atrium. The open
atrioventricular valves allow blood to pass through to the ventricles. The SA nodes contracts triggering
the atria to contract. The right atrium empties its contents into the right ventricle. The tricuspid valve
prevents the blood from flowing back into the right atrium. (About.com)
Cardiac Cycle: 1st Systole Phase
According to Richard E. K. (PhD., 2011) Systole represents the time during which the left and right
ventricles contract and eject blood into the aorta

Dutifully, Cone turned to scriptures as the sanction for his demands, not allowing anyone or anything
to separate him from the love of God. James H. Cone main objective was to resurrect himself and his
people from the ashes of racism by using the foundation of the Black Church [scriptures] and
confronting adversity. Dr. King tussled with the cares of life looking for solutions, concern for his

mindful of the test and misery they would face. Their work addresses the advancement for minority
people with the hope and promise to expunge racism among all people. During these historical

Sao Paulo is a megalopoly, has around 19 million inhabitants, with its mobility issues around 7 million

hardly any urban planning and very few and far apart parks. Green areas were seen and reserved to
leisure time and not a necessary part for the city the lack of contact with nature and it is evident there.
The fact is almost no one know there is urban agriculture in Sao Paulo, even with its many problems
few initiatives are dotted around the city. The difference there is, while in developed countries urban
farming is somewhat seen as a new back to nature trend, in developing countries and places like Sao

Mean Girls Is A Teen Comedy Film
Deciding what is most important in life is often a struggle, especially during high school. Mean Girls
is a teen comedy film loosely based on the self help book titled Queen Bees and Wannabes. The main
character is a high school student named Cady that just moved from Africa and has been
homeschooled her whole life. The American culture and society she is introduced to is embodied by
the Plastics, who are the most popular girls at North Shore High: Regina, Gretchen, and Karen. The
pressure put on Cady by society causes her to struggle to decide what her priorities should be. Mean
Girls criticizes the traditional notions of femininity that are expected of women, as they are not
required for them to be successful and accomplished.
Consider the scene when Cady first goes to Regina s house, closer to the beginning of the movie.
During this scene, the Plastics collectively walk up to a mirror and start stating what they dislike about
their bodies. The fact that the Plastics, who are supposed to be the most popular and attractive
characters in the film, are pointing out flaws on themselves induces feelings of superiority, because
even they aren t perfect. The superiority theory as described by Rappoport suggests that this is
humorous because feeling superior to someone, even subconsciously, causes pleasure and laughter.
Putting down the supposedly perfect characters causes the viewer to feel gratification as it may cause
a boost of their ego. This scene is also incongruous for a

Chicago, Illinois Crime Analysis
Chicago, Illinois, is one of the most dangerous cities in the world, and is one of the most dangerous

heinous crimes. The city does not know where to turn next, as their rates keep spiraling out of control.
Fatal crime in Chicago is higher than almost anywhere else in the United States, and that s what needs
to be controlled.
Chicago is one of the most dangerous cities in America and that can be supported because of its

Statistics show that murder has the lowest rate per 100,000 people and rape has the second lowest. It is
good that the most vicious crimes are at a minimum, but the number per capita needs to be
emphasized, (per 100,000). Out of the 25 different districts in Chicago, each one has its own statistics
and reports on the crimes that happen in their area. Their city wide crime stats just reinforce the high
in theft and burglary and the low in murder and sex related crimes. With reference to their rates being
a rollercoaster, between 2013 and 2017, murder crimes raised nearly 58% within those four years and
41% for rape and sex related crimes. On the other hand, theft and burglary actually went down by
27%. Even though there s more of that than anything else, it is still reducing and that is something to
acknowledge. In total, all crimes thrown together for a city wide rate is reducing by 8%. This means
that their criminal behavior is going lower in most areas, but not enough. Though people believe
statistics when they come from a valid source, it is hard to precisely measure the decrease and increase
of crimes in a city. Even the FBI sent a warning about such a thing, because they are aware that
statistics like these can impact a city heavily. The FBI aimed to simplistic and/or incomplete analyses
that often create misleading perceptions adversely affecting communities and their residents. It s
presumed that legitimate statistics

Legal Risk Case Study
Legal Risk

menure items are brought to the guest to tray service (meaning eveything is brought to the guests table
on a large, black, oval tray). However, quickly after implimentation it became apparent there was not
enough consideration given to risk regarding the tray service. Problems with the new trays include:
1: Weight The weight of the tray, tray jack, and the nitouriouly large portions of food is sevear.

Resistance From The Jewish Resistance
Jewish Resistance has been pondered for many years about what it truly was. For most historians
many believe that there was no true form of resistance from the Jewish people to stop the holocaust
while other historians argue that they did all they could in order to stop the holocaust from happening.
While I believe that both sides of this argument are true in the sense that Jewish Resistance was
widespread, but there were no connecting pieces in order to make Jewish Resistance affective enough
to stop the holocaust from occurring. In order to even begin to argue if Jewish resistance was effective
or not we have to first know what the actual meaning of resistance is. Jews had to main forms of
resistance, one was known as spiritual resistance while the other was a more common form of
resistance known as armed resistance. One is when you take up weaponry and manpower in order to
stop your oppressors, in this case the Nazis from achieving their goal of exterminating the Jewish
population as a whole. On the other hand, you have spiritual resistance which were ways of trying to
keep Jewish life normal under the Nazi Regime which were things like continuing to educate the
youth and still engaging in Jewish religious practices even though they had been made unlawful under
Nazi rule. While both of these may be considered resistance Raul Hilberg states that true resistance is
when you your efforts are a direct action to impede the goals of your opposition from succeeding. In

developments in science, such as evolution, threaten the core beliefs of religious institutions. Several

others, including me, believe that science and religion can coexist and that both miracles and new

evidence that science and religion can coexist: are science and religion comparable? What do
scientific discoveries say?
In the beginning, there was light. This light created a spark, which started the fire of science and

