The colour palette of most of his films are very similar, mainly black and blue.
In one of the films that he directed “the girl with the dragon tattoo” the colours are black and
icy blue to match the setting. This is also because it’s a thriller film.
Also, in his film zodiac, the colours that he mainly used were black and yellow to show the
plot of the film. The yellow is used during the day to show warmth when its safe from the
killer and he uses black when the killer strikes at night.
His visual style is unique, always dark and gothic.
3. CAMERA MOVEMENT
The camera movement that David usually uses is smooth and travels
through walls or solid objects.
He likes to use lengthy tracking shots, he does this to add a stylistic edge
to the films.
He likes to add a single frame into his movies, David uses this in Se7en to
make the audience feel frightened and enhance the emotional impact on
the films.
4. SETTINGS
The settings that David fincher usually likes to use in his films are
dark and abandoned. The settings don’t have many people and are
set quite rough.
The settings that David uses in se7en are very dull and empty. There
aren’t as many props used as you would expect for a film. The props
are very detailed and David uses extreme close ups to show the
props.
