This document provides an overview of different types of databases:
- Relational databases store data in tables with rows and columns and use primary and foreign keys.
- Document databases store documents without uniform fields and don't require tables.
- Embedded databases are collections of individual end user files like documents.
- Graph databases store data as nodes and edges to represent relationships.
- Hypertext databases store linked information well for disparate data.
- Operational databases store organization operations distinctly.
- Distributed databases store data across multiple connected computers.
- Flat files store each record as a separate line with delimited fields.

Big Data is the reality of modern business: from big companies to small ones, everybody is trying to find their own benefit. Big Data technologies are not meant to replace traditional ones, but to be complementary to them. In this presentation you will hear what is Big Data and Data Lake and what are the most popular technologies used in Big Data world. We will also speak about Hadoop and Spark, and how they integrate with traditional systems and their benefits.
This PPT will help to understand how learning happens in brain. How you can adjust your skill acquisition in the right way so that maximum output is obtained.

4. A Database is a collection of records. Database management
systems are designed as the means of managing all the records.
DBMS is a software system designed to allow the definition ,
update , retrieval and of databases.
6. Relational database
• A relational database is a database that has a collection of
tables of data items.
• Data in a single table represents a relations.
• Tables consist of rows and columns.
• The columns constitute the attributes.
• The rows constitute tuples.
7. • Row-A data set representing a single item.
• Column-A labeled element of a tuple, e.g. "Address" or "Date
of birth”, of multiple data item.
• A primary key is used to uniquely identify each row.
• The foreign key a column or group of columns in one table
that points to the primary key of another table.
.
8. Document oriented database
• A computer program designed for storing, retrieving and
managing document oriented information.
• Documents inside a document-oriented database are similar
to records or rows in relational databases.
• Do not store data in tables with uniform sized fields for each
record.
9.
10. Embedded database
•The databases consist of data developed by individual end users.
•Examples of these are collection of documents, spreadsheets,
presentations and other files.
11.
12. Graph database
• A graph database is a database that uses graph structures with
nodes, edges, and properties to represent and store data.
• A graph database is any storage system that provides index-
free adjacency.
• This means that every element contains a direct pointer to its
adjacent elements.
13.
14. Hypertext database
• Hypertext databases are particularly useful for organizing
large amount of disparate information.
• Hypertext is text displayed on a computer display or other
electronic devices with references to other text which the reader
can immediately access.
• Pages often written in HTML.
15.
16. OPERATIONAL DATABASE
• Operational databases are used to store the detail operations
of an organization.
• It distinctly represents different operations within an
organization.
17.
18. DISTRIBUTED DATABASE
• A database in which storage devices are not all
attached to a common processing unit.
• It may be stored in multiple computers located in
the same physical location , or,
• May be dispersed over a network of interconnected
computers.
19.
20. Flat File
• A flat file database is a database that stores data in a plain text
file.
• Flat files are ideal for small amount of data.
• Each line of the text file holds one record, with fields separated
by delimiters, such as commas or tabs.