High Risk Family Assessment Health Promotion
High Risk Family Assessment Health Promotion
Drug and Alcohol Abuse Substance abuse can occur with legal drugs like alcohol, tobacco and
prescription medications, illegal drugs that are purchased on the street, or prescription drugs used for
reasons other than health. Alcohol is the most frequently used legal drug, and cocaine, heroin, and
marijuana are the most commonly used illegal drugs. Each drug has precise effects on body systems.
Some drugs can lead to acute and chronic problems; some even can cause death. Nurses are among the
few health care professionals who assess and care for substance abusers. As such, they should be
equipped to distinguish the symptoms of substance abuse and put into practice measures to support
and help these people (Bailes, 1998). Substance abuse involving drugs, alcohol, or both is linked with
a variety of negative social conditions, including family disturbances, monetary problems, lost output,
and failure in school, domestic violence, child abuse, and crime. Furthermore, both social attitudes and
legal answers to the use of alcohol and illicit drugs make substance abuse one of the most multifaceted
public health issues. Estimates of the total overall costs of substance abuse in the United States,
including lost productivity and health and crime related costs, exceed $600 billion annually
(Substance Abuse, 2012).
Assessment of the Family Type Substance abuse refers to a set of related conditions linked with the

A Documentary On Debris Flow
In geology, it would be known as a debris flow. Debris flows amass in stream valleys and more or less
resemble fresh concrete. They consist of water mixed with a good deal of solid material, most of
which is about sand size. Some of it is Chevrolet size. Boulders bigger than cars ride very long
distances in debris flows. Boulders grouped like fish eggs pour quickly downhill in debris flows. The
dark material coming toward the Genofiles was not only full of boulders it was like bread dough
mixed with raisins. On its way down pine cone road, it plucked up cars from driveways and the street.
When it crashed into the Genofiles house, the shattering of safety glass made terrific explosive sounds.

lots of questions began to arise. Would the house be ok? Would the debris flow even reach them?
Where was dad? What direction should they go? Johnny decided to wing it and follow the traffic
because he assumed everyone knew where they were going. As Johnny is driving he sees his nemesis

looked almost exactly alike, except the nemesis dressed a lot better. She also noticed that Samantha

Research Paper Dermatologist
Dermatologist take care of people with problems relating to skin. They can prescribe medicine,
perform surgery, and write treatment plans for a patient. Most dermatologist work in a group clinic.
Working in a group clinic is very helpful because they share many of the same patients. It is a lot
easier to communicate information about a patient when most of the doctors work in the same place.
People aspiring to be a dermatologist need to be able to work long hours, be able to handle stress,
emotionally stable, patient, and have problem solving skills.
A bachelor s degree is the minimum degree a person can have to become a dermatologist. Math,
English, physics, biology, and inorganic and organic chemistry will most likely be required with a
bachelor s degree. Most people have more advanced degrees, but they are not needed. There are more
opportunities with an advanced degree. To be a dermatology physician assistant, you need a master s

Positive Advantages Of Millennials Staying Home During...
Advantages of Millennials Staying Home during College
For all generations, including millennials, the majority of students seeking a post secondary degree
have the traditional college experience. The traditional college experience includes students that live
on campus in a dormitory. Millennials take longer than past generations to become independent and
reach adulthood because they are still living with their parents. Many positive factors lead millennials
to stay home: cheaper living expenses, less stress, and the ability to focus on their education. There are
also many advantages for millennials living at home for college over millennials living in a dorm.
Living at home allows students to focus on schoolwork instead of maintaining a dorm or other
distractions. Parents can teach their children responsibilities and aid with their college work while they
stay at home. While millennials who move out experience independence at an earlier age, they pick up
negative habits such as addictions that hinder their chance of being successful. Millennials who live at
home during college have a greater advantage over students moving out because they will have
superior education, financial security, responsibility, and no harmful habits to become successful and
prosperous individuals.
Additionally, millennials staying at home during college instead of living independently is an
advantage over living alone because these millennials will eventually become autonomous, successful

Use Of Aripiprazole For Acute Mani Critiquing A Systematic...
The Use of Aripiprazole for Acute Mania: Critiquing a systematic research review Systematic reviews
are based on an extensive and meticulous search for studies and research and are selective of the data
that is reported; excluding poor quality studies and accurately categorizing the quality of the research
that has been chosen (Melnyk, Fineout Overholt, 2011). Once there are several sources of information
presented on issues, or studies that are conducted on a concern; clinicians may then set out to pull
together the results of the findings into one area to aid in visualizing the larger scheme of the concern.
In this manner, identifying the relevance, side effects and outcomes of drugs to control or alter the
experiences of patients with particular diseases and disorders becomes instrumental in how clinical
practices and guidelines are developed (Taylor, Cornelius, Smith, Young, 2014). In this paper, the use
of aripiprazole alone and in combination with other drug agents will be examined through identifying
the medications relevance, safety concerns and hypothesized patient outcomes as illustrated by the
culmination of current studies. Through the use of a systematic research review (SRR), we will assist
in setting a standard of care built on the research of aripiprazole that identifies what is identified as
inevitability, what is tentatively recognized, and what are the disparities of knowledge regarding its
usage (Garay, Llorca, Young, Hameg, Samalin, 2014).

