2. Export the BIM model in a format like IFC to import into building performance simulation software.
3. Run simulations to analyze energy use, daylighting, thermal comfort, airflow, structural performance and more.
4. Review simulation results and make design refinements in the BIM model.
5. Re-run simulations on design iterations to optimize building performance.

Building Energy Index (BEI) or sometime known as Building Energy Intensity (BEI) or Energy Efficiency Index (EEI) are command work used in building energy management. BEI has been recognised as the primary Specific Energy Consumption (SEC). BEI representing the actual energy consumption.

A standard process has been defined to create a DIM by connecting BIM and GIS models while preserving information. The DIMMER tools include a web-GIS dashboard to monitor and manage energy use, a benchmarking tool to encourage energy optimization, a community portal for information sharing, and a district visualizer prototype. The goal is to extend BIM capabilities to the district level for energy savings.

During the 9th “International Advanced Battery Power Conference” Klaus Eberhardt, Technology
Manager Battery and PV, ATF, presented our focus on cost-effective Li-Ion battery factories. The
conference took place from April 10-11, 2018 in Münster/Germany.
The expected growth in the battery industry will require numerous new factories around the globe. There is a clear trend that the battery manufacturing follows the automotive manufacturing: Closer to the customer, regulative requirements and safety aspects are the key drivers. Adequate sized battery manufacturing facilities are the prerequisite for achieving the required cost target of 100 $/kWh for the battery cells.

potentials for the factory through scaling effects as well as smart
building concepts.
Zero Energy Building in Malaysia by SEDA Malaysia
Objective of ZEB:
To promote the adoption of super low carbon green building by using alternative method focusing purely on sustainable energy practices, starting with advance energy efficiency measures in reducing overall energy demand or consumption and offsetting the balance of minimum energy needed by using on-site renewable energy.
a) Nearly Zero Energy Building (nZEB) is an advance Low Carbon Building initiatives.
b) It is a few steps ahead towards achieving Net Zero Building (NZEB) or Carbon Neutral Building (operational carbon).
c) Focus mainly to building element that have direct impact on carbon reduction which is sustainable energy (EE & RE).
d) Focus on basic, practical & viable elements in sustainable building (quantitative – measurable, recordable and reportable).
Global race on nZEB in Europe and Japan (by 2020 – 2030).
e) Attempt for nZEB / ZEB has been started in Malaysia since 2002.
f) Current assessment tool available in Malaysia, based on energy & carbon reduction.
Smart size battery cell factory
Global investment in new production lines for cell and battery packs is very high. Approximately ten gigafactories are needed to meet expected demand over the next ten years. Assuming a “Lean, Clean and Green” Factory, our expert Klaus Eberhardt, PhD, has presented at Intersolar Europe innovative building concepts for the “Smart Size Battery Cell Factory”. In his presentation he shared exclusive insights in factors like scaling effects, product diversity, safety concepts and site evaluation matrix.

HKIBIM Annual Conference 2017 is the 8th Annual Conference organized by the Hong Kong Institute of Building Information Modelling (HKIBIM). It is the premier annual event for experienced professionals to demonstrate the practical use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes using real cases. The speakers are encouraged to illustrate lessons learned in practical projects so that more professionals from different disciplines can improve their productivity through efficient use of BIM and advance practical knowledge. Building Energy Index (BEI) or sometime known as Building Energy Intensity (BEI) or Energy Efficiency Index (EEI) are command work used in building energy management. BEI has been recognised as the primary Specific Energy Consumption (SEC). BEI representing the actual energy consumption.
Attached is the Standard BEI calculation used by Sustanable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia, GreenTech Malaysia (formerly known as Malaysia Energy Centre), the government agencies, and professionals in Energy Management in Malaysia.

