A total of 150 educators from ten states attended the two-day events which included storage demonstrations, discussion panels with cattle producers, and presentations from experts in the field of co-product utilization. Wet distillers grains products have predominately been used by large producers with substantial economic and animal performance benefits. New research in ways to store and utilize ethanol co-products allows access of these benefits to small feeders and cow calf operations. Gaining firsthand experience in storage techniques prepared educators to teach these techniques to others. Percentages are on a dry matter (DM) basis. Each educator was provided a resource packet with unique electronic media including pictures, videos, written reports, and interactive spreadsheet tools for use in educational programs. Participant responses indicated 100% gained knowledge of co-product storage techniques. Post conference, 55% planned to initiate or expand educational programs locally.