Marijuana And Other Narcotic Drugs
Marijuana and other narcotic drugs have been a controversial topic on a national and global scale
throughout the century. Marijuana especially is considered a drug that s harmful and helpful at the
same time. People have formed opinions about different drugs based upon their observations and the
scientific research that has been shared with the public from different experimental organizations. We
have had picketers demonstrate their support by protesting for the marijuana movement, which can be
seen in today s news by photos taken of their picketing. And we have seen an increase in our law

Marijuana can be widely found and be easily grown in the United States. The easy accessibility of
drugs poses a serious threat to law enforcement around the country that have and has tried to enforce
the law to eradicate the use of drugs according to laws put into place by the legislature and supposedly
most of the people in that state. Marijuana is still illegal in some states and as time progresses the
number of states which can still uphold that marijuana is illegal has changed. Today, Twenty three
states and the District of Columbia currently have laws legalizing marijuana in some form or way out
of the fifty two states of the Union. The increase in marijuana and other drugs being used in that state
has its ties to narcotic crime which could be linked to the cartel for other drugs that are out there.
Thus, it increases narcotic crime in those states that choose to legalize it. Another con of marijuana
and of other dangerous drug use is the most obvious. It s the health of the individual who consumes it
by smoking it. Your lungs are inhaling substances such as tar and it is among other things that can
affect your breathing. According to the American Lung Association, Smoking marijuana clearly
damages the human lung, and regular use leads to chronic bronchitis and can cause an immune

Descriptive Essay About Snow
It was a cold day, so cold that your arms start to sting as if a needle is impaling the surface of your
skin. The wind applies a force which feels as if your face is oozing with thick crimson red blood. The
gray puffy clouds covered the sky and dropped small snowflakes onto the road s surface. A man stood
there, freezing, clearing the coat of thick white snow from the concrete road. His nose runs with a
river of snot that floods out when the cold wind strikes. His sense of smell is heavily clogged by the
slimy snot, but he can still smell the scent of the steamy hot chocolate which sits on the top of his
snow covered car. His feet start to numb because of the cold flood which soaks through his boots to
his white, silky socks. His feet feel as if he stepped into the freezing cold ocean. As if he fell through
ice and he was stuck standing there. The vast pile of the ice white snow feels almost like a quicksand
around his black rubber boot. Foggy figures of people shovel the big piles of snow off the sidewalks.
They scrape and pick at the glossy white ice which sticks to the sidewalk like a little boy clinging to
his mother s side. His feet still sting as if he was stepping on pins and needles. His hands are damp
with sweat from grasping the curved metal shaft attached to a socket which holds the blade. The blade
cuts holes into the thick powdered snow which is removed from the endless pile. The jet black shovel
is filled with slushy snow and crystal shards of ice. The end of

MAPK And The Regulation Of The Isolation Of Eukaryotic Cells
Introduction Isolation of DNA along with transcriptional material in the nucleus, by the nuclear
envelope, from the cytoplasm and the translational material held there gives the opportunity for exact
regulation (Lange et al, 2006). The nuclear envelope provides the ability for regulation of gene
expression and signal transduction. With this regulation cells can, if exposed to an extracellular signal,
perceive and create an intracellular response to withstand or react to such a signal, for example, by
signalling cascades with the use of mitogen activated protein kinases (MAPKs) (Brown and Sacks,
2009). A protein kinase can phosphorylate a protein at serine, threonine or tyrosine residues which can
affect its position within the cell ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The many isoforms of JNK could have varying catalytic activity on their substrates such as the means
to phosphorylate a transcription factor (c Jun) in JNK1 and JNK2 (Liu et al, 2004). JNK
phosphorylate either serine or threonine residues when there is a proline after it (Hibi et al, 1993).
JNK can also be phosphorylated by autophosphorylation most notable in the JNK2 isoforms where it
still allows initiation of substrates with the strongest occurrence in JNK22 (Tsuiki et al, 2003). There
are three kinases involved in the MAPK phosphorelay system which act in series: MAPK kinase
kinase (MKKK), MAP kinase (MKK) and MAPK (JNK), which respond to external stimuli, shown in
Figure 1 (Johnson et al, 2005). There are a wide range of stimuli that can activate regulation of JNK
including ultraviolet irradiation, growth factors (tumour necrosis factor ), cytokines and even protein
synthesis inhibitors (anisomycin) activates MKKK and using phosphorylation to activate the next
kinase in the process, MKK, which in turn phosphorylates MAPK (Dérijard et al, 1994; Kallunki et al,
1994; Lange Carter et al, 1993). There are 13 different MKKK including MEKK1 4, MLK2/3 and
DLK that can act in the JNK pathway which provides the ability to responds these different external
signals (Brown and Sacks, 2009; Dérijard et al, 1994; Johnson and Lapadat, 2002; Kallunki et al,
1994). In the sequence of MEKK there are specific motifs

Virgil s Aeneid as Roman Propaganda Essay
Virgil s Aeneid as Roman Propaganda
Rome was experiencing a great deal of internal turmoil during the period when Virgil wrote the
Aeneid. There was somewhat of an identity crisis in Rome as it had no definitive leader, or history.
With the ascension of Augustus to the throne, Rome was unified again. Still, it had no great book. The
Greeks had their Odyssey, giving them a sense of history and of continuity through time. A commonly
held view is that the Aeneid attempts to provide the Romans with this sense of continuity or roots.
There is a great deal of textual evidence to support this interpretation. Virgil makes numerous
references to the greatness of Rome through ancient prophecies. Clearly, the entire poem is an account
of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These two methods allow Virgil to connect his Rome very closely to the story of Aeneas, and give the
Aeneid a great deal of historical credibility in the eyes of his contemporaries.
It was very critical to Virgil that a believable sense of history be achieved in his writing. At the
beginning of Book VI, the story of Daedalus and his son Icarus is introduced when the Trojans see it
carved into the temple doors (lines 21 50). There is a second time in the text that such a reference to
the past is made in a similar fashion. This occurs in Book I when Aeneas observes the carvings on the
walls of Juno s temple at Carthage (lines 619 762). In these two incidents, the same technique of
recalling history is employed. Virgil seems to imply that the best way that he can describe history is to
tell it with the help of the gods, which in this case that would be the Muse that he has called upon in
Book I to assist him (line 13). At the time, the knowledge of the Muses was considered to be the
objective truth while the knowledge of the mortals was considered to be secondhand and imperfect.
The distinction between the two is made with the story of Daedalus. Virgil gives an elaborate account
of what he knows of the event, and then omits the ending which he does not know: Twice your father
tried to shape your fall in gold, but twice his hands dropped. (Book VI, lines 49 50) By wording the
story so that Daedalus does not describe his own son s