The document discusses the DIMMER project, which aims to develop an open platform using a District Information Model (DIM) to process and visualize real-time district level data in order to reduce energy consumption. A standard process has been defined to create a DIM by connecting BIM and GIS models while preserving information. The DIMMER tools include a web-GIS dashboard to monitor and manage energy use, a benchmarking tool to encourage energy optimization, a community portal for information sharing, and a district visualizer prototype. The goal is to extend BIM capabilities to the district level for energy savings.
Cost effective Battery Factories
During the 9th “International Advanced Battery Power Conference” Klaus Eberhardt, Technology
Manager Battery and PV, ATF, presented our focus on cost-effective Li-Ion battery factories. The
conference took place from April 10-11, 2018 in Münster/Germany.
The expected growth in the battery industry will require numerous new factories around the globe. There is a clear trend that the battery manufacturing follows the automotive manufacturing: Closer to the customer, regulative requirements and safety aspects are the key drivers. Adequate sized battery manufacturing facilities are the prerequisite for achieving the required cost target of 100 $/kWh for the battery cells.
In his presentation, Mr. Eberhardt discussed cost reduction
potentials for the factory through scaling effects as well as smart
building concepts.
Zero Energy Building in Malaysia by SEDA Malaysia
Objective of ZEB:
To promote the adoption of super low carbon green building by using alternative method focusing purely on sustainable energy practices, starting with advance energy efficiency measures in reducing overall energy demand or consumption and offsetting the balance of minimum energy needed by using on-site renewable energy.
a) Nearly Zero Energy Building (nZEB) is an advance Low Carbon Building initiatives.
b) It is a few steps ahead towards achieving Net Zero Building (NZEB) or Carbon Neutral Building (operational carbon).
c) Focus mainly to building element that have direct impact on carbon reduction which is sustainable energy (EE & RE).
d) Focus on basic, practical & viable elements in sustainable building (quantitative – measurable, recordable and reportable).
Global race on nZEB in Europe and Japan (by 2020 – 2030).
e) Attempt for nZEB / ZEB has been started in Malaysia since 2002.
f) Current assessment tool available in Malaysia, based on energy & carbon reduction.
Smart size battery cell factory
Global investment in new production lines for cell and battery packs is very high. Approximately ten gigafactories are needed to meet expected demand over the next ten years. Assuming a “Lean, Clean and Green” Factory, our expert Klaus Eberhardt, PhD, has presented at Intersolar Europe innovative building concepts for the “Smart Size Battery Cell Factory”. In his presentation he shared exclusive insights in factors like scaling effects, product diversity, safety concepts and site evaluation matrix.

How to share manufacturer product data in 2017
Nick Tune discusses the importance of product data and interoperability in construction. Manufacturers need to provide standardized product information like COBie properties, BIM objects, and performance data to meet customer demands. A product data template (PDT) can be used to structure this information for distribution. CoBuilder offers a software called goBIM that allows manufacturers to create PDTs, map their data to different standards, and distribute it through various channels to facilitate interoperability across the industry.

Pounding the Pavement to Reduce GHG Emissions from Civil Remarks Fall 2016
CEE researchers at the University of Maryland have teamed up with contractors to develop foam stabilized base (FSB) as an alternative to hot mix asphalt (HMA) for road construction. FSB produces significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions than HMA during production and construction. It uses recycled materials and requires less asphalt. The researchers aim to quantify the carbon savings from using FSB and develop a methodology for contractors to sell carbon credits, providing an incentive to adopt this more sustainable pavement option. However, FSB has not been widely used in the US due to institutional reluctance to change specifications. The researchers are working to demonstrate FSB's environmental and economic benefits to encourage its increased use.

A community of practice was built including fellow lectures, LinkedIn, and Twitter. The solution created was an online platform for sharing resources and a demonstrator was developed. Benefits included linking SMEs to university research and establishing a long-term community for knowledge sharing.

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is rapidly becoming the industry standard in building design globally. The UK government has announced that all centrally procured constructions projects need to use BIM by 2016 and expect this to reduce capital cost and the carbon burden from the construction and operation of the built environment by 20%. In Taiwan, the Head of the Construction and Planning Agency (CPA) announce that Taiwan government will support BIM development in public policy.

Energy efficiency has been important since the latter part of the last century. The main object of this survey is to determine the energy efficiency knowledge among consumers. Two separate districts in Bangladesh are selected to conduct the survey on households and showrooms about the energy and seller also. The survey uses the data to find some regression equations from which it is easy to predict energy efficiency knowledge. The data is analyzed and calculated based on five important criteria. The initial target was to find some factors that help predict a person's energy efficiency knowledge. From the survey, it is found that the energy efficiency awareness among the people of our country is very low. Relationships between household energy use behaviors are estimated using a unique dataset of about 40 households and 20 showrooms in Bangladesh's Chapainawabganj and Bagerhat districts. Knowledge of energy consumption and energy efficiency technology options is found to be associated with household use of energy conservation practices. Household characteristics also influence household energy use behavior. Younger household cohorts are more likely to adopt energy-efficient technologies and energy conservation practices and place primary importance on energy saving for environmental reasons. Education also influences attitudes toward energy conservation in Bangladesh. Low-education households indicate they primarily save electricity for the environment while high-education households indicate they are motivated by environmental concerns.

signals from a piezo electric sensor, a severe accident can be recognized. According to this
project when a vehicle meets with an accident immediately piezo electric sensor will detect the
signal or if a car rolls over. Then with the help of GSM module and GPS module, the location
will be sent to the emergency contact. Then after conforming the location necessary action will
be taken. If the person meets with a small accident or if there is no serious threat to anyone’s
life, then the alert message can be terminated by the driver by a switch provided in order to
avoid wasting the valuable time of the medical rescue team.
