Beyond Emmaus is a nonprofit organization founded by Ricky and Terri Howard that aims to help orphaned children and girls aging out of foster care complete their college educations. It provides housing, transportation, job training and other support to remove barriers that could prevent these youths from enrolling full-time and securing degrees. Beyond Emmaus is raising $6 million to purchase a facility with multiple buildings on several acres for housing and expansion. It needs donations, grant writers, corporate sponsors and volunteers to help with fundraising, operations and growing its vision of supporting more orphanages worldwide.

A group of 16 Kiwanians from the Kiwanis Club of Hatboro Horsham traveled to Jamaica to help build facilities at the Westhaven Children's Home and visit the Blossom Garden Orphanage. They helped lay cement and rebar to construct a new building at Westhaven to house older children. The group also visited the Blossom Garden Orphanage and met the wonderful orphans there who need families. Throughout their trip, the Kiwanians worked with the local community and enjoyed sights around Montego Bay and Jamaica.

It will include code fragments for implementing AJAX requests for a social networking application and how to avoid frequent developer pitfalls when displaying the data retrieved on the mobile device. It will further provide coding strategies for improving performance and reducing footprint when developing on a mobile device utilizing Web technologies such as JavaScript, CSS and HTML.
This talk will conclude highlighting the activities of the Symbian Foundation including a roadmap of how the Symbian tools are being evolved to further improve and enhance the mobile Web developer experience.