Eddie Leonski Murder Case
Eddie Leonski
Many serial killers are diagnosed with a mental disorder and others are considered to kill without a
psychological motive. People who tend to commit crimes of injustice in the topic of murder usually
have an underlying reason whether it is psychological or not. Serial Killers are in no way justified in
the case of insanity. Eddie Leonski was a murderer who tried to justify his crimes with a plea of
insanity but he wasn t found clinically insane and was hung for his crimes in 1942. Eddie is always

Eventually Eddie had developed a drinking problem. On May 3, 1942 the horror story came to life
when the body of Ivy Mcleod, age 40, was found in Albourne park, Melbourne. Ivy Mcleod was found
beaten and strangled to death with her clothes torn off. Eddie Leonski had no time to rape the victim
as he heard footsteps and ran off. The witness had only seen an army uniform and nothing else as he
stumbled upon the scene, as he described to the police. Investigators of the crime had known that the
motive was nowhere near robbery due to Ivy Mcleod s purse and everything in it being with her. She
stepped back into the doorway and i grabbed her. I grabbed her neck and changed the position of my
hand so that the thumbs were at her throat and i choked her, stated Eddie. Only six days after the first
victim the nightmare continued as Pauline Thompson was found her neck and strangled to death lying
on the steps of her own home. Pauline was a loved mother of two and the wife of a cop. Pauline had
met Eddie Leonski in a cafe and had left with him for drinks. Later that night she had started singing
to Eddie which had seemed to trigger something in him. She was singing in my ear. It sounded as if
she were singing for me. She had a nice voice, Eddie declared, I grabbed her, i grabbed her. I don t
know why. The third and last victim of Eddie Leonski, Gladys Hosking, was found outside of where
the soldiers were stationed on may 18, only 350 meters away from her boarding house. All of the
victims of Eddie s had been strangled and their clothes tattered. Several more women spoke up to
surviving attacks, confirmed to be committed by Eddie Leonski. Eddie had an odd obsession with
women s voices and had claimed to have killed his victims to get to their voices. The victims of these
murders were considerably older than Eddie and investigators and psychologists all linked his

for the last room. Despite facing these hardships, Gardner still stays optimistic, plays jokes with his
son and brings him to the playground, trying to make him happy. In real life, I like to stay optimistic
even if facing problems as I know that there is nothing cannot be solved. On the other hand, a
pessimistic person will only make things become more complicated due to their negative thinking and
eventually bringing more problems.
After six month of training, Gardner is selected from 20 competitors to work as a stockbroker in Dean
Witter due to his excellent performance during the intern. In one scene, Gardner is called up to the
meeting room, and he is informed by the director manager Mr. Frohms as he is officially getting a
position of a stockbroker in Dean Witter. Gardner is so happy as all the hard work he had done is
finally paid off. In this part, he called his life as Happiness .

The Middle East
Armageddon in the Middle East. Populations reduced to dust by nuclear war. International actors
drawn into tense conflict and potentially world altering violence. These are the fears held by the U.S.
and Israel when considering the possibility of Iranian nuclear weapons. However, the attitudes of the
Obama administration in discussing potential deals with Iran have demonstrated a change in the U.S.
strategy when interacting with an Iranian regime that desires nuclear capability. In recent months, Iran
has made global headlines once again by asking for permission to develop and possess nuclear
weapons within their state for the purpose of stabilizing the turbulent Middle East. This recent
development has sparked a heated debate over the best way for the United States and Israel to respond
to Iran s quest to obtain nuclear power in the Middle East, creating mounting tensions and polarization
in American and global politics. The Obama administration aims to stabilize the Middle East by
developing a diplomatic deal with Iran. However, the argument of Israel and the conservatives in
Congress that Iran s potential nuclear capability brings much more risk and danger than reward is a
much more realistic, pragmatic and appropriate viewpoint given the tensions and instability in the
Middle East and the history of Iran s conflict with Western civilization. Iran s leaders have actively
pursued the development of nuclear energy technology since the launch of U.S. President Dwight D.

Analysis Of The Poem The Usns Bob Hope
The USNS Bob Hope is a US Navy cargo ship named after the famous entertainer Bob Hope. It may
seem odd for a naval vessel to be named after an entertainer, but what Hope did for the Navy and the
military as a whole is worth the honor. Bob hope performed at hundreds of USO shows spanning 50
years. He dedicated much of his life to supporting US military efforts in the wars the country
participated in between the years of 1941 1991. Although Bob Hope may not have been a great
military leader like many other ships namesakes, but what Hope did shows great leadership in other
less expected ways. Leslie Townes Hope was born on May 29, 1903 in Eltham, London. His family
emigrated from England to the United States in 1908. Hope dropped out of school at age 16, and he
tried a few different career options before he eventually landed on entertainer. He started out taking

from his partner in order to pursue this, and he was more successful as an MC. As Leslie Hope

Avoiding Scholarship or Grant Schemes Essay example
Avoiding scholarship or grant scams can be as simple as the student makes it. The internet is a
powerful tool for business, so students can t just avoid it because of a few crooks or conmen even if
they do seem like they re behind every pop up window and banner ad. When looking for scholarship
or grants it is difficult to avoid scams so students need to avoid applications that require fees and
personal identification numbers. It s not that hard, students just have to look out for the warning signs.
They must keep in mind that these warning signs, of course, are only for a handful of the frauds and
scams out there. Conmen are good at what they do, trying to separate students and consumers from
their money. Most of these warning signs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Students only usually need to hand out some of this information when they have received the
scholarship or grant. This is only because most scholarships are taxable because they look at it as a
source of income, but when they go file for taxes they can more than likely get it written off for
educational purposes. There are a few other simple warning signs that students and consumer must
keep in mind. For example if the organization sounds like a non profit but has no traceable history.
This means that the organization sounds like its not getting a profit but probably is . Also consumers
or students cant check it out and see because they have no traceable history. Basically like the site or
organization doesn t really exist they just want them to feed them personal information so they can
take their money. If the organization claims it will handle all their scholarship applications for them
this should be a warning. Never trust anything that seems too good to be true. All in all, scams are
easy to avoid. Now that the warning signs are out there, avoiding scams and conmen should be easier.
Just remember the golden rule, mentioned previously in the essay, if they have to pay money to get
money, then it is more than likely a scam. There are many frauds and conmen out there looking for a
quick way to make fast cash. Also, never give out personal information. A consumers identity could
easily be taken because of poor judgment of

