Many organisations are using the power of social media to constantly create and innovate practices that help them move forward. Knowledge networks, open learning, crowdfunding, intrapreneurship and reverse mentorship are some of the key enablers that bring about this shift in how organisations are operating.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2. Cyber Bullying
Anti social behavior to
degrading or intimidate
someone mostly
happen in teenagers or
childrens.
is usually happen
through online or
handphone.
OR
can be happen through
SMS, E-mail, Instant
messaging(IM), blogs,
or social media (
Facebook, Twitter ) or
web pages.
3. Cyber bullying happen, because :
•Because they have been victims of bullying
•Want to show the existence of self
•Want to be recognized
•Negative influence of TV shows
•Seek for attention
•Revenge
•Idly
•Frequent harassment from other people
•Want to be famous
•Only folllow the other people
•Difficulty to handle emotions in a positive way
•They think it's fun, or that it makes them popular or cool
•Envy
4. How Cyber Bullying
happens?
Cyber harassment mostly occurs on chatrooms, forums
and social media pages. Each person logging on is a
potential victim. Cyber-harassment essentially takes the
form of constant and persistent harassment that happens
online. Threatening emails, facebook messages, and
pornographic content sent to you, even threatening texts
and phone calls. Anonymity is what makes the bullying
think they are safe. Hiding under a false name or identity is
often the case with the cyber-harasser. This does make the
cyber-crime harder to trace, yet does not make it
impossible.
Imagine being harassed constantly during lunch hour in
school, in class, on your school bus and through your
phone or online as you go home. The stress a youngster
has to go under to survive this kind of bullying is
sometimes too much to handle.
5. The Result :
•increased
feelings of
sadness and
loneliness
•changes in
sleep and
eating patterns
•loss of interest
in activities
•more health
complaints
6. Here are some common feelings cyberbullied
teens and tweens often experience:
Feel overwhelmed
Feel vulnerable and
powerless
Feel exposed and
humiliated
Feel dissatisfied with who
they are
Feel angry and vengeful
7. Feel disinterested in life
Feel alone and isolated
Feel disinterested in
school
Feel anxious and depressed
Feel ill.
Feel suicidal
8. The Solution
•Develop clear rules and policies to prohibit the use of
school technologies to bully others.
•Educate students and staff members about what types of
behavior constitute cyber bullying and how the school
district’s policies apply to them.
•Provide adequate supervision and monitoring of student
use of technology.
•Establish systems for reporting cyber bullying of misuse of
technology.
•Establish effective responses to reports of cyber bullying.
9. The ways for parents can do to
stop cyber bullying.
Keep the computer in a common area of the home.
Do not allow it in your children's bedrooms. Monitor
their online usage.
Learn how various social networking websites work.
Become familiar with Facebook, MySpace, and
Twitter. Ask your children if they will show you their
profile pages.
10. Talk regularly and specifically with your
children about online issues
Build trust with your children
Tell your children not to respond to any
cyberbullying threats or comments online.
Don't overreact by blaming your children
11. Don't underreact by telling your
children to "shrug it off" or just deal
with the bullying
Don't threaten to take away your
children's computers if they come to you
with a problem
12. Cyber bullying is more bad than other
kind of bullying. Then, you shouldn’t
bullying your friends or other people,
specially via “internet” because when
you bully someone on “internet”
everybody will be know about that and
not only victim will be have negative
judgment, but you’ll get it too…
So be carefull and get over your self!
