What it is!! Cyberbullying is the use of electronic means by a minor to torment, threaten, harass, humiliate, embarrass, or other wise target another minor.
Where it is done Cyberbullying is done through e-mail, instant message, text messages, blogs, mobile phones, pagers, and websites.
How common is it? 18% of students in grades 6-8th said they had been cyberbullied at least once in the last couple of months;  6% said that it had happen to them 2 or more times in 2005. 11% of students in grades 6-8th said they had cyberbullied another person at least once in the last couple of months
How common is it? 2% said they had done it 2 or more times.(2005) 19%of regular internet users between the ages of 10 and 17 reported being involved in online aggression 15% had been aggressors, and 7% had been targets (3% were both aggressors and targets)2004

Cyberbullying has increased in recent years.  In nationally representative surveys of 10-17 year-olds, twice as many children and youth indicated that they had been victims and perpetrators of online harassment in 2005 compared with 1999/2000.

The next story is about a 12 year-old boy from suburban Kansas City committed suicide last year after classmates teased him and bullied him. A 13 year-old St. Louis girl hanged herself after a former friends mother posed as a boyfriend on myspace and sent cruel messages.
Is a child you know a victim? If a child you know is a victim of cyber bullying, they may not tell you about it.  Often they are embarrassed, or they fear you will over react, or they fear you will restrict them from the computer there cell phones or other devices they can get cyber bullied on.  If they do not tell you or there parents here are so helpful hints.
The child seems to be upset, sad, or angry after using a computer or cell phone. The child seems to not  be as active in normal activities they usually enjoy.