Ford s Revitalization Strategy Essay
Case 4 Ford and the World Automobile Industry Robert M. Grant FORD’ S REVITALIZATION
STRATEGY In September 2003, Bruce Blythe took up the new position as chief strategy officer at
Ford Motor Company. His appointment came in the wake of a massive upheaval of Ford’ s strategy,
leadership, and organization. In 2001, Ford’ s CEO Jacques Nasser had been ousted by the board
after a three year tenure. Nasser’ s goal had been to transform Ford into a flexible, customer focused,
innovative, global giant— that simultaneously paid careful attention to profitability and shareholder
return. By late 2001, it was clear that the strategy was not working. Overpriced acquisitions had
dissipated shareholder value, the Firestone Ford Explorer recall ... Show more content on

By the turn of the century hundred of small companies were producing automobiles both in Europe
and in America. By 2004, the industry was in different stages of its life cycle in different parts of the
world. The US industry entered a period of rapid growth during 1910 28, and reached its peak of
production in 1965. In the two decades up to 2004, car production was on a downward trend, but if
trucks were included, output was broadly stable (see table 4.2). In Europe and Japan too, total
production was showing a declining trend The problem of market saturation was exacerbated by the
tendency for cars to last longer(see table 4.3). [Tables 4.2 and 4.3 about here] As a result, the
automobile producers have looked increasingly to the newly industrializing countries for market
opportunities. During the 1980s and 1990s countries such as Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand,
Turkey, Brazil, and Argentina offered the best growth prospects. As these markets became increasingly
saturated, so China, India, and the former Soviet Union were seen as the “ next wave” of attractive
markets. With the opening of many of these countries to trade and direct investment, the world
production of cars and trucks s continued to grow (see table 4.4 ). [Table 4.4 about here] The
Evolution of the Automobile The early years of the industry were characterized by considerable
uncertainty over the design and technology of the motorcar.

The Human Life Expectancy
Over the human life expectancy, performance of memory demonstrates extensive variety and
differences, with a generous increase in execution and performance over childhood and youth, a sneak
peak in young adulthood, and fast decrease with propelling grown up age. Memory execution
improves and increases amid youth and pre adulthood, and declines as the person hits maturity or in
old age. Among more youthful grown ups, better capacity to bind things to the setting in which they
were experienced is connected with higher working memory execution of the individuals. This
increasing and decreasing pattern of memory applies to both short term as well as episodic memory.
The arrangement of complex memory representations, going from perceptual element to the
development of higher order memories, ideas, and thoughts, fundamentally relies on upon binding
processes. A study was conducted to analyze the degree to which age differences in binding add to life
expectancy age contrasts in short term memory (STM). Young kids, adolescents , more youthful
grown ups, and grown ups worked on global and local short term recognition fleeting
acknowledgment assignments that are accepted to measure and judge item and item context memory,
individually. A two component framework was proposed of memory development across life span of
the individuals. There were certain assumptions taken into consideration in this study. Given the
inadequate data and evidence with respect to age related changes and

