2. Director of Quality Assurance, Manufacturing (1998 – 2004)
Sucessfully developed and implemented an ISO9001 certified quality system for the Houston Oilfield Divisions.
Originally implemented under the 1994 edition of the standard, then upgraded and re-engineered the system for
registration the 2000 edition of the standard. Responsible for the direction of the Quality Initiative, including assistance
with Continuous Improvement teams, and implementation of an electronic Product Data Management (PDM) system to
increase efficiency of ISO document control requirements fulfillment. Established a Technical Training group to serve the
training needs of the engineering and engineering support groups. Initiated, conceptualized, and managed a Business
Process system re-design project, for the Houston-based Oilfield groups, using process maps to simplify the
documentation for internal processes, and simultaneously create ownership of the processes at the shop floor level.
Supervised. Managed a QA/QC staff of 16 people, and reported to the Vice-President of Manufacturing.
Oceaneering Intervention Engineering (1989 – 1998)
As Quality Assurance Manager assumed responsibility for the operations of the ISO9001:1994 certified quality system,
including inspection department, auditing, subcontractor qualification / management, safety and document control. As
Project Manager, directed Subsea Hydraulic Control Systems and Connection Equipment projects, including customer
interface, coordination of design, interface coordination, sourcing of special services, schedule and budget control,
monitoring and coordination of manufacturing, quality planning, installation planning, start-up and operation manuals,
systems integration testing, and offshore project participation. Contributed to projects including Exxon Zinc, Marathon
Arnold, Ranger Kiame, Troika “Plan B”, and customers including Forest Oil, Phillips Petroleum, and Walter Oil & Gas.
