De Bono's Six Thinking Hats is a framework that uses six colored hats to represent six different perspectives or thinking styles. The perspectives are: white hat for objective facts; red hat for emotions and feelings; black hat for critical judgment; yellow hat for optimism and benefits; green hat for creativity and new ideas; and blue hat for organization and process control. The framework is used to conduct meetings by having participants consciously adopt different thinking perspectives depending on which colored hat they are wearing.