  • 2. Tragic Death Of Romeo And Juliet The play, Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare is a tragic love story set in the olden days about two teenagers from different feuding families falling in love ultimately resulting in both of their deaths. The story contains lots of supporting characters that contribute to causing the death of Romeo and Juliet. One character that has a big impact on their deaths is Friar Laurence. Friar Laurence is a friend to both Romeo and Juliet along with being a priest that marries many of the townspeople. Friar Laurence s caring personality, gracious motives, and foolish actions lead to Romeo and Juliet s tragic death. Throughout the play, Friar Laurence demonstrates a caring and friendly personality to Romeo and Juliet. The friar supports Romeo and Juliet being together because he hopes that it will bring the two families together, The Capulets, and Montagues, and end their generations long feud. In act 2 scene 4 the Friar says, In one respect I ll thy assistant be; For this alliance may so happy prove, To turn your households rancor to pure love. (Act 2, Scene 4, Lines 90 93). This shows that he not only wants Romeo and Juliet to be happy but he wants to create peace by bringing the two households together. This shows strong optimism because the two families have been feuding for generations and the solution to this seems more complicated than two of the family members dating, this seems like it would create more problems, which it later does in the story, but The Friar keeps his optimism that this will end the fueding of the families. This does not go as The Friar believes it will, it actually goes tragically wrong, resulting in causing the tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet. This shows that even though The Friar keeps optimistic views it still results in the tragic deaths of Romeo and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Presidential Debate At Longwood University Essay The Vice Presidential debate, held at Longwood University on October 4th, was between the Democratic candidate, U.S. Senator Tim Kaine, and Republican candidate, Indiana Governor Mike Pence. Specific issues were asked about by the moderator, Elaine Quijano, such as specific qualities of the candidates that would make them good leaders if tragedy were to occur. However, the candidates used much of their allotted time to target the opposing presidential candidate and would then interrupt their opponent multiple times throughout their answer. Comparing the citizenship qualification of the United States to Germany may be helpful in solving the current immigration problems facing our country. The Vice Presidential debate showed the differences in opinion on immigration; the Republican campaign looks to build on the current enforcement only policies and the Democratic campaign seeks to secure the country while attempting to help immigrants and their families. The Republican candidate, Donald Trump, has shown an openly negative opinion of immigration, specifically of Muslims and Mexicans. The common remark people remember is Trump s promise to build a massive border wall, which would be devastating to the economy. Mike Pence focused his reply to the question of immigration on the safety of American citizens being the top priority. He also stated that their party would suspend the Syrian refugee program because it is too complicated to know if a person is associated with the Islamic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Whether it is your marriage or short term partner, a breakup isn t easy, but is it for the best? Well imagine being in a band with the person does the band break up... or do you work it out and create something magical? Some say it s better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all, and in Fleetwood Mac s case that is defiantly the reasoning behind their album Rumours. Millions of people were able to relate to Fleetwood Mac s Rumors due to the way they were able to make a private matter public. This disquisition will explain why Fleetwood Mac s Rumours is considered a classic album; What exactly has to be taken into consideration for an album to be considered a classic? A classic album should include stupendous artistry, sharp production work, iconic packaging, critical acclaim, and even the albums commercial success. • 5. Leadership in 12 Angry Men In the film 12 Angry Men, a group of twelve jurors are deciding the fate of a young boy accused of murdering his father. Throughout the juries dilleration, one man exhibits all of the qualities of leadership. This man is juror number 8 played by Henry Fonda. Fonda not only exhibits the the 10 qualities of a leader but he uses these qualities to lead the entire jury to a vote of not guilty (Fonda Lumet, 1957). Early on in the film Fonda shows the first quality of leadership vision. Vision can be defined as the leaders ability to know what is needed and how what is needed can be achieved (book). In the case of 12 Angry Men, Henry Fonda has a vision that he and the other jurors have the responsibility to consider the facts in the case ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For Fonda the entire film is him doing just that. Being that Fonda what the only one at the beginning to vote not guilty, he used his enthusiasm to bring the rest of the jurors over to his way of think. A good example of this is how he convinced juror number 9 (the old man) that there could be doubt in the witness that was an older gentleman like he was. By showing juror 9 that there were flaws in the evidence and the witnesses he was able to gain another follower. His enthusiasm for getting the ruling right is what drove him to be able to make this happen time and time again with every juror (Fonda Lumet, 1957). Next we are introduced to Fonda s leadership quality of Stability. Stability is the quality of a leader to discern emotions from fact and keep personal beliefs separate from the task at hand (book). In the film we see this when Fonda discerns that racism of another juror is not acceptable. He says to juror 6 that it s always difficult to keep personal prejudice out of a thing like this (Fonda Lumet, 1957). In this statement he is showing his own abilities to discern what prejudice is and how he is trying to keep it from influencing his decisions. The fifth quality of leadership expressed by Fonda in the film was that of Concern for Others. In this quality of leadership the leader values those they lead as fellow human beings and not just as those that are there to serve (book). The whole premise behind the film directly ... Nick s actions, speech, and thoughts validate this claim. Hemingway uses diction when Nick makes camp to show his carefree attitude: There were plenty of good places to camp on the river. But this was good (Hemingway 5). This shows Nick barely cares when choosing his campsite location. Although there were other campsites available, this was good (Hemingway 5). To most he was a hero for his victory in the US Civil War. Lincoln proved to be a strong military leader. He strategized and paved the way for slaves to be a part of history. At the young age of two, Abraham Lincoln was unaware he was getting accustomed to a lifestyle, that would later impact his career. Abraham Lincoln came from a very normal background. Many people were concerned about what Lincoln could actually do. They did not forget that Lincoln had little to no experience with law. He only had up to eighteen months of formal schooling. Despite these facts, Lincoln was regarded as Candidate of pride, wealth and aristocratic family distinction . Better than most union leaders he appreciated conditions in the south... and the advantages of being able to call on the old southern leaders. He was very generous and considerate. They treated others inhumanly, without any care or sympathy. African natives were called savages in Conrad s point of view, but he does not see how the Europeans were actually the true savages. Europeans treated the native inhabitants like they were nothing important. Native Africans lived in those swamps, forests and jungles along the Congo River. They were the ones who were thought as wild men. Whenever someone traveled through those areas, they would feel the savagery coming from the natives even though they were just trying to protect themselves from more harm. Conrad uses Marlow s visit to the Company s Offices to describe how different native Africans were treated compared to the Europeans. Marlow was appalled with the conditions around the Company offices. Marlow described the company s accountant wearing such nice clothes while the savages were dying slowly, working hard though malnourished. Another example Conrad portrays savagery in the novel but does not regard it as savagery was when Kurtz has that insatiable greed for ivory. Family Centered Practice Model Paper In order to provide services to children and families involved with the child welfare system, FGDM s need to come from a family centered and a strengths based approach. When families are given the opportunity to demonstrate their strengths and they are recognized, respected, affirmed they are more willing to make take initiative towards change and use those strengths as their foundation. • 10. Cardiac Cycle Is The Sequence Of Events That Occurs When... Cardiac Cycle The cardiac cycle is the sequence of events that occurs when the heart beats.(biology.about.com). There are two phases of the cardiac cycle. In the diastole phase, the heart ventricles are relaxed and the heart fills with blood. In the systole phase, the ventricles contract and pump blood to the arteries. A cardiac cycle is completed when the heart fills with blood and the blood gets pumped out of the heart. The events of the cardiac cycle described below trace the path of the blood as it enters the heart, is pumped to the lungs, travel back to the heart and is pumped out to the rest of the body. Note that the events that occur in the first and second diastole phases happen at the same time. This is also true for the events of the first and second systole phases. Cardiac Cycle: 1st Diastole Phase During the diastole phase, the atria and ventricles are relaxed and the atrioventricular valves are open. De oxygenated blood from the superior and inferior vena cavae flows into the right atrium. The open atrioventricular valves allow blood to pass through to the ventricles. The SA nodes contracts triggering the atria to contract. The right atrium empties its contents into the right ventricle. The tricuspid valve prevents the blood from flowing back into the right atrium. (About.com) Cardiac Cycle: 1st Systole Phase According to Richard E. K. Mean Girls is a teen comedy film loosely based on the self help book titled Queen Bees and Wannabes. The main character is a high school student named Cady that just moved from Africa and has been homeschooled her whole life. The American culture and society she is introduced to is embodied by the Plastics, who are the most popular girls at North Shore High: Regina, Gretchen, and Karen. The pressure put on Cady by society causes her to struggle to decide what her priorities should be. Mean Girls criticizes the traditional notions of femininity that are expected of women, as they are not required for them to be successful and accomplished. Consider the scene when Cady first goes to Regina s house, closer to the beginning of the movie. During this scene, the Plastics collectively walk up to a mirror and start stating what they dislike about their bodies. The fact that the Plastics, who are supposed to be the most popular and attractive characters in the film, are pointing out flaws on themselves induces feelings of superiority, because even they aren t perfect. The superiority theory as described by Rappoport suggests that this is humorous because feeling superior to someone, even subconsciously, causes pleasure and laughter. Out of the 25 different districts in Chicago, each one has its own statistics and reports on the crimes that happen in their area. For most historians many believe that there was no true form of resistance from the Jewish people to stop the holocaust while other historians argue that they did all they could in order to stop the holocaust from happening. While I believe that both sides of this argument are true in the sense that Jewish Resistance was widespread, but there were no connecting pieces in order to make Jewish Resistance affective enough to stop the holocaust from occurring. In order to even begin to argue if Jewish resistance was effective or not we have to first know what the actual meaning of resistance is. Jews had to main forms of resistance, one was known as spiritual resistance while the other was a more common form of resistance known as armed resistance. One is when you take up weaponry and manpower in order to stop your oppressors, in this case the Nazis from achieving their goal of exterminating the Jewish population as a whole. On the other hand, you have spiritual resistance which were ways of trying to keep Jewish life normal under the Nazi Regime which were things like continuing to educate the youth and still engaging in Jewish religious practices even though they had been made unlawful under Nazi rule. The Use of Aripiprazole for Acute Mania: Critiquing a systematic research review Systematic reviews are based on an extensive and meticulous search for studies and research and are selective of the data that is reported; excluding poor quality studies and accurately categorizing the quality of the research that has been chosen (Melnyk, Fineout Overholt, 2011). Once there are several sources of information presented on issues, or studies that are conducted on a concern; clinicians may then set out to pull together the results of the findings into one area to aid in visualizing the larger scheme of the concern. In this manner, identifying the relevance, side effects and outcomes of drugs to control or alter the experiences of patients with particular diseases and disorders becomes instrumental in how clinical practices and guidelines are developed (Taylor, Cornelius, Smith, Young, 2014). In this paper, the use of aripiprazole alone and in combination with other drug agents will be examined through identifying the medications relevance, safety concerns and hypothesized patient outcomes as illustrated by the culmination of current studies. Marijuana is still illegal in some states and as time progresses the number of states which can still uphold that marijuana is illegal has changed. Today, Twenty three states and the District of Columbia currently have laws legalizing marijuana in some form or way out of the fifty two states of the Union. The increase in marijuana and other drugs being used in that state has its ties to narcotic crime which could be linked to the cartel for other drugs that are out there. Thus, it increases narcotic crime in those states that choose to legalize it. Another con of marijuana and of other dangerous drug use is the most obvious. • 30. Descriptive Essay About Snow It was a cold day, so cold that your arms start to sting as if a needle is impaling the surface of your skin. The wind applies a force which feels as if your face is oozing with thick crimson red blood. The gray puffy clouds covered the sky and dropped small snowflakes onto the road s surface. A man stood there, freezing, clearing the coat of thick white snow from the concrete road. His nose runs with a river of snot that floods out when the cold wind strikes. His sense of smell is heavily clogged by the slimy snot, but he can still smell the scent of the steamy hot chocolate which sits on the top of his snow covered car. His feet start to numb because of the cold flood which soaks through his boots to his white, silky socks. His feet feel as if he stepped into the freezing cold ocean. As if he fell through ice and he was stuck standing there. The vast pile of the ice white snow feels almost like a quicksand around his black rubber boot. Foggy figures of people shovel the big piles of snow off the sidewalks. They scrape and pick at the glossy white ice which sticks to the sidewalk like a little boy clinging to his mother s side. His feet still sting as if he was stepping on pins and needles. His hands are damp with sweat from grasping the curved metal shaft attached to a socket which holds the blade. The blade cuts holes into the thick powdered snow which is removed from the endless pile. The jet black shovel is filled with slushy snow and crystal shards of ice. The end of ... • 31. MAPK And The Regulation Of The Isolation Of Eukaryotic Cells Introduction Isolation of DNA along with transcriptional material in the nucleus, by the nuclear envelope, from the cytoplasm and the translational material held there gives the opportunity for exact regulation (Lange et al, 2006). The nuclear envelope provides the ability for regulation of gene expression and signal transduction. With this regulation cells can, if exposed to an extracellular signal, perceive and create an intracellular response to withstand or react to such a signal, for example, by signalling cascades with the use of mitogen activated protein kinases (MAPKs) (Brown and Sacks, 2009). A protein kinase can phosphorylate a protein at serine, threonine or tyrosine residues which can affect its position within the cell ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The many isoforms of JNK could have varying catalytic activity on their substrates such as the means to phosphorylate a transcription factor (c Jun) in JNK1 and JNK2 (Liu et al, 2004). JNK phosphorylate either serine or threonine residues when there is a proline after it (Hibi et al, 1993). JNK can also be phosphorylated by autophosphorylation most notable in the JNK2 isoforms where it still allows initiation of substrates with the strongest occurrence in JNK22 (Tsuiki et al, 2003). There are three kinases involved in the MAPK phosphorelay system which act in series: MAPK kinase kinase (MKKK), MAP kinase (MKK) and MAPK (JNK), which respond to external stimuli, shown in Figure 1 (Johnson et al, 2005). There are a wide range of stimuli that can activate regulation of JNK including ultraviolet irradiation, growth factors (tumour necrosis factor ), cytokines and even protein synthesis inhibitors (anisomycin) activates MKKK and using phosphorylation to activate the next kinase in the process, MKK, which in turn phosphorylates MAPK (Dérijard et al, 1994; Kallunki et al, 1994; Lange Carter et al, 1993). There are 13 different MKKK including MEKK1 4, MLK2/3 and DLK that can act in the JNK pathway which provides the ability to responds these different external signals (Brown and Sacks, 2009; Dérijard et al, 1994; Johnson and Lapadat, 2002; Kallunki et al, 1994). • 32. Virgil s Aeneid as Roman Propaganda Essay Virgil s Aeneid as Roman Propaganda Rome was experiencing a great deal of internal turmoil during the period when Virgil wrote the Aeneid. There was somewhat of an identity crisis in Rome as it had no definitive leader, or history. With the ascension of Augustus to the throne, Rome was unified again. Still, it had no great book. The Greeks had their Odyssey, giving them a sense of history and of continuity through time. A commonly held view is that the Aeneid attempts to provide the Romans with this sense of continuity or roots. There is a great deal of textual evidence to support this interpretation. Virgil makes numerous references to the greatness of Rome through ancient prophecies. Clearly, the entire poem is an account of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These two methods allow Virgil to connect his Rome very closely to the story of Aeneas, and give the Aeneid a great deal of historical credibility in the eyes of his contemporaries. It was very critical to Virgil that a believable sense of history be achieved in his writing. At the beginning of Book VI, the story of Daedalus and his son Icarus is introduced when the Trojans see it carved into the temple doors (lines 21 50). There is a second time in the text that such a reference to the past is made in a similar fashion. This occurs in Book I when Aeneas observes the carvings on the walls of Juno s temple at Carthage (lines 619 762). In these two incidents, the same technique of recalling history is employed. Virgil seems to imply that the best way that he can describe history is to tell it with the help of the gods, which in this case that would be the Muse that he has called upon in Book I to assist him (line 13). At the time, the knowledge of the Muses was considered to be the objective truth while the knowledge of the mortals was considered to be secondhand and imperfect. The distinction between the two is made with the story of Daedalus. Virgil gives an elaborate account of what he knows of the event, and then omits the ending which he does not know: Twice your father tried to shape your fall in gold, but twice his hands dropped. (Book VI, lines 49 50) By wording the story so that Daedalus does not describe his own son s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Eddie Leonski had no time to rape the victim as he heard footsteps and ran off. The witness had only seen an army uniform and nothing else as he stumbled upon the scene, as he described to the police. Investigators of the crime had known that the motive was nowhere near robbery due to Ivy Mcleod s purse and everything in it being with her. She stepped back into the doorway and i grabbed her. I grabbed her neck and changed the position of my hand so that the thumbs were at her throat and i choked her, stated Eddie. Only six days after the first victim the nightmare continued as Pauline Thompson was found her neck and strangled to death lying on the steps of her own home. Pauline was a loved mother of two and the wife of a cop. Pauline had met Eddie Leonski in a cafe and had left with him for drinks. Later that night she had started singing to Eddie which had seemed to trigger something in him. She was singing in my ear. It sounded as if she were singing for me. She had a nice voice, Eddie declared, I grabbed her, i grabbed her. I don t know why. The third and last victim of Eddie Leonski, Gladys Hosking, was found outside of where the soldiers were stationed on may 18, only 350 meters away from her boarding house. All of the victims of Eddie s had been strangled and their clothes tattered. Several more women spoke up to surviving attacks, confirmed to be committed by Eddie Leonski. These are the fears held by the U.S. and Israel when considering the possibility of Iranian nuclear weapons. However, the attitudes of the Obama administration in discussing potential deals with Iran have demonstrated a change in the U.S. strategy when interacting with an Iranian regime that desires nuclear capability. In recent months, Iran has made global headlines once again by asking for permission to develop and possess nuclear weapons within their state for the purpose of stabilizing the turbulent Middle East. This recent development has sparked a heated debate over the best way for the United States and Israel to respond to Iran s quest to obtain nuclear power in the Middle East, creating mounting tensions and polarization in American and global politics. The Obama administration aims to stabilize the Middle East by developing a diplomatic deal with Iran. However, the argument of Israel and the conservatives in Congress that Iran s potential nuclear capability brings much more risk and danger than reward is a much more realistic, pragmatic and appropriate viewpoint given the tensions and instability in the Middle East and the history of Iran s conflict with Western civilization. It may seem odd for a naval vessel to be named after an entertainer, but what Hope did for the Navy and the military as a whole is worth the honor. Bob hope performed at hundreds of USO shows spanning 50 years. He dedicated much of his life to supporting US military efforts in the wars the country participated in between the years of 1941 1991. Although Bob Hope may not have been a great military leader like many other ships namesakes, but what Hope did shows great leadership in other less expected ways. Leslie Townes Hope was born on May 29, 1903 in Eltham, London. His family emigrated from England to the United States in 1908. Hope dropped out of school at age 16, and he tried a few different career options before he eventually landed on entertainer. He started out taking dance lessons and then working in small vaudeville shows. He started to gain some success with his partner act before he discovered that he had a talent as a master of ceremonies (MC). He then split from his partner in order to pursue this, and he was more successful as an MC. As Leslie Hope continued to gain popularity, he decided that a name like Bob had a better sound to it; from then on he was known to all as Bob Hope. In the two decades up to 2004, car production was on a downward trend, but if trucks were included, output was broadly stable (see table 4.2). The Human Life Expectancy Over the human life expectancy, performance of memory demonstrates extensive variety and differences, with a generous increase in execution and performance over childhood and youth, a sneak peak in young adulthood, and fast decrease with propelling grown up age. Memory execution improves and increases amid youth and pre adulthood, and declines as the person hits maturity or in old age. Among more youthful grown ups, better capacity to bind things to the setting in which they were experienced is connected with higher working memory execution of the individuals. This increasing and decreasing pattern of memory applies to both short term as well as episodic memory. The arrangement of complex memory representations, going from perceptual element to the development of higher order memories, ideas, and thoughts, fundamentally relies on upon binding processes.
